Hello All, Thank you for your valuable feedback. We would like to emphasize a very important aspect of the Pulsometer bezel that Jody forgotten to mention. The Pulsometer bezel is an innovative feature that allows users to easily determine their heart rate without the need for a stopwatch function movement. This can be achieved by using the trailing seconds hand as a stopwatch. Unlike conventional pulsometer mechanical watches, which require a stopwatch movement and fixed Pulsometer indicators on the dial, our Pulsometer bezel innovation eliminates the added costs associated with this feature. This offers greater value to athletes or medical professionals who opt to have on the fly heart rate monitoring mechanically. Furthermore, for those who use a diver's bezel for timing / timer function, the Pulsometer bezel can also perform the same task since it has a 12H triangle as well. This allows users to know when the timer started, making the Pacer watch even more versatile. Our aim was to create a watch that is both functional and practical in the modern era. While the Diver's bezel is a traditional feature, it may not be as useful for most users who do not dive. Thank you, Dilon (Mancheront)
I think it's a nice feature and I like the dial layout. But I can hardly imagine a professional athlete checking their pulse in this way. Not in the 21st century. So it's a lovely feature, but an emergency one, in my opinion. Keeping my fingers crossed for your next designs.
@@tophorable Thank you for your kind words. Pretty much all divers in the 21st century uses specialized digital dive watches too ;) While it's true that many professional athletes today use specialized digital devices to monitor their heart rate, I believe that the pulsometer feature can still be a useful tool for fitness enthusiasts and recreational athletes. For me, having a mechanical indicator feature on a watch, whether it's a pulsometer or something else, is a celebration of the soul of the mechanical machine. It's a reminder that not everything needs to rely on electrical current, and that there is beauty in the simplicity and precision of mechanical instruments. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and I hope that my future designs continue to appeal to watch enthusiasts and collectors like yourself.
I like that. Looks to me as an analog equivalent to an electronic sensor. Although i have a tremendous bias for divers it's always interesting to see something else, a pulsometer feature in this case.
Hi Dilon, Will you respond to Gary's (I Like Watches) follow-up video on his review of the Pacer and your request to remove it? Would love to hear your side of this.
This looks like a near perfect physician's/medics tool watch. The date and 24 hour time are great for note timing and the pulsometer makes it unique and personalized to your field. Really adds some fun and usefulness to the watch.
My only problem (as a physician) is that the seconds hand in this case is constantly running. Waiting until it hits 12 can introduce a wait while taking a pulse, which is not something I really do- typically I'll go off a 5 or 10 (whichever is closer), and count out heartbeats in 10 or 15 seconds, then multiply by 6 or 4 respectively. It's not super accurate, but enough for the outpatient setting. Make it a chronograph style resettable seconds hand with a running seconds hand somewhere and it would be more useful. I know the Vario Medic, for example, does the same way and I have the same issue there.
You can tell this one has been a passion project. I congratulate him on the accuracy to detail and doing something different even if it does mimick the Rolex. Best of luck with it!
Fair review 👍. Not just any sub case either, it is a shame it is the very wide lug version. If the rather pointless 24 hour indicator was the date instead, swap to the narrow lug 40mm case and maybe offer a count down bezel as an alternative.
@@davisantos3431 I can't speak for others, but I think the wide lugs are ungainly and it makes the bracelet look too narrow (perhaps why Rolex widened the lugs to 21mm on later versions). Of course your opinion is just as valid as mine 👍
I like the attention to detail and seems like you get the quality for what you pay for. Appreciate the watch assembly in Switzerland, I’m sure the QC process is top notch. Anyone who has monitored product manufacturing will know how important these things are. Not easy.
This one’s not for me, I’m afraid. But the thoughtfulness behind that channeled case back and his attention to detail make this a brand to keep an eye on.
