I would leave all the time. I'm a guy and there wasn't much love in the house. This story would bother me growing up.
Sorry I'm late to the party but I just subscribed. Agree; normally I don't do the Monday morning quarterback crap but I have a 16 year old daughter and would never let her go anywhere that late. I know that was a different time but that was downright foolish.
I'm honestly wondering if she was trying to run away and got in a car with the wrong person. A teenager thinking constantly about death isn't normal.
My Mother used to let me come and goes as I pleased when I was 16 ,She would tell me a time to be back and rarely cared if I came home at that time ,sometimes I wouldn't even come home that day. I by no means was a bad kid my home life was just so bad I couldn't stand to be there but My Mother had no clue who I hung out with or where I was going and as a mother now myself that is unacceptable.

Maryland parkway and desert inn is a really bad area! Ive lived in vegas for 15 years and even as an adult i wouldn't walk alone during the day! So sad but why would her mother even let her walk alone so late at night? I have 5 daughter's and no way do i even let them go to the bathroom alone in stores.
I thought that too! If she was so afraid for her life, why would she do something so foolish?
If I could speak to my mom and my BFF rip how great that would be.

Such a sad case about Kathy I don't want to know when I'm going to die but for somebody so young to say that really rattles my core I hope they find the monster who did this. However this is a 24hr store but nobody saw nothing seems to always be the case here.
The guy who killed her got the death penalty for killing other girls to.

Spirits are actual persons. God is a spirit. The angels he created are spirits. When a human asks Jesus into his heart, the Holy Spirit enters him and gives life to his soul.
People without Jesus are very vulnerable to another kind of spirit activity. Karen’s parents were fooled by these unholy spirits. Jim, also, spending the night in the home of these folks, was also fooled. Very sad . . .

Solved. Although the unidentified caller never came forward, Kathy's case has since been closed. Authorities linked her murder to a serial killer named Michael Lee Lockhart from Ohio. In May 1987, Lockhart stole a blue 1986 Toyota Cecelia and kept it until November 1987. Authorities believe that during this time, he abducted and murdered Kathy. Blue fibers found at the crime scene matched fibers from the stolen vehicle. Credit card receipts also placed him in the area at the time of the murder. Finally, when investigators questioned him about Kathy's case, he virtually confessed to the crime.
Lockhart was convicted for a series of murders in Texas, Indiana, Tennessee, and Florida and was eventually executed in Texas on December 9, 1997. Since he had already been sentenced to death in the four states, Nevada did not pursue prosecution.

@@wendyhocker7016 i drove to aspen colorado to work the summer of 2010. on the way back i went west to utah then south to arizona before heading back east to florida. i stopped in galveston for a day (because i like the song, haha). it was great. if i had time and money i would get a camper and really see America. maybe some day.

There are millions of light skinned black people who have two black parents as well as biracial and multiracial people who are identified as black.
Probably because their paretns are light skinned too. In general a light skin black person will either have one black and one white parent or two light skinned black parents.
Yeah but if someone is black with a lighter skin tone you'd usually assume they're mixed. Most non-mixed black people are not light skin. Like if someone looks Asian but also looks White you'd say they look mixed because there's no way you can one full race yet look sort of like another race unless you're mixed.
Simonne, genes are tricky and don't always work that way, especially in those with Afro descent. I have family that are very light skinned and have dark skinned parents. And mixed race relatives that are what you might consider "dark" or "brown". And even those I am mixed, I'm considered black.
Aigg, You are right, And as far as police are concerned, they go by what you appear to the eye at first glance. A biracial person who appears black if you saw them on the street walking (Obama, Hale Berry) is considered black.
