- So we tried using the Samsung S20 Ultra as our work PC for a week using Samsung DeX and here's how it did!

Did you try powering it from a power adapter and didnt open more than 5 aps or how did you power it ?
I mean u seems using a power bank. So can you please try using a 2A power adapter for example and reply to me with the result because I wanted to buy the same adapter and I hate the limited 5 apps thing.
@@3adelz90 Hi Ahmed, we tried charing it using the power outlet and it works just fine. The charging works same as usual. :)
Thanks for quick reply. Does "just fine" than you can open more than 5 apps at once in pop up view ? Bec you mentioned in your video that this wasn't applicable.
I'm going to attempt to use Shadow PC which has an app on the play store, and see if I can use on the Dex. Shadow PC is a cloud gaming computer that you can access that is your own desktop and you can play high-end games or even do heavy editing projects.
having this is actually cheaper than having a high-end computer because they also offer upgrades overtime for free as part of the subscription. now possibly the Dex could become a gaming or high-end computer.

I am a DEX user for more than a year now and I can confirm that most of my work can be done in DEX.
I noticed that some of your apps are not running fullscreen or you have to restart the app to make it fullscreen. There is a fix for that.
1-Go in Dex lab and enable Force apps to resize
2-Go to phone settings->developer options and enable "force activities to be resizable"
3-Restart your phone.

i am a Dex user since the Galaxy Note 8, now i am using a Galaxy Note 10+, and i have the multiport adapter (the one with Gigabit Ethernet) as well the Dex Station and is amazing but maybe you can get 4K resolution working. These two devices are 4K capable in theory, at least that whats the offical website says and the package on the devices. If you make another video where you can manage the 4K resolution to get working it would be amazing!!

watching in oneplus desk setup to use desk mode of oneplus do this process
1.go to settings
2.go to about phone
3.click the build no for 7-10 time u need to give ur pasword then if u have any
4.ur devoloper option will be opened
5.at setting's search option type desk
6.u will find desktop mode written
7.click on it
8.it will take u to developers option from there turn the option on
9. restart ur phone and u are done
enjoy building ur deskphone setup
for artist on dex:
if you run your phone in desktop mode [or dex mode for samsung users] and you own or buy an old wacom tablet.. intuos or bamboo you can start drawing painting designing.
those old tablets work in desktop mode (because then the aspect ratio of the pentablet and the desktop are the same).
penpressure works and using apps like medibang, infinite painter or even krita (full pc version) for android you can start being an artist without forking out big money for a computer/laptop.
with a lapdock you can even do it on the go ...

You can conect wireless if the screen your are using allows it. I connected my s20 ultra to my smart tv and it works great

How do you shut down the dex? Can we put dex to sleep with sheets or word open?

Can Dex be extended to work on two monitors?

The reason as to why you are limited to only using 5 apps is because is because you're not using the official Samsung Gear
if you choose to use either the Samsung Dex cable the Samsung Dex station or the Samsung Dex pad you can use an unlimited amount of apps simultaneously

Dex/Mirroring isn't supported for dual monitors. Hopefully maybe in the future it might.
But you can connect your phone to a PC (laptop/Desktop) to a USB 3.0 Or Usb C. (best is USB C or USB 3.0 Gen 2 with 10GBPS speeds for the best video response.). And just download Samsung Dex to PC from samsungs website, run it on the PC. plug phone in, and it'll ask to run Dex. Then it has it's own app window you can size,etc. Move to it's own monitor and have 1 screen Dex, and another for your PC, etc.
Does it support 120hz refresh rate?

I have a Samsung Note 20 Ultra and I have connected it to a samsung qe65q60ta via DEX but unfurtunately I get this message on screen, " Monitor or Screen can't display Samsung Dex. Your TV isnt working correctly, or it's current resolution isnt supported by Samsung DEX."
In other words, it's in extremely low quality and I have no way of adjusting, on the mobile phone or TV. The TV display settings is greyed out.
What can I do?
Is it wired or wireless. If it's wireless this is probably something with the miracast built into the TV, or your using a poor optional dongle that isn't designed for high bandwidth the N20U is pushing out.
If it's wired, Are you using the specific Samsung HDMI Dock/Cables? (Station/Pad, or USB-C to HDMI) These have specific chips built into them for smoother data and streaming abilities unlike the knock off or budge ones people normally buy. If so, I'd try looking into nabbing samsungs USB-C to HDMI pure plug and try again to HDMI. Course you'll loose the flexability of having ports, but bluetooth keyboard/mouse work great. Or charging, but can always try laying the phone on a wireless pad while plugged.

@@neliomp Yeah. This is dependent based on the TV/Miracast/Wireless devices then. It's nothing due to the phone. So remember not all wireless things will respond or work the same. Glad it's working now. Have fun with it.
can dex handle 3d gaming via BT controller ? or is it best to just use screen mirroring or is performance the same on both ?
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out. The DeX can handle both, but from our finding, if you want a smoother experience, using the mirroring is alot better.

Nope. Has to be on the phones ports or bluetooth.

I found some where that if you connect a charger to the usb type c (pc) in hub, that would enable the Dex to open more than 5 apps ( maybe not working for all types of dongles)

Google should integrate this feature into stock android.
It already is. You gotta have Dev options open and have a Android 10 phone, But it's really basic and not optimized. LG has a modified version on their phones with abit more optimized under the hood. But no where near Dex or Huawei's systems.

With PUBG, it's a bit tricky as you will need to use a mouse. Mouse input on games in DeX is a bit messed up. There is no 360 camera tracking.
The only issue is samsung is not using snap dragon processers
