The more this theme of "reviving the dead" comes back in the show I can only remember Maomao's reaction when Suirei told her about her plans. I wonder if this is part of the overall plot and a massive foreshadowing from the author. This is the show I def look forward to the most every week 🔥
With the death of concubine Jin and Tao's impersonation scheme, this week offered yet another outstanding case. The emperor had so many concubines that they could really die and no one would know unless someone like Maomao looked into it. However, I'm hoping that more elaborate conspiracy theories will soon be developed. I appreciate any Maomao content, but I'd love to see more interconnected plot aspects, like the multiple three- to four-episode cases as this is what I enjoy Apothecary Diaries from the previous season. 🔥🔥🔥
I can't spoil anything, but just remember to re-watch the previous episodes later, it's crazy how many visual clues they've given already, and this is just the beginning of the season. 🤯

The next out the other next EPs will connect to it.
I mean, I wouldn't take for granted that this is a stand alone plot thread. Think of S1 where in the 2nd half we realized that the vast majority of previous mysteries we thought were one-off incidents were all connected.
We are only three episodes in.
The weird looking shroom is called Trichoderma cornu-damae (poison fire coral).
The cat, the frog will somehow come into play so many breadcrumbs so far can't wait and looks like Maomao will keep the coral looking mushroom for now.
The sickly person who was non-stop coughing last ep was that concubine Jin?
