Great demo. The pedal is amazing, the guitarist too. Arielle voice is superb. She sings like an angel. During the last piece I had goose pimples on my arms and.... I fell with her!
towards the end, the way she corrected her pitch and his saluting smile for that move was priceless.. Although it could be easily edited and removed ..but they kept that natural treasure.. American producers do-know how to keep it real and organic and that's why their productions and the music is always lead the way.. and that put a smile on my face as well.. well done..
I bought this gadget a week ago - and it is just great. It is really much fun in a live situation to just add some harmony vocals. The harmonies sound good, they are really fast, no latency. Just what I needed! Thank you TC-Helicon.
The automatic microphone sound optimization does enhance the sound. When I use a XLR to jack adaptor to feed a DI box and feed the Bose L1 microphone in, I get some improvements. It makes everything better.
She's got a lovely voice. Great effects pedal too! One time at one of my open mic nights, when I sang Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), the sound guy put a harmony effect on my vocal, and I thought it sounded cool, and I think it was on the PA system rather than through a harmony effects pedal though.
hi daxie i have been thinking about getting one but i play no instruments im i right in thinking that the guitar give the beat ?so i was thinking could play a backing track through the guitar input for the beat would that work do you think ? cheers
@@gunnerkelly6104 … maybe, maybe not. That depends on you, on what you want to come out with. As for me, i simply use my Harmony Singer 2 for my vocals only.
I agree that it sounds a bit artificial at the beggining of the video...BUT, I have been using the previuos and almost-exact H1 for no less than 5 years in every single acoustic solo show and let me tell you that it is awesome..!!..best 160€ spent in my life. Precise, small and reliable! No artificial sound. Just perfect. I just hope that this model has the same core as the H1 cause I like the included reverb feature; although my Roland Ac-90 has one, sometimes you don't need to bring your amp cause they make you play through the in-house system...and having a reverb included in the pedal takes out the risk of finding yourself with a non-reverb desk in front of you..!!
Great pedal for me.Solo acoustic gigs. I set the harmony level a little above my vocals for that little extra harmony. I got it last week.I used it on 2 gigs so far I dig it! The selling point for me which you didn’t point out in this video is that you can set it up to engage the vocals when holding the button down, then disengage the vocals when you step off. I wish my Play acoustic had that feature (Tom any chance of that happening?) And I love the simplicity of this unit.I think,at least for me,the key is to use it sparingly. You don’t need it on every song..Also,I use the AC adaptor that came with my Play acoustic and it works fine.
Really beautiful presentation guys. Arielle sounds lovely and Tom, you are right there man. Even with the levels set to demo-audible, I can hear the heart of that music. Wow! I'm a gonna get me one to go out buskin'. Big thanks, from Robin at Bob Rowley Music.
The key with these pedals to not crank the harmony level, and leave it lower so it adds, but doesn't sound awfully digital like it does in most of this demo.
I was wondering about that. This guy also does a demo video for the voicetone h1, and it sounded much more realistic than this pedal. Wasn't sure if that was because of the pedal or the singer ua-cam.com/video/ARilla0RvKE/v-deo.html
When I was working with a singer/ songwriter, I played piano and sang background with a TC Helicon vocalist, she sang melody lines, played guitar and provided the chords.
I like it! just what I've been looking for... ,i just want something to give me a couple of harmonies that sound decent and don't take Einstein to operate while playing my single jobs. great demo, and And Arielle is a great singer, she has soul in her voice. and she's absolutely beautiful to boot. .great combo. Thanks guys
Great video!! Can I use this device by running my Electric Guitar through the TC Helicon Harmony Singer 2 on to a Guitar Amp, and running my microphone through the TC Helicon Harmony Singer 2 on to my separate PA System?
Great demo! I’m actually waiting for mine to arrive in the mail! Question: I’m also going to use a pre-amp/eq/effects pedal- something like the TREX Soulmate Acoustic, the Fishman Tone DEQ, or the Boss AD10. (I’ve been using the TC Helicon Play Acoustic, but I want to have a separate, higher quality pedal with more/easier control over my guitar sound). My question is, should I plug my guitar directly into the Harmony Singer first, or the pre-amp/effects pedal? My guess is that the Harmony Singer should go first so that it receives the cleanest guitar signal, without any effects applied- so it can create the harmonies most accurately. What’s your recommendation? Thanks so much!