I think anyone who creates a watch on their own back is a person who deserves a round of applause 🤙 it reminds me of an Orient watch I believe. The one with the power reserve at the top of the dial. 👏
I have such admiration for anyone who creates a watch and adds to the watch community, and I've never written a negative comment before, but I have to say this particular model takes the award for the most illogically designed watch I've seen in a long time. Start with an obvious submariner case, with no case curvature, so it sits like a flat board on the wrist, and add male end links just for good measure (but don't drill the lugs). Use a butterfly clasp which is everyone's (ok my) least favorite clasp, and then on top of that add a completely superfluous security fold-over. (But engrave "stainless steel" on it not once, but *twice*!) Make the least interesting dial you can - all printed nothing applied, with two of the most hated complications, and use the ugliest, most generic all-white hands you can find and still manage to make the whole thing not very legible. Use a great movement, Miyota 9+, that is notable for being thin, but make the whole thing 14mm thick anyway (but still only get 100m WR for all that thickness). Make a nice looking bezel, but make it a pulsometer?? Well, at least now people with Tachymeters on their bezels will finally have someone else to laugh at.
Everything is interesting and well-made. I particularly liked the handset, because it's basic and does the job easily. If i can give two cents, a diver version with a dive bezel, 200m and perhaps no 24-hour sub-dial would be quite a sight for sure.
Definitely not a fan of power indicators, but after watching this I’m quite taken with it. Overall I think this is a pretty good effort,so we’ll done!👏🏼 Would I buy one? I’m on the fence but my interest is peaked. 🤔💭
Big kudos to anyone who has the drive to turn their passion-project into something tangible and marketable. So I'm not trying to diminish Dilon's efforts here, but I don't think the end product is something I would purchase. #1 You see far too often both big brands and microbrands are slaves to the movement in terms of how their dial is laid out and designed. I find it a little unusual that such a long journey and a very specific movement choice landed on a Miyota that uses a 24hr indicator. Does ANYONE use or want this feature? (Tell me if you do, because I see very little use for it personally) #2 I don't love the branding or text placement. The brand name sounds like any of a hundred Chinese-based brands using a European name to suggest a different origin. A portmanteaux of 'Sleeve' and 'Blacksmith' in French?... I *kind* of get it... 'sleeved blacksmith'... a white-collared individual who doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty, building and creating things... the Tony Starks and Bruce Waynes of the world (minus the crime fighting, perhaps?) I guess that's where that's leaning? Because the 'Our Journey' section of the website gives us the translation, but fails to delve any deeper than that. Also... why in French?? 🤷🏻♂ #3 I think the mistake that many micros make is to design their personal 'dream watch' so to speak, focusing on highly specific features rather than a widely marketable product. Perhaps this is 100% the watch that Dilon dreamt of making, and hits every mark for him. But I think there are some bold choices here (the butterfly clasp, the pulsation bezel, the power meter, etc.) that may or may not be to the liking of a large number of customers. And that may not be Dilon's goal at all. Maybe he is targeting those 100 other people on the planet for whom this watch hits the spot exactly. If that's the case, then congratulations on your achievement. #4 If this had been packaged with a case and bracelet that weren't almost entirely Sub-inspired, perhaps I would be more interested in this first offering.
Turning your passion project into something tangible is great... sometimes. In all things you have to accept failure as a key ingredient to learning. This first product is pretty bad and Dillon would have been better served saving time and getting an initial product developed more simply instead of trying to do everything 110%. Accepting less than perfection is actually a hard learned skill. Having a willingness to fail and iterate is more important than hiding away while you seek to create the greatest product - because ultimately, no project is perfect. You don't know what you don't know. Dillon probably had many big ideas that were thrown out during the development of this watch but some lessons are only learned when a final product is sold. Would have been well served going a simpler path for an initial launch. This is an oddity for a watch - to me it looks like a watch designed by someone who has never seen a watch but is designing it based off a description found in a book. It also looks like a Pagani designed watch due to how basic everything is...except Pagani gives you a dive style clasp which I greatly prefer on sport watches.
I have to agree with your comment on the 24-hour meter. You can argue that any number of features and complications (or watches in general) have a very limited purpose in the modern era, but even with all that, I love watches and all the ridiculous complications they come with but yet have always found the 24-hour meter distractingly superfluous. Go figure 🤷♂
I'm sorry, but I see nothing about this watch that would necessitate having it made from factories all over the world. If you just pick one quality factory, you'd probably save a substantial amount of money. Additionally, I think the owner should maybe have showed his design to a few people for some feedback. It isn't terrible, but it is a little goofy.
