that scene between Brienne and Sansa always makes me emotional not only because of brienne, but because that was a direct parallel between Sansa and Catelyn, she said those same words to brienne in S2 🥺
Just found you guys but I've already binged your reactions up to this point and gotta say you're the best GOT reactors I've ever watched! This show is in my top three along with Breaking Bad and Lost. Never be afraid to cry Aaron!
Melisandre is around 400 years old. she's feeling alone, she has lost her faith and she's feeling failure. she took off her mask and went to bed, it's like she's accepting death after everything she believed in didn't come true.
Fire React! The thing about Melisandre is that she honestly tries to interpret the visions, but she is often wrong. That's why she arrived so Catatonic to Castle Black, she had the realization she was wrong all this time.
Yes she was wrong in her interpretations but correct in what she saw in the visions. She did see Stanis north of the wall, and she did see him at castle black she did see him in a battle in the snow and she did see the Bolton banners burning. But all these things were snippets in separate visions. Her problem was that her belief and faith in the Lord of Light was overshadowed by her belief in herself. She was putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. She was so caught up with Stannis being the prince that was promised. She had a vision of him in a battle in the snow and just assumed he won that battle because in another vision she saw Bolton banners burning. She didn't even think to question her own conclusions as to whether the visions might not be as directly related as she believed. Her confidence in herself and her faith is broken and she has been humbled. And that is key!!! Because Thorus of Myr was completely opppsite as a red priest. He was humble, felt he was a lowly drunk not worthy of his Lord he served. He saw things in flames but was more cautious in his ability to fully understand what they meant. And with this personality he has humbly cried out to his Lord of Light, feeling otherwise useless and in doing so has been able to ressurrect a man. Melisandre was slightly envious of his ability when they met earlier in the show...but he attributed it simply to the LoL rather than any great power he had himself. So the key is, at this crucial moment, we see Melisandre's over-confident dramatic personality humbled...humble more like Thorus...😉
Is the Lord of Light real? We don't know. There is some supernatural stuff like the birth of a demon shadow baby and Melisandre being super old and so on. But why do the Gods need people who do their work? How can a priestess be wrong about her visions? Was it her fault or was the God of Light not able to deliver the message in a definite way? Or is Melisandre being wrong part of the plan? Same with the leeches in season 2: Say three names and they will die... just wait...
Omg I laughed soooo hard with you guys looking at the gorgeous Red Woman before she took off her necklace. The look on your face when her Glamour magic stopped was priceless.
The main GoT filming locations were Croatia (Kings Landing and many other Westeros and Essos places), Northern Ireland (Winterfell, Castle Black and other northern parts of the Seven Kingdoms...), Iceland (North of the Wall). Some other locations were filmed in countries like Spain, Morocco, Scotland and others. The beauty of the locations takes the show to a whole other epic level. Watching the series I had to keep reminding myself that it was just a TV show and not a IMAX movie experience as it often looked like.
Around 28:45 it reiterates how important learning a foreign language can be. It can save your life!!! Knowing a language that others don't expect you to know is almost like a super power. I'm just a an average white girl from Oregon but when Arabic or Spanish or French come out of my mouth, when people around me aren't expecting it... it feels like a superpower...it's very empowering. In my humble opinion I wish everyone understood this...knowing american English is great but americans on average are falling behind due to our somewhat proud and ignorant ways. Sorry...didn't mean to go off on a mini soapbox. Just love it when Dany speaks Valyrian or Dothraki when they don't anticipate her understanding them.
There's an interview that the lady who played Sansa and the gentleman who played Theon did, where they describe the scene where they go through the frozen river and that was also REAL! they actually trudged through that cold water in real life, could you imagine?! Re-watch and you'll see that their rections were completely real, to the point that she says"no, I can't, I'll die" that was not in the script, it was real... so neat. Love you bro's, another great one
Melissandre is by and far my favorite character throughout the whole show, she’s much more complicated than meets the eye. Something I just wanted to add, in the final scene she gets nakey and crawls under the blanket, the first time in the show she’s ever been cold. Even when she’s knee deep in snow, she’s underdressed and not at all chilly. She talks about the fire burning within her, but finally her fire is burning low; she’s a changed woman after sacrificing Shireen, losing stannis, her faith is destroyed. What’s left of Melissandre when she loses her faith?
Your reaction at the end had me dying 🤣. Aaron's like, "She's crazy hot." Then he sees what the Red Woman really looks like and he's in complete shock. Dude literally got up and walked away scared and shooketh 😂. Brienne saving Sansa and finally protecting her is a beautiful moment. I get tears all the darn time for that scene ♥.
Y'all are SO lucky that you get to watch this in order. We had to wait, like... 1.5-2 years between seasons! And after the Red Witch necklace reveal, literally were all like, "WHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?!?!?!?! WE HAVE TO WAIT A WEEK?!??!?!"
