Everybody sang - while cooking - and I had been rock with brit pop - Fab Four - faboulous Ella, Sarah, Louis Armstrong, The Voice, Duke, but also Rossini's operas, neapolitan melodies and many others classics - Mozart, Chopin and so. On stage, I had the feeling to be at home.

Jazzmeia has a great/ superb voice since Betty Carter, Abbey Lincoln, Nina Simone etc. Got his own style on scat, mimic & voice etc. She will go further more on this jazz planet !! Jazzmeia is the musical granddaughter of Betty Carter and Jon Hendricks. And the young sister of Dianne Reeves. This just, in my opinion, her vocal background and footprint. Actually, Jazzmeia is more than that. She is a new planet and we are lucky to ear and see her. Thank you miss Horn and thank you WDR Big Band :)

We didn't get the chance to see Jazzmeia at Jazz at Lincoln Center because of the lockdown. This sort of makes up for it. Great concert! Will we be able to get to see the concert with NY Voices and the WDR Big Band?
I'm quite sur your neighbor is not on pitch like Jazzmenia :) Nor she has the same terrific swing and time. She drive the whole orchestra "just" with her singing :)
Someone knows the artistic and musical education of Jazzmeia ? Did she played piano or wind instrument ? She sings like an orchestra. Her beat is llike a metronome, uncommon among singers. She can conduct a big band, just singing.
According to my experience it is not true that a metronome beat is uncommon amongst JAZZ singers - at least amongst good jazz singers, and I know quite a few of those ❤
j'aime sa voix, son physique dynamique, et aussi son déguisement très anachronique, parfait pour une scène d'opéra ...... une grande artiste... (ceux qui ne sont pas d'accord n'ont rien compris, cette chanteuse est vraiment géniale, pas une contrefaçon, une superbe voix qui fera carrière ! ) néanmoins, en dehors des très beaux standards du jazz.... la dérive "très à la mode" qui nous fait ingurgiter ces logorrées de militantisme infantilisant m'irrite ... 🔵⚪🔴 Etre créatif, c'est innover, (j'ai cru détecter dans pas mal de textes la résurgence d'une pseudo anticulture w..o...k...e ! ? un fond de commerce consensuel qui rapporte....mais je me trompe surement )
Tu t'intéresses à la musique et tu écoutes très attentivement, - alors quel est le rapport entre les vêtements d'une musicienne et la musique ? Ce n'est pas un déguisement, Jazzmeia a des racines africaines et le démontre dans ce concert.