Seems like very good value for the money though. Pity there is not a different bezel option, I would have little use for the pulse meter. I do use a dive bezel to time things, not diving as I can't swim, so would only know how long it took me to drown😂
Sad to say that the combination of unusual complications means something here for everybody to dislike. For me, it's the 24 hour register - surely the most pointless of all complications.
Surely most (all?) complications are pointless. All you need is time, and a possible date . GMT? just move the hands. Moon phase? Decorative. Even lume is pointless to a degree. But what else can these watches do other than be for show. A Casio after all does all that is actually necessary.. or a phone.
@@mankdemelord6974 The more I watch these channels the more I realise that. Don't get me wrong, I like watching the channel, and I like 'looking' at watches, but I think 99% of the watch game is just as pointless as the complications! :)
About that rotating pulse bezel - so I guess I'm a nurse (or maybe just some weirdo that like taking peoples pulse?) looking at the watch on my left hand, my right hand on the patients wrist, I can't be bothered to wait for the seconds hand to sweep to 12 o'clock, so I rotate the bezel with my third hand? Or maybe I twist the patients arm into a strange position where I can use my left hand to find the pulse while at the same time being able to view the watch, keeping my right hand free to rotate the bezel to a good starting point? It's a cool looking watch but the complications seems pretty pointless except for the power meter. The 24 hour sub dial would be awesome as a GMT but since I don't work in a coal mine I rarely need my watch to tell me if local time is 10 am or pm, and I have to say that I'm a bit slacking on checking out peoples heart rates too..
It's an impressive achievement and hats off to Dillan. As someone else has said it reminds me of an Orient which might not be what Dillan wants to hear. I think the price is a major issue here, with so many more well known makes out there like Christopher Ward and the value they manage to give for similar money. Good luck to Dillan.
Congrats on the watch, I’m jealous of this achievement. I’m mostly impressed with the caseback, well done. The watch dial is a bit empty for my taste (missing 3,6,9,12) otherwise I might have been tempted to buy one. Still, very nicely done sir!
It does appear to have impressive attention to detail. I can't say its combination of style and features is something that appeals to me though. I wish him success with it!
I don't see submariner apart from the lugs. I immediately thought of Orient. Pretty cool watch though! I think the only thing that bugs me is how bold the text is on the ceramic bezel. I'd maybe tone that down a bit. Doesn't seem as bad on the steel bezels
I didn’t realise I had ocd until I watched this. A lot of beautiful and original touches to be commended. For me, the dial is a bit marmite, I don’t like the swoosh between 11 and 1, never seen the attraction of power meter at this position. I wish him well
I keep seeing Orient Star was so sure this was the one you'd make a likeness with 😅 the date window to me is not well integrated and the price is not competitive.
I find the dial a bit too empty, too much negative space. The power reserve makes this more of an Orient Star than a Submariner. But in either case, not very noteworthy in terms of design choices.
I quite like it. Nice clasp and interesting case back. The power reserve ‘smiling’ at 12.00 is rather off putting however. Would’ve liked a smaller reserve indicator at 9.00,leaving the 12.00 space for the brand name or motif, with a more pronounced 12.00 marker. Case/bezel thickness ratio is also a bit 🫤
I think power meters are a useful complication but I wouldn’t have one take up a third of the dial, especially if you are not going to make it look pretty. Definitely missing some texture and a bit of colour. Something akin to a Hamilton khaki field maybe with the concentric circles and a red second hand? Seems to be a watch aimed at someone who actually needs a pulseometer not watch enthusiasts who enjoy looking at the face of their watches.
I think the design is great, beautifully balanced. Yeah the case shape is v close to a Sub, but the dial is so different there's zero danger of confusion.
It’s an interesting watch. Like others, my mind went more to an Orient Star rather than a sub. Unfortunately, at 14mm thick, that’s a no for me. Good luck.
@@DC-uf6ve Yes, he is a dude I watch occasionally who repair's watches and is extremely good at it.He has made his own watch . An ex British Army Major.
