Andrea Gibson. Her poems always twist my heart into knots, so beautifully heartbreaking. I'm headed to Afghanistan for my first tour next month. This poem and "For Eli" are so frightfully intriguing, they definitely strike a chord of wonder for the future in me.
i have seen all your videos and I'm proud to say 'm a huge fan.I love everything about your pieces. i relate to a couple and i think evverything is so raw. i adore your writing.
"When the sand in the desert has been melted down to glass and our reflection isn't something we can stand to look at does the white flag make for a perfect blindfold?" Gets me every time.
When she talked about how long flowers could survive in the hands of thieves during the end, and how it had so much more meaning, the meaning of lost innocence, I just lost it.
When she said the part about how 80% of soldiers cant bring themselves to kill an enemy soldier while they were sleeping, my stomach clenched. This is truly amazing.
this is amazing how can anyone not like her poetry i wish we could study her at school instead of some of the poets we do can anyone tell me what poem of hers has a line about buildings falling and somethhing like how many wall are no longer there when an amount of buildings fall ..it would be great if you could let me know i just cant remember the title many thanks

It always takes her a long time to start reading a poem that hurts... It's like she's swallowing a pill on a dry throat and it hurts to get it down... I don't think I could do it.

Some day I'll be half the poet she is, and I'll be more that proud of myself. Gods, she's amazing.
