That's impressive, sailors of the Royal Navy, onboard HMS Tamar are definitely highly skilled, and part of a multi-disciplinary team. At 2:40, the lad casting a fishing line, trying his luck for dinner, what a great way to end the day.🇬🇧👍🏻
Spotted HMS Tamar & HMS Spey tied up @ Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii yesterday morning. Beautiful looking warships!! Love the dazzle/ camp paint job!
Takes me back, even though it's plain to see 'the Andrew' has moved on. Can't help still feeling part of it when I watch these! Best wishes to the ship and all her crew, thank you for sharing.

Nice video tour of the inside and outside of ,HMS Tamar . Is it possible in any other tour of , Royal Navy Ship's , to at least see a hanging photograph portrait of our Monarch , of Her Majesty The Queen .

They should replace two of the GPMG's with two Browning .50 cals, would make a better mix
I believe there is talk of doing that, there's also the potential that they could fit a larger naval gun instead of the 30mm cannon like the adapted version of the class ordered by the Royal Thai Navy.

Funny thing , the Brazilian "Amazonas" batch 2 has 25mm port and starboard mounted guns beside the main 30 mm, this has none.
To be fair in the modern world with ship killing missiles a 20 mm Phalanx automatic cannon spraying 75 shells a second in front of the incoming threat is needed.
This is a fishery protection vessel and general patrol ship
@@itsrobm8 There are plenty of examples of OPVs wich are armed with 57mm or 76mm guns.
@@Panzerargentino1 But they have a different purpose, the Royal navy has frigates and destroyers if it needs big fire power, the purpose of these ships isn't big fire power, it's patrolling against smaller ships and boats. Brazilian navy doesn't have any destroyers, that's why it outfits the smaller ships with bigger weapons.

She is an ocean going patrol boat. Basically an under armed corvette

On that we agree. Guns like that alone are good but just aren't enough these days, needs missile-launchers, or at least ANTI-missile countermeasures of some kind

@@TT-hd3zi Could possibly be considered one though, guess it depends what you classify AS a Corvette doesn't it, she does do the same kind of job after all and does have that sort of size and firepower overall (main gun would probably be bigger on a Corvette but isn't much other major difference so far as I can see). So far as I know we haven't had 'official' Corvettes in decades as ships like this can basically do they same things they would have
1IbramGaunt corvettes often have anti ship missiles and self defence missiles, are larger in size and have a larger main gun. She’s an OPV both in capability and use age.
@@TT-hd3zi ships called 'corvettes' can vary in size greatly, WW2 British ones were almost frigate-sized true but I've also seen stuff in other countries smaller than this is they call that. As for missiles and the like quite frankly I suspect the only real reason Tamar doesn't have missiles or missile countermeasures (something surely vital of at least SOME kind to have on any warship in the 21st century) is budget-constraints haha, don't see why you couldn't fit a couple on somewhere there, although that said it could be argued if it's something THAT dangerous you're dealing with that's probably when it's best to just call in a Type 45 Destroyer or something anyway
@@1IbramGaunt sort of. There isn't really a need for any defensive/offensive missiles on a ship which is patrolling fishing waters or EEZs. Its not because of budget constraints in the sense that there is no money but in the sense that the money is better spent elsewhere.
I agree that ship sizes vary wildly and aren't a good metric to classify a ship but I'm just going on the general trend of corvettes from other navies, plus how they are used and deployed.

Mod Gave it a ‘Pop Gun’ so it wouldn’t be used as a Corvette/Gunship, so now what are we doing using it as a Corvette/gunship? Need a Bofors 57mm and 2 30 mm and some Harpoon missiles!

@@williamreed6614 I dunno, those flight-decks are pretty tough and I know Harriers have landed on stuff that small, the F35 is bigger of course but a skilled VTOL-trained pilot could probably do it, especially one WITH previous experience with doing it in Harriers beforehand; problem would be taking off vertically again from the same space though, as the Lightning's not designed for that the way the Harrier was
@@williamreed6614 if you want burnt decks that's where the Russian Yak-38 Forger comes in lol, a skilled pilot probably COULD do it with one of those and take off again without much trouble, you'd just wish he hadn't afterwards haha
@@1IbramGaunt its not about the ability of aircraft or pilot. The flight deck on Tamar doesn't have the protective coating that the QE does. The exhaust will ruin the structural integrity of the flight deck.

Where are the ships defences? This ship looks under equiped and lacks potent fire power and defence...the video shows more of a holiday ship with tourist posing for photoshoot