Not exactly. Sub homages are a dime a dozen. This is something different. The case shape and bezel profile are unique. Also, what part bins are you looking through. First watch I've seen with a Myiota 9132. Pretty sure that was a special order.
I would rate it a more than reasonable first effort. I think it is different enough. I suspect it is the cost element that will be the most challenging aspect as to whether it is a success or not.
Nice looking watch but he definitely should have went with a swiss movement to justify the price. I have a Davosa and a Revue Thommen that didn't cost as much as this watch with better movements in them.
Wow, probably the first watch I’ve seen that is basically a homage to an Orient Star. Not a slight, I have an Orient flieger on my wrist as I type this. Just saying. The heart rate bezel reminds me of the Sinn EZMs that are marketed toward EMTs/paramedics. Cool. So, for the win, is that bezel reeding. Looks great. And the case back is cool. Not a project that is for me, but nice.
I'm surprised at the submariner comparison. I agree that looking at the face I can see the comparison to a submariner in case shape but that's where it stops for me. The side profile is quite different and the dial is quite different. I think it reads like some Orient Star dress watches. It's also got punchy contrast that I associate with the moon watch. My moan would be that I believe the indices are a touch short, I would have liked them to project towards the center of the dial just a tiny bit more and also to maybe increase their width a bit.
Thanks for the review. Interesting looking watch but definitely not my cup of tea. I suspect it will appeal only to a niche market. A Swiss made watch with a Japanese movement? Not sure who this will appeal to. I wonder if he should have done some surveys of watch lovers to guage what motivates people to buy a watch.
It's very distinctive, clearly one man's labour of love. I like the power reserve, but date & 24 hour subdial spoil it imho. Good luck to him tho, the brand has potential 👍
Really didn’t get Submariner vibes at all. If I did, I may have liked it more. Just had a lot of things I didn’t like. It’s a bummer because I was hoping I would! Even the pulsometer really wouldn’t be used by anyone. Count heartbeat for 15 seconds, multiply by 4. Easy peasy. Thanks for the review. Great as always Jody!
Very nicely done. Packaging akin to Omega imo and very impressive. All in all it looks great but not quite my style. Perhaps it will find customers among medical professionals?!
@@JustOneMoreWatch Hi Jody. If you are planning your own brand, really hope it would be in my price range. Seen some lovely watches l would have loved to own,but couldn't afford em 😪
Strange choice of features and complications... why the cardiac counter and the confusing 24 hr sub dial? Also, what's the point of the high bezel? And why assemble in Switzerland if you're not using a Swiss movement? It's definitely an interesting piece, but at the price point there are soooo many choices which don't leave you scratching your head...
@@jameslow5738 I take umbrage at people who don't dive but wear dive watches. Don't pretend to be something that you're not; it's the dive version of stolen valour.
I think it’s one man’s idea of perfection. The pulsations bezel is interesting, the power meter and the 24 hour dial just look out of place next to each other given that they’re different shapes. Maybe if the 24 hour dial tapered as it went it would work better but as it sits, it just looks clunky. The reef bezel (I think that’s what Jody said it’s called) is awful. I hate so much the look of it. The crown with the indent is nice, and the bracelet looks great. Interesting choice on the movement as well.
Clearly a watch made by someone with very specific design ideas, but I do fear that with that combination of features, it probably won't appeal to a lot of people.
If I needed a pulse meter I would consider it. But if that movement only has a 35 hour power reserve, it needs a lower price by $100 USD or a different movement with at least a 40 hour reserve, imo.
This seems like something that should've been a one-off mod. I really can't imagine what the target market is for people who want such quirky features while also wanting a knockoff sub
Not a fan of power reserve subdial even on Grand Seikos. I think pulsometer on submariner lookalike is a missed opportunity. Could've been done better on dress watch just like Seiko Metronome imho.

It's an impressive achievement and hats off to Dillan. As someone else has said it reminds me of an Orient which might not be what Dillan wants to hear. I think the price is a major issue here, with so many more well known makes out there like Christopher Ward and the value they manage to give for similar money. Good luck to Dillan.
that handset is excellent. many watches would benefit from the simplicity of those. also that case back looks really interesting.
