So today I wanted to start my review and criticisms of Warzone Urzikstan talking about all of the positive changes made in the update. Today's video is all about the bad and the ugly stuff that drives me crazy about this game.

On console you have to enable FidelityFX CAS sharpening (off by default) and crank it to 100 if you want any visibility. With this off the game looks extremely fuzzy and blurry even on PS5 and Series X because the dynamic res swings incredibly low in Warzone, let alone Series S and last gen. No idea why it's off by default.

the thing that makes the intro cut scenes cringe is the body language! esp solo queue - your soldier walks and moves like a kid going to school. their shoulders teeter and totter, they look like they're barely able to carry their bag, their gait is super lazy and way too casual for the context. glad you said something, i think it's really silly. i do enjoy the MP and the WZ modes, i think it's a couple patches away from being solid

Been getting into graphics programming lately and the graphics on Warzone are good, but at a distance, especially at high resolutions, you can tell the different optimization techniques. Old cod used to use fog very heavily to “mask” this sort of stuff, but you can’t really use fog in a giant open world map where visibility is a neccessity
I think the intro into warzone is because ps4,xbox players need more time to load in. It’s basically a loading screen to make sure everyone is linked together. Especially when they raise the player count in warzone up which is needed badly it takes forever to find people.
One thing i generally hate about Warzone is that it doesnt have its own SBMM. Warzone SBMM is tied to Multiplayer SBMM. Just because im good at multiplayer doesnt mean im good at Warzone. So because I didnt play alot of Warzone when it came out... and I never extensively played any BR game... i feel really lost. And because im matched up with guys who are obviously very seasoned Warzone players.. i never really get a chance to learn how to play Warzone the right way.
Play resurgence. The best parts of BR. Without the worst parts.
Shorter games, more action. You'll get better, faster.

I wonder if the sound effects ex. Running/ climbing ladders are sometimes turned on and off. More like whitelisted/blacklisted players get the better bargain. This game was rushed and unfinished. Every year this happens. I’m raising my brows now on how the devs are complacent EVERY YEAR. Activision has made it so the devs are in a time crunch every year. MWII was supposed to be a 2 year round game. Now no one talks about the game because this DLC showed up unfinished. I’m convinced people are being black/whitelisted for certain aspects in game ex audio or auto-aim or even getting shadow banned because activision needs the noobs to win also.
I actually love the wide variety of choices for weapons in CoD at the moment, I just wish the balancing was more like it was in MW2 where virtually every primary weapon (and even some pistols) were viable. I love making different loadouts and guns with different builds and camos, though. The average CoD player probably doesn't want to think too hard about those things.
I tried warzone for first time in 2 ½ years and deleted it after 6 games 😂

3 main issues for me which I think if they changed I’d be having nearly as much fun as Verdansk/WZ1
1. Bring back WZ1 vehicles.
2. Sort out the laggy servers in EU
3. The map is okay but the POI’s blend into eachother and they’re too similar
as someone who has played CoD back when it was CoD, I commend you for playing long enough to have pros and cons. Just watching these new CoDs is exhausting enough. I’m not even particularly old
I absolutely agree about the building design. Even as a sweat, i find it’s far better when there are buildings that are good for camping, as you know which buildings people are likely to be in, and you know where to look when moving around the map. It could be annoying when someone was holding top atc or hospital, but no one ever got shot from those buildings and thought how was i supposed to know someone was there. Without good camping spots/buildings to hold, people could be in literally any building, anywhere on the map, and UAVs are more of a crutch than ever for finding people, or even just not getting shot in the back.
Idek how QA testers even "forget" that the audio is non-existent and honestly I'm doubtful they even have QA
Number one most annoying thing about new WZ is definitely the thing you've mentioned in the video. So I'm shooting the guy, crack the shields, get 2x squishy hitmark and as I run towards to finish him off (I expect he is one shot at that point), all my shields are down and I die instantly. I call this a complete bs, makes me not wanna play the game at all!!!

It's a relief to see the pro and con videos be about the same length instead of the 'pros' running like 10-12 mins and the 'cons' running 45 mins plus. I may get back into Warzone this year, actually.

I've not played Warzone yet, as I mainly enjoy Zombies, but another glaring issue, at least for PC, is some sort of bizarre input delay. It's very pronounced when trying to use zip lines. When driving in Zombies the vehicle noise will fade out entirely and or the sound will be miles behind you.
You are the first person I've seen actually bring this up. It's a serious problem. I've seen inputs straight up drop or get mixed up even when I know that's not what I intended.
My biggest problem with Urzikstan is that while it's head and shoulders better than Al Mazra, It just feels way too generic to me. Verdansk (and even Caldera to some degree) had really cool POI's like Superstore, Prison, Dam, Stadium, Peak, Runway, etc.. Almost every section of Urzikstan is just another clump of small or medium sized buildings.
Your "boomer" issues, I also experience, especially with the map being so overwhelming with so much stuff going on that it doesn't feel useful anymore and the UI where you have your backpack, and perks, and tactical, and lethals, and streaks, and field upgrades. Things judt need to be consolidated. There's a similar issue with the variety of weapons and attachments like you said which contributes to not feeling on top of the game and not knowing what's going on which dissuades me from playing.

