    Why did you pour half a gallon of soy sauce for 4 pieces?

      i don't read minds but i'm pretty sure he did it for its colour, so the plate and the dish look both pretty and delish😁

    Guys, he's joking when he says to throw it away. That's why he emphasized it so much and said it in that way and laughed. In all his videos he gets comments about him "throwing them away". He doesn't though as in some videos you can see him sneak a piece in his mouth and now he explicitly tells you that it goes into the chef's stomach

    • @MakeSushi1
      @MakeSushi1  10 років тому +9

      Thanks for clearing that up :) Mominaodiji

    • @jakicheng
      @jakicheng 10 років тому +8

      Probably better for him not to be misleading though because some viewers, including myself, don't watch all of his other videos. And given that there are a number of chefs who are quite notorious for unnecessarily throwing away food, it's a really sad thing for food to be wasted, joke or not.

    • @MeeplandHeights
      @MeeplandHeights 10 років тому

      jackiepenguin Yeah, some chefs do and it is truly sad seeing how so many people are starving and how that truly is good food which could easily be made into something else if the chefs wanted to. Though I do think considering the circumstances the joke made sense. He does say that he doesn't throw it away in newer videos though (he says he eats it and such)

    • @Chemeleon15
      @Chemeleon15 10 років тому +1

      jackiepenguin It's really up to you, if you don't like wasting food then just don't, find something else to use the leftovers from his recipes.

    • @xxpostaldude25
      @xxpostaldude25 9 років тому +5

      Mominaodiji people are not starving due to food shortage... We produce enough food for the world to not starve. The issue is being able to transport it to places that have a hard time growing food...

      Lol

    • @nblack7314
      @nblack7314 4 роки тому

      @@johannacannella909 i'm quite sure he was joking because people comment about this all the time. i assume he is a professional chef, so he cooks and uses, say, more advanced terms and techniques automatically. and some people just feel obligated to stand out and say how dare he throw away food or share that they eat the ends. imo he eats the edges when he cooks at home. the fact is a lot of food being actually thrown away because of sanitary and hygiene standards and it doesn't mean cooks of all sorts and other staff like doing it.

      I think that's why he laughed after emphasizing "I repeat, throw away," because he knows someone will comment every time he says it. I agree, why waste the food, but think he missed a golden opportunity to post a video in which he throws away every slice on April 1st.
      Some Chefs around here utilize the end piece on vegetarian rolls in an interesting fashion. They serve the end with uneven carrot ends sticking from the top, resembling a geyser. It really adds interest, and hierarchy to an otherwise uniform sushi plate. I think that's the one ingredient it works with though. It'd look sad with an impotent slab of tuna.