Respect for him pursuing his passion and creating the watch he wanted but i doubt there are too many people with the same tastes.
Its a nice looking watch when you take in all the details.
Cool piece. Lots of things I like. Some I don't. The dial seems simultaneously sparse and busy
I wish him well
When you don't know the difference between OCD and OCPD ...
I keep seeing Orient Star was so sure this was the one you'd make a likeness with 😅 the date window to me is not well integrated and the price is not competitive.
Hmm ... I'm conflicted on this one. I think it's too busy, but I also really like the originality and the not-a-diver bezel.
Yeah... Normally not a fan of power meters but this is so distinctive and interesting I probably would
I find the dial a bit too empty, too much negative space. The power reserve makes this more of an Orient Star than a Submariner. But in either case, not very noteworthy in terms of design choices.
I liked this watch. I like the fact he chose something different, something that has life saving utility, a first responder's tool.
Lovely looking watch, hope he makes a success of the brand.
CONGRATGULATIONS on you PHD absolutely amazing achievement, doing this and that wow what a legend. I salute your ethic DR, truly impressive.
Case/bezel thickness ratio is also a bit 🫤
i actually really like this one, all of the details make it a more interesting version of a sub
Nice design, looks high quality. Well done!
I think power meters are a useful complication but I wouldn’t have one take up a third of the dial, especially if you are not going to make it look pretty. Definitely missing some texture and a bit of colour. Something akin to a Hamilton khaki field maybe with the concentric circles and a red second hand?
Seems to be a watch aimed at someone who actually needs a pulseometer not watch enthusiasts who enjoy looking at the face of their watches.
the watch is Maravilhoso...Congrts...
Nice review as always, the bezel doesn't turn?
The white dial is absolutely beautiful.
A good 1st watch but the claps and the height is a non starter the case back is very nice and original.
I think the design is great, beautifully balanced.
Yeah the case shape is v close to a Sub, but the dial is so different there's zero danger of confusion.
For me the watch looks very good!! It clearly looks premium as well 🎉
interesting how one man's idea of perfection can be completely different from another man's idea of perfection.
It’s an interesting watch. Like others, my mind went more to an Orient Star rather than a sub. Unfortunately, at 14mm thick, that’s a no for me. Good luck.
Splendid first effort!
That's a watch i really want to like. Attention to details, passion project, etc, all good but i don't. It doesn't scratch any itches.
this looks very similar to my Orient Star Retrograde SDE00002B0, if you ask me. i dig it
There is a ex Army Major who is a re trained watch repairer and he has made a watch as well. Called the MAJOR Sea Wolf.
That's Richard wassisface innit?
@@DC-uf6ve Yes, he is a dude I watch occasionally who repair's watches and is extremely good at it.He has made his own watch . An ex British Army Major.
@@turbyoulance Yeah Richard Perret or somrthing. The Sea Wolf is just a PVD Rolex copy for me. I'm sure it's decent though.
I understand going for your own vision, there's so many blatant copies out there make it yours but with an off the shelf case?
White diel Black ceramic bezel I'd definitely buy that combo
I’d love to get one for my brother, he’s a doctor and I owe him big time. He saved my foot.
7 years? Looks like he went in to a spare parts bin and made a watch out of whatever fitted together on a rainy Sunday afternoon!
Harsh, but exactly what I was thinking.
Not exactly. Sub homages are a dime a dozen. This is something different. The case shape and bezel profile are unique. Also, what part bins are you looking through. First watch I've seen with a Myiota 9132. Pretty sure that was a special order.
@@Tyler-sl6vg Bezel profile, yeah. But case shape is classic Rolex.
The white versions appeals to me, but I won’t wear anything thicker then 13mm and prefer 11-12mm
Is it a watch for doctors who work in caves or at the poles during the polar night? Otherwise, why is there a 24 hour scale?
Most medical documents are timed with 24 hour time rather than AM/PM designations. This may have been the reason.
Very Orient Star vibes for me. I have no problem with the power reserve but the 24 hour indicator is silly.
White dial looks fabulous.