@@perkibest22 Omg you're right! Literally ~10ish years of waiting altogether. 😂 It just occured to me that we watched a lot of the kids on the show (Arya/Sansa/etc) grow up in real time as we watched, yey people binge watching are watching these kids go from like 12 to 22 in a few weeks/months 🤣
It’s a unconfirmed fan theory but some people think the red priestesses with the necklaces such as Melisandre and Kanrava all date back to the doom of valyria 400 years ago.
cersei did what her father warned her against. he said in that episode before, "i distrust you because you're not as smart as you think you are" cersei has been playing the game with all the big names she actually forgot there are more common folk than there are highborn. she united them under a single name, and then gave them money and weapons. she thought she could outsmart the tyrell's by pulling the high sparrow's strings but she realized too late it was all a trap and had to watch as it snapped shut behind her- and all of kings landing is paying for it. she brought an unknown into the game and now everyone in that city is at the mercy of vile religious fanatics
You guys are literally my favorite reactors to this series. Yall earned a ride or die here once your journey is over. Any thoughts on what might be next after GoT?

Yep, its the same vow and exchange as Catelyn and Brienne grom s2. Just take a breather and think what a dark twisted road we've traveled. You felt so emotional over such a simple moment because of the road we traveled full of heartbreeak after heartbreak. It's the slowburn that makes these moments hit. Never forget that.
24:40 Tristain was honestly so dumb in that moment. 2 people who have outright told you they're going to kill you, and so you ready your sword and..... 🤔 step in between them, with your back to one? Lmao, such a dumb move.
First, starting to play the wrong episode my day! 😂 Second, the Sparrows are zealots which makes the dangerous because their only motivation is their "faith".

I may have done a little jump seeing that you uploaded your first season 6 reaction. I like that you said Myrcella is a lot like Jamie because I got that vibe too. And Cersei confirmed it with saying “she was nothing like me.” Still wish her and Jamie could’ve had a father-daughter relationship. It would’ve been sweet. Dammit, those hounds got my dog on alert. That Sansa and Brienne scene was beautiful!! It’s such a great parallel of when Catelyn said those same words to Brienne. I’m crying too, Aaron. Just a little something for the 2 of you to mull over. Recall the episode where Mellisandre is in a bathtub and Elise Baratheon walks in on her. Did you notice that Mellisandre isn't wearing her necklace in that scene???
I understand what you mean But this is what spoilers do .. Like Mike said the only spoiler he knew about the Show is Jon Snow dies and also these day's it is getting harder for people who have not watched the show the talk out there about new shows coming to HBO If Mike and Arron was watching Game of thrones when it was coming out I would say they both would of had the same feelings as we all did
Imagine all the history of Westeros that Melisandre has lived through and survived. She chose crazy life as a magic user, a follower of the Lord of Light, and knows its mission, risks, and consequences. She thinks her time has come at last, finally aligned to the ultimate mission of the Lord of Light. And she was wrong. Time is taking its toll, and it’s running out for her. Love your reviews and reactions as always.❤
Melissandre is sooo old and has believed in the prophecy for so long, so rather than just let things play out and see the signs as they arise she's starting to fill in the blanks and trying to force things. Now she's seen that nothing she has done has worked and her beliefs have pretty much amounted to nothing she's completely lost her faith and, to me, just looks ready to die naturally and in her true form. Both your reactions to the reveal were priceless 😂
😂😂😂😂 The reactions to Melissandre at the end tho, that shot of Aaron by the AC 🤣 ☠️ I think that scene is there to show how powerful Melissandre is but also that she feels lost. I think there’s something in the way her hand kind of drops onto the mattress when she lays down that expresses exhaustion and utter defeat.
The idiots cancelled the Jon Snow series…I think there would be plenty of people who would watch it esp since HOTD has brought new fans to GOT so now it’s like being revived a bit and I think it would be successful, plus I just want Jon Snow again!
I crossed a freezing river like that once. I imagine if this were real with how North they are the temperature might be even lower than it was when I did it, but even doing what I did, by all means can confirm, awful. You either do it in your b-day suit and then air dry off [in winter] before you put your clothes back on, or you do what I did and embrace being an idiot or w/e and just cross with your clothes on, and then you get out the other side with wet a$$ clothes and shoes, and blah blah blah science that's actually worse wet clothes make heat pull away from your body even faster, so no joke it was so bad that I actually felt noticeable relief when I literally took my shoes and socks off and walked the rest of my trip barefoot on snow and ice, because even that was warmer than walking in my soaking wet shoes and socks. It was so bad. And I just did it to save time and not have to walk around it, it's not like dogs were trying to eat me. I was just in a hurry, so I decided to be an idiot. Protip: if you're worried your friends won't still be awake by the time you walk around it, maybe call your friends and warn them instead of playing chicken with life. I mean no frostbite or anything lucky me, but boy did it hurt. I mean trust and believe you don't exactly "get the idea" to take your shoes and socks off and walk barefoot in snow and ice. Your brain is shouting down at you "bruh, that's bonkers, if you're cold how is stripping going to help", but the pain is so bad that like some other unconscious part of your brain just forces your body to rip the wet clothes off anyway. Obviously I didn't exactly know enough science to know clothes would make it worse or else I wouldn't have done it, it just hurt so bad that I figured it out the hard way. "Ooh. Hey. I'm not just dying and thus loosing my mind. Somehow this actually hurts less". I believe they call that "field work". I do tend to imagine that if I would have had a longer walk from the river to my destination then I would have got permanent damage, luckily I only had about another mile or so before I was able to warm back up. Random shout-out to my friend and her parents, they washed my clothes and took care of me, you know who you are, you good people
You guys questioning “why Loras and Margaery” in the beginning- it wasn’t so much because of adultery as much as it was because Loras is gay. Most people wouldn’t care so much about this, although for highborns it was kind of taboo (even though a lot of them experimented too). But since the sparrows are religious, this is a severe crime, so that’s why Loras is in trouble. Margaery is only in trouble for lying to protect Loras.
