I can understand why the creator would want Node to know how to play the game before using it, seeing as how videos of people having trouble with the game were on reddit recently and he probably doesn't want people thinking its a bad/difficult game.
Because there people who get triggered if you don't show how to use a gun properly and "safely", if the guy let it loose he could have problems with this people, isn't the first time i see this situation hickok45 and demolitionwranch got in trouble with that, like making poses aiming to the camera, without clearly showing that the gun was empty in safe without bullet in the chamber and finger out of the trigger
Is just a excuse for people who think they are making "apology" to weapons and "violence" trough videos and video games and it seens the creator is aware of that

yeah it was a good idea of him to teach D first hand. In the end of the day this is a military simulator so you can't just go in CoD style and expect to ace the game.

Yeah what the guy above said. It is a limitation in the unity engine that only causes the left eye to show. The developer is looking for work around to it though.
DevilDogGamer had that same issue. I think he just started aiming through his left eye on his videos.
Give it a few years and we will have 64 player AAA Battlefield version of this.

Is it possible to record gameplay from the steamvr mirror? Because you can mirror the right eye in steamvr and show it on your desktop.
wish they have a gun-like controller. For you know..more immersion.
Once this kind of thing becomes more mainstream, you bet your ass people will start making military style shells to mount your controls in for immersion. That or make mil-style weapons that are actually controllers. If they don't... hello business opportunity.

For some reason, the view that they can record is only the left eye, so, unless they shoot lefthanded, no. But they are using the sights. Also, Niko only said the 4x scope was useless in the killhouse because it was so close quarters.

they were aiming down sights. Unity VR (or atleast for this game) can only record from the left eye.
I am pretty sure that the video is recorded from their left eye so because they aim with their right eye we dont see through the eye that looks through the scope. That is why it looks like they are hip firing.

Not really 😂 I think it's way better with a smaller amount of players so it's not as fast paced and arcade like.
But you've got 8 people walking around a huge empty map. The amount of players doesnt make it arcadey, imo. The gameplay is what does that. And this game's pretty slow and methodical.

+Dedcec Legion Movement is controlled using the left thumb pad on the controller. Similar to the steam controller trackpad.

can't wait for VR to become the new "thing" and we get badass battlefield games to play. There was a movie some years back and the premise was people never left home, they just hooked into this virtual chair thing and controlled robots. They got all fat and what not. That will be us in about 10 years. Anyways, I never played any VR recently. How do you move your character forward obviously you can't walk while wearing a headset?
They're using the touchpad on their non dominant hand's controller. It's like an XBOX or Playstation stick, except it's stationary.

They can't. There's no feature to enable that yet.

I've seen dozens of UA-camrs play VR games, and none of them have recorded from the right eye. Several have said it isn't possible yet.
There's a bug in this game where you can't record from he right eye sadly, so most of the footage for this game will be from the left eye.

You know, SteamVR will mirror either the right eye, the left eye, or both; you don't need to record your non-dominant eyes!

ya probably.... you can't record from the other eye but apparently that eye becomes a scope when you raise the gun to your eye.

+Heaton CY we are using the optics but the game records left eye dominant while all of us shoot right eye dominant. I contacted the creator and he's working on an option to swap it so you guys will be able to see the angle we do

I've put roughly 10 hours into this game. It is one of the best games for the Vive I've played. The amount of time you can soak into it is insane. Can't wait for future updates!

I don't think many machines would be able to handle super Battlefield 1 Hyper Graphics at 90 fps on each eye, dude. The developer has to limit it so people with less end rigs can actually run it, and don't have to have dual 1080s.

How does the vive handle walking forward and stuff
For this game, you use the touchpad on one of the controllers to move. I'm waiting on my Vive controller mount to try this game, but trying it out in the shooting range it was pretty smooth movement. My only issue is getting used to the movement, I get very slightly off balance on occasion.

There is an option in vivecraft to move just like in this game. its working great. never gotten motion sick in this game or vivecraft. but motion sickness seems to be more prevalent for elders, im only 27 and also drive a motorcycle daily... so i guess that counts in my favor.
Some people get dizzy when they have to move with a controller especially if you try to strafe around a corner, so a lot of games use the teleport mechanics because it doesn't cause dizzyness.
Im just glad that you're actually walking around in this game and not on rails or teleporting around

This game + graphics and animation overhaul = a game I need.
I'm assuming this is recording the left eyes video or something, hence why we never really see them aim down sights. Also how much do these VR units cost? I'm assuming its not too bad if there are lobbys open XD
Each vive costs 800usd and a pc to run can cost anywwhere from 800dollars low end and have to run r all on low, 1,400 and have it all be fine but some games will lag, and 2,000 and have like 0 performance issues. I have a pc thats inbetween 2k and 1.5k And it runs everything pretty well, so i would suggest a more midrange vr pc if you dont already have one, if you already have a computer it should only cost about 500 or 600 dollars to upgrade to vr ready. I personally would not recommend buying the vive if what you want is to have a great vr machine. If you want to be am early adopter or developer. This is the emergence of VR and it is glorious, but expensive, entry prices should drop in maybe a couple years, especially with the arrival of the psvr.
HTC Vive itself costs 799 USD, not mentioning the PC.
I think my PC will be fine, its quite beefy, so just the Vive headset.

you don't move fast enough for motion sickness to set in and you can see most of your body which lessons the effect of motion sickness
Yep, check out DevilDogGamer's first video of it, he talks about the motion sickness, there's no issues with it, same thing from everyone I've heard talk about the game.
well many games have the gamepad movement, but most people just dont use them :/
The Solus Project also has this kind of movement as well. I really like it. I'm damn sick of teleporting. It breaks immersion.
its cool, I like the gamebad movement more than teleporting, though it can get screwy with your head. Watched Devildoggamer play this game, he got surprised by his friend who was firing, he panics and ends up running his head into his bookshelf trying to get away. Since it still tracks where you actually are so you can do that. Still, goes to show, have plenty of room.

Actually we need devs who concentrate on making VR apps that focus on interacting with the VR world and acclimatization. Focusing on matching your exact arm movements in sync with in simulation arm movements.
It will all help is develop playable immersive interactions.
The first time I watched VR porn, I was naked and said woah! You can really feel the chick blowing you. But it was just my wife.
trust me when I say this. There are times after after a long VR session where I do not feel right, my hands feel like they are still in VR and I get some weird depth perception. That is only like 4 hours with the Vive, it really throws you off so I do not want to imagine what nervegear would do to your sanity

Imagine if you had to hold like real prototype guns, like the game comes with a real gun collection that imitates the game's gun store...And something like a running/jugging plate that adjusts its spin speed to the speed and direction you're running at..Plus the VR becoming like 9D and wet 4K graphics and like 18D headphones so you're literally in the game. I'm salivating just imagining this.

This game is so awesome! And the community is great. Just finished a 2 hr long session with a bunch of random people. We laughed a lot and kept it serious some rounds and other rounds we were just having knife fights 4on4.
Cant believe this game is made by one guy. If you have a HTC vive, buy this game now!
Oh, and for people who worry about motion sickness.. None of that for me, even though "Adri1ft" gave me tons of motion sickness, but that was also one of my first VR experiences so I might have gained some VR "Legs" since then.
