PaPaw is such an inspiration. My mother is 87 and in rehab right now and she's a tough old bird too. Jordan, it's so great to see a young man like yourself realize how lucky he is to still have his grandfather in his life! That's a wealth no one realizes! With him one day goes all the wisdom, the knowledge, and the unconditional love of a lifetime! I know you do Jordan but, talk to him while he is still here. Ask him about his childhood, history, how he and MaMaw met, what things were like back then, what things costs, what his dreams were, cause, after he is gone, it will be too late! Great job springing back PaPaw! So very proud of you! God says you have more to teach! ❤

Your Papaw reminds me of my dad. My dad is 94 years old, lives alone and takes care of everything himself. You just can't keep him down. I'm so happy to hear your Papaw is getting stronger and stronger. He's a real fighter and very independent like my dad.

My Dad is in a rehab center for the past year and just before Christmas his center had an outbreak in his ward. It was a tough time because no one was allowed to visit. Then this past March after three years avoiding CoVid the house got it so I wasn't able to visit my Dad. Sending you and your family ❤ and prayers.

Sending your Papaw and you many hugs, well wishes and everyone else to get well soon. Remind your Papaw that he has tons of stories to tell and tons of experiences that y’all need to vlog and make sure that everyone gets a copy too. Then do your parents and your siblings and keep it going. Any of your nieces and nephews will enjoy it later on and if you should ever have kiddos that would be a big deal to pass down all the family history. I wish I had done it with my parents.

Great news. I know what you meant about the biz at rehab. They essentially killed my brother. The rehab refused to block a A/C blowing directly on him. He asked several times. Got pnueniuna. Back to hospital. He'd had heart surgery. And WAS doing pretty good. THEN. I swear.. insurance ran out. They were busily determining if anymore $$ was left.
Papaw is blessed to have all of you, Jordan. What a blessing he has you for support, trips out and about. I'm reading Laura Dern's bio with her mom, Diane Ladd, Honey, Baby, Mine when Diane was sick and was told she only had 3 months to live due to asbestos affecting her lungs. They wrote a book together about their walks (Laura recorded all of them) at Palisades Park in Santa Monica. Her mom made a full recovery with these walks that strengthened her lungs as well as brought them closer together. As I'm reading it turns out Laura Dern's godmother is Shelley Winters. They talk about going to her house and spending many a day with one of their favorite people. Highly recommend the book as Shelley is mentioned throughout and I love that I can picture the home where you visited Shelley (thanks to you) as they talk about it in the book. Talking, walking, laughing, music and baseball is the best medicine! Continued prayers for Papaw and your family and safe travels with Scott on Route 66. Thank you for the update.

My aunt has Alzheimer's, and my cousins don't give a rat's behind about her. They want to dump her in a resting home and throw everything she owns in a dumpster! It's just disgusting! Once again, I pray for the very best for you and your family. You are a very special man.
Boy have you had a busy week! We really needed this update. Covid, son of a gun! I left my home only twice in 3 years and caught Covid both times. I'm so glad (and relieved) that Papaw is doing fine. He needs you especially right now. He loves you so and is so very proud of you, and you're such a good grandson. You're both blessed and lucky to have each other, and to have had the lifelong strong bond and relationship that you've had. We're lucky that you've shared it with us.❤

Prayers for papaw to continue improving! Very kind of you to pause for a while to be the one with him when he needed someone. My grandparents are all gone and I’m only in my 30s.