Don't you dare disrespect Pod the Rod, he got a BIG...journey still ahead of him! 😎😁 speaking of, I bet Aaron's rod got deflated fast there in the end haha. About Melisandre, you can notice that in this episode she sits by the fire, and when going to sleep she had many warm blankets on the bed...remember how she said to Jon once "I am never cold" - at that time she was at the peak of her faith. Now, she feels like she can't get warm, it's like her inner energy/power/faith stuff is gone. She probably feels like her whole life is a lie, since her visions about Stannis were misleading.
Oh rayttttt just finished watching your Season 5 ep 10 and was about to sleep but then saw this 😬 i love seeing your reaction. P.s Mike without le beard feels weird for me 😅
Love you guys! One of the funniest duo reactors on here. Keep ‘em coming! Totally do House of the Dragon next. Melisandre is my favorite character (controversial I know). Her only POV chapter in the book is amazing. She’s waaay more complex of a character. I acknowledge she’s done horrific things and she’s done good things. But you have to think in a meta sense, if you were 400 years old, you’ve seen generations of families, kingdoms, loved ones, etc die. That would change a person. Her one true goal is to protect the living and defeat the dead. Her methods are extreme and unorthodox, but I’m sure our brains would be thinking differently if we were 400 years old about tons of things. She’s viewing this at 30,000 ft and we’re on the ground. You’ve seen the Lord of Light’s power - it is hard to deny that there isn’t something behind it. (GRRM has stated she is the most misunderstood character [along with Varys]).
"Is it weird I find her hotter now?" 😂 There are actually several clues in the books that she is not only ancient, but resurected, lie Baric Dondarrion.
“She’s so hot…”

Like Mike said the only spoiler he knew about the Show is Jon Snow dies and also these day's it is getting harder for people who have not watched the show the talk out there about new shows coming to HBO If Mike and Arron was watching Game of thrones when it was coming out I would say they both would of had the same feelings as we all did

I so look forward to your reactions!!!!
I think it's also implied in the books that she started out as a slave in Asshai, so her life was probably not easy whatsoever.
😂😂😂😂 The reactions to Melissandre at the end tho, that shot of Aaron by the AC 🤣 ☠️
I think that scene is there to show how powerful Melissandre is but also that she feels lost. I think there’s something in the way her hand kind of drops onto the mattress when she lays down that expresses exhaustion and utter defeat.
The idiots cancelled the Jon Snow series…I think there would be plenty of people who would watch it esp since HOTD has brought new fans to GOT so now it’s like being revived a bit and I think it would be successful, plus I just want Jon Snow again!
the play of light and shadows makes what??? Correct! - Illusions.
And one binds a spell with an artefact if he/she wants to stabilize it
Your hair looks good, A!
Lmao @melisandre reveal… omg too funny to hear Aaron salivating over removing her dress 😂 when are you guys doing Coldplay?
Yeah my boys back at it with season 6, just what I needed. Goodie goodie goodie!!!😊💚
Random shout-out to my friend and her parents, they washed my clothes and took care of me, you know who you are, you good people
I'm so happy Aaron cried this episode, cause I was kinda worried the show had broken him to the point where he had no tears left.
P.s Mike without le beard feels weird for me 😅
Me too. They both look good with it.
Melisandre taking that locket off is like hooking up with a girl at some club then seeing her next morning without make up
Love you guys!
Alister Thorn arranges the brutal killing of one of the most righteous characters....
Mike in his best valley girl accent "He sounds like a hater"
Cersei brought the sparrow and his posse to kings landing so it's on her imo
Yaasss good catch on the horse tracks from the dothraki hoarde!
The Night is Dark and full of Terrors
Melisandre is like freakin’ Mother Gothel lol!
Its sad how bad I've been waiting for this lol gonna watch it now at 6am before work
"Is it weird I find her hotter now?" 😂
There are actually several clues in the books that she is not only ancient, but resurected, lie Baric Dondarrion.
In season 2 she said to Stannis that she is fighting far longer than he is, or something like that.
bro I will not take any Pod slander
House of the Dragon is a prequel. It's set 172 years before GoT.
it's nothern ireland :)
SUGGESTION: remember to wear headphones on Episode 8.03. Its really important.
The Red Woman is the way she is because she's a fanatic.
