He is a green anthropomorphic hedgehog & a Royal Prince who was born to Queen Aleena The Hedgehog & King Jules The Hedgehog in Christmas Island along with his siblings, Sonic The Hedgehog & Sonia The Hedgehog. Manic may be a green hedgehog like Scourge, but he don't like exactly like him. Manic was first appeared in Sonic 1999 TV series called, Sonic Underground.

Shadow is the Ultimate Lifeform. And his Nintendo counterpart is Dark Link. And unless you are prepared for him like Sonic was he would win.
In my opinion you would win. But I'm ok with either one. You are my favorite hedgehog though.
Manic would need many tricks up his sleeves to beat Shads.