Thats quite a nice looking ticker. But l really don't like or see the need for a 24hr sub dial.
It's very distinctive, clearly one man's labour of love. I like the power reserve, but date & 24 hour subdial spoil it imho. Good luck to him tho, the brand has potential 👍
Love it buying it - reminds me of that delicate German brand Temption…
Really didn’t get Submariner vibes at all. If I did, I may have liked it more. Just had a lot of things I didn’t like. It’s a bummer because I was hoping I would! Even the pulsometer really wouldn’t be used by anyone. Count heartbeat for 15 seconds, multiply by 4. Easy peasy. Thanks for the review. Great as always Jody!
Very nicely done. Packaging akin to Omega imo and very impressive. All in all it looks great but not quite my style. Perhaps it will find customers among medical professionals?!
I'm not 1st or 2nd but I've been a loyal fan for over 3 years. I cant wait to learn more about your watch brand that's in the works.
Coming soon Scott! Prototypes are well on the way.
@@JustOneMoreWatch Hi Jody. If you are planning your own brand, really hope it would be in my price range. Seen some lovely watches l would have loved to own,but couldn't afford em 😪
Not bad. I recon the next watch will be brilliant. Cheers.
Reckon.
Good for him, I wanna supercase Power Reserve like I want an extra cranial aperture but im difficult and capricious......
Nice effort. I think a 22MM band would provide better visual symmetry.
Jody - can you please comment on the bezel action? Any wobbliness?
Hey mate! I had no issues with the ones that I was sent. Cheers!
I'm digging this. It's like an inexpensive, minimalist Submariner watch. Good stuff. Nice design
Except that it's *not* a dive watch ... or are you one of those tools who wears dive watches 'just for the look'?
@@halfsourlizard9319 are you one of those tools who judges an individual’s preference of watches?
@@jameslow5738 I take umbrage at people who don't dive but wear dive watches. Don't pretend to be something that you're not; it's the dive version of stolen valour.
@@halfsourlizard9319 so I guess the Daytona is only limited to race car drivers
I think it’s one man’s idea of perfection. The pulsations bezel is interesting, the power meter and the 24 hour dial just look out of place next to each other given that they’re different shapes. Maybe if the 24 hour dial tapered as it went it would work better but as it sits, it just looks clunky. The reef bezel (I think that’s what Jody said it’s called) is awful. I hate so much the look of it.
The crown with the indent is nice, and the bracelet looks great. Interesting choice on the movement as well.
7 years of perfection and still can't put a black date disk on a black dial...
I think white would have been better, instead of the Miyota's slightly silver one.
White looks ok. There are alr other white elements on that dial
Sounds like a wasted life.
What a mistake that even Submariner and Nautilus has. When will we learn this is not a mistake??
I wish more brands would match the date disk with the dial color. Especially when a watch costs a pretty penny or a million pretty pennies....
I like it oddly.
Usually I don't like this style of watch.
Seiko springdrive power meter stuff turns me off.
I'd buy this watch but I can't, its nice
Cool watch, above my typical price range..
It's nice, but it needs some color versions. Bright fun colors.
Clearly a watch made by someone with very specific design ideas, but I do fear that with that combination of features, it probably won't appeal to a lot of people.
I like the thin Speedmaster esque like hands.
Not a wide lug fan and the hands seem dwarfed in there , but kudos achieveing his dream.
If I needed a pulse meter I would consider it. But if that movement only has a 35 hour power reserve, it needs a lower price by $100 USD or a different movement with at least a 40 hour reserve, imo.
Hi Bert, it has 40hrs power reserve.
Curious your thoughts on Dewitt watches. Cant find any watch cannel really talking about them. Super expensive but some of them are WILD
Why not putting any lume in the triangle on the bezel insert...? 🤔
A well done watch, but I can't see & I don't think you covered why an architect created a watch surely of more use to a doctor?
This seems like something that should've been a one-off mod. I really can't imagine what the target market is for people who want such quirky features while also wanting a knockoff sub
Not a fan of power reserve subdial even on Grand Seikos. I think pulsometer on submariner lookalike is a missed opportunity. Could've been done better on dress watch just like Seiko Metronome imho.