Could you guys please to do a firmware update that includes the "Set Key" feature that is in the Harmony GTX? I love my Harmony v100, but sometimes (especially on the songs with more intricate guitar) the harmony generation algorithm gets confused. "Set Key" solves this problem, and you already have that tech in your other devices. Pretty please 🙏 You could implement as in the Harmony GTX: When I hold down the "harmony" pedal on the foot switch, strum a chord, and the key is set. Boom. Please please please. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
There are two modes: either I use my guitar and Harmony singer 2 fits the tonality of the song, but we talk about the tonality in terms of pitch of notes not the tonality of the piece (eg: tonality of C minor, or D major etc) or is it the same thing? The second mode is me who chooses but I always have the same problem of understanding. Because during a song, the tonality of the pieces changes, we also have borrowed chords etc. Thank you
YUP .. I wish someone would answer this question. The vocalist in the video tried to ask it and the dude didn't get it and just said it would work with a piano. Hey man we need to know .. does it work without ANYTHING? I see no reason why it could not .. the harmony can be computed from just the vocal signal, and would need to be in instances where the vocals start or end the song completely solo.
Just got mine but when i went to hook into my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 plus I didn’t get enough power. Not even with a doubling cable. So how can I make this work with a power brick like your video suggests?
Good luck getting any response from this company when there's a problem. You'll only see a response if it's something unrelated to a problem. Horrible customer service... company is joke regarding this product!
How about if you are only using this for vocal harmony effects WITHOUT any instruments. Only with backing tracks. Would it still be useful? I'm debating between the duplicator or harmony singer. Im a vocalist and I don't play any instrument.
Can You Use this Without Guitar / Piano / Music playing into it? Will it harmonize My voice as I sing with Music without any input for Music audio going into it? So if I am singing A cappella could I use it as is? just with my Mic Input
I'm a Japanese! I often use voicetone:harmony G XT and synth. When I watched this video,I had a question! Please tell me about differences between the harmony singer and the harmony singer "2"!!
Harmony Singer 2 has all of the functions of the original Harmony Singer and is 9 volt, so it can now connect with a guitar pedal board. We've also added AA battery power for when house power isn't an option. Finally, we've added automatic mic gain to make set up that much easier!
I Love this pedal and have been using 2 of them in series with my duo (1 guitar, 2 harmony singers) to provide flexibility for harmony for either of our voices, often adding a 3rd voice. Problem is that the pedals are only lasting about 1 year before experiencing issues. Does TC Helicon recommend this type of setup? It would be GREAT if TC Helicon made this same pedal but with the addition of a second mic connection and switch.
It would also nice nice to know if you have to spend big money for an amplifier and microphone to get this great sound. Love her voice and this gadget....but do I need expensive equipment to work with it.
The output level of the TC Helicon Voice(tone) stomp boxes has an output level, that is high enough to feed a Powerplay distributor and not too high to feed the LD-Systems Maui 5's Micro in
It's a beautiful product but I sold it and would love to purchase it again if TC Helicon re-engineer it and make a volume control for harmonies because it seems to me that it overpowers the main vocals of the performer itself despite of all settings, there's no way to turn down the volume of backing harmonies, and sometimes I feel like getting annoyed of it. And the Reverb settings are just mostly designed for indoor performances. As for me who performs on open wide venues, the current reverb settings of the device doesn't suit quite well. It's just my own experience and opinion on it.
Hey John! That is definitely possible on a technical level, however the latency would add up when you run the vocals through twice. Your best option is to use the roomsense mic to determine the harmonies through a backing track or other instrument!
could you not take a input from a backing track instead of a instrument for judging harmony ? I mean there are instruments on a backing track so in theory it should work?
Thanks for your demonstration absolutely beautiful. Hey, I just ordered my Harmony singer. I am a bass player, understand that it does not work so well with a bass plugged in - however am planning on looping it in to rythmn guitar players signal - Qyestion: From your demo n your experiences what is your preferred harmonizer setting as far as - one lower - two lower - one above one below - two above - ??? thx again
We are working on some advances in our algorithms that would allow the harmony voices to maintain more of a realistic human range and automatically move below or above when necessary, but that's not something I'd guess you'll see in the stomp boxes any time soon.
Ok, get it, I love mine (Version 1) it's a great product. Singing things like "Comfortably numb" or "Space Oddity" works real good. Do you mind if I ask you this? (I wanna use it for busking with a 9V 1A Warwick Rockboard power LT XL)
one question : I've got an older version of TC Helicon and I plug it in without guitar. But I always struggle with the gain and it is oupling very often. How can I manage this better ?
Can two or three people sing into a single mic hooked into this? Or will it sound like mush? And can I sing acapella without playing my guitar ? I have the old version of this pedal.
