Thank you, I am looking forward to moving to Manitoba
That’s amazing! Manitoba is a beautiful place with so much to offer. Wishing you all the best with your move💛
Note: you will probably have to wait several years to get a doctor. I found one after three years of weekly phone calls to all the clinics in town. Over six million people in Canada don't have a doctor these days. Doctors are retiring at an alarming rate and the government limits how many can attend medical school every year. You will have to wait several months to see a specialist, MRI, CT scan and you'll need a referral from a doctor for those. Yes, it's free, but you pay a certain percentage of your income towards health care when you file your annual tax return. And don't get me started on the 12+ hour waits in emergency because that's where everybody goes who doesn't have a doctor. Otherwise, it's a great country.
Thank you for sharing your experience! The healthcare system in Canada does have challenges, like long wait times to find a doctor or see a specialist. It’s good for newcomers to know this and to plan ahead.
For emergencies, wait times can be long, but walk-in clinics or telehealth services like Maple or TELUS Health can sometimes help.
Your insight is really helpful for anyone moving here. And yes, even with these challenges, Canada is a great place to live. Thanks for adding to the conversation!
"Free" must mean something different in Canadian English!
@@ramastarchild6804 You go to any hospital, doctor, have an operation, an MRI, CT scan, xrays, etc. it IS free. If you don't have taxable income, it IS free.
@@ramastarchild6804 "free" as in no fee to see doctors or do tests. However, a lot of medicine is not covered, and having cancer or other diseases can set you back thousands of dollars because they're not all covered by the government.
PLEASE don;t move to Canada. We're full
Number 1: don't come. Thanks for watching.
We say what? We do say eh a lot, but it is pronounced 'ay'. Your AI needs an update if you are going to discuss Canada. Mispronouncing eh is the most unCanadian thing anybody or any machine could do. Otherwise, I have enjoyed your video.
Thanks for pointing that out! You’re absolutely right, ‘eh’ is pronounced ‘ay,’ and mispronouncing it would definitely be unCanadian! I’ll make sure to get that right next time. I’m glad you enjoyed the video, and I appreciate the feedback.
Health care is not free!we pay taxes. It is the social,it's all about eing civilized human...get your ducks in row!!
Thanks for your comment! While it’s true that healthcare is funded through taxes, it’s often referred to as ‘free’ because most services don’t require payment at the time of use. It’s a system where everyone contributes to ensure healthcare is accessible for all. I hope that helps clarify!