this thing around 9:00 and a bit before is one reason I quit CoD back in the day. We used to have a very poor name for them because every exit was an entrance. With maps that have no "safe-er" locations you're stuck dealing with a flat map. BF2045 or whatever it is has a similar problem. Any 3d movement, or such tools, flatten the terrain.
As someone with my own feline terrorist I appreciate the cameo, and I feel your pain. My cat is currently head butting me and biting my toes because I stopped petting her to type this.😞
I have similar cat problems. Have a little pillow for the cat to lay on in front of my keyboard between my hands. Otherwise she lays on the keyboard, rubs and turns the monitor, lays on the mouse pad, or gets on my tower and hits the power button. But I love her, fuzzy daemon

Totally agree. Impossible to hold anything, inconsistent damage and ugh the big one sbmm. I don’t want to have to sweat every game only being able to use the most busted gunes or in the extreme switch to controller for aim assist
A way to avoid the meta issue is to have guns / attachments collected on the ground like older BRs. Loadout drops would contain the default classes so that the playing field is even in that regard. I really miss this and am tired of the "new gun of the week" that someone has found is broken as hell and I have to use it or I don't have a chance.

Plunder great way to level guns. Doing contracts, getting kills, discovering different places on the map. Also, may be a boomer but to have hot pink teammates … I don’t know how many times I’ve mistaken it for the red of enemies, firing like an idiot at my teammate. Anyway to change the colors. Green, yellow, blue are great but need a different color for 4th teammate. I don’t how many times it’s caused me to pause too and get killed thinking it was my teammate.
They need to nerf the Snipers and Knives in the Multiplayer.
I have been experiencing all sorts of issues while playing on Steam, various graphical issues and disconnects etc, read some posts that Battlenet tends to be better, so borrowed a friends account and played on Battlenet, have not experienced any of the issues that I had been experiencing on Steam at all, plus the game runs about 10-15 FPS better on Battlenet for me. Benchmark on Steam I get 195 FPS, but on Battlenet I get 210. Definitely a lot of stuff to iron out but it is already in a lot better state then MWII/WZ2.

Nothing is worse than people landing on you and you dying. Then the game says, enemy incoming lol
the servers are super laggy almost every other game its not my connection. one pretty big tech issue you missed. that needs fix then audio then the rest.
People can full on sprint and drop on you from the sky with no audio cues.
I haven't played enough of Warzone lately bc of having more responsibilities, but I'm right there with you in the not having enough stuff unlocked. I also haven't been following this game that much like I did in the past. Idk what is meta, OP, etc. I had a little bit of time yesterday and on PS5 my search for a solo lobby of warzone had reached 200 ping. Maybe I've outgrown the game and my interest is no longer there subconsciously. The one complaint I've had of Warzone is the looting system. I loved the one Blackout had; building your weapon from barebones to fully kitted was fun... as a loot goblin. I wish Warzone did that instead of the loadout method allowing everyone to run a meta/ OP class setup.

Regarding console graphic complaints.. I used to play on a regular HD TV.. but decided to try it on my LG Ultragear 1440p 144 HZ monitor for my work computer recently, and I couldn’t even believe how big the difference was.. I had no idea. It felt like I was playing on a pro streamer PC all the sudden and I can’t go back.. just a FYI for anyone using a TV still. I play on Xbox one 👍
#1 issue. The AUDIO is terrible!!!
No foot step audio. Weapons make next to no noise. Parachute sound doesn’t exist if someone lands on you
I can definitely say the map UI isn’t just you- both in Warzone and Zombies alike the map is absolutely trash. On a PS4 I’ve had moments where my map straight up struggles to load things, which I understand is something you can’t complain about on an old gen, but it’s just further exacerbated by the fact that 99% of the map icons are grayscale. I’ll open the map, spend a few seconds waiting for elements to load, then another few looking for what I need to, and that’s IF I don’t get interrupted. If I do get interrupted, I have to hope the map doesn’t reset and force me to wait yet again just because it’s almost impossible to decipher it and its lack of colors at a glance.

To me the map is boring and has unmemorable locations. Also, shooting people first and still losing the gun fight is a big issue, they should increase flinch while getting shot or something. Another one is all the cheaters using Aim Bot hacks.
Do you play resurgence more?? I play the regular mode and I have maybe seen 1 cheater in like 80-100 games

Drift, I truly don't think it's a boomer thing. My friend and I are 22/23 and we are true gamers but having a billion different grenades, vests, killstreaks, weapons and everything else is overwhelming and boring. It makes one focus less on the gameplay.

I barely play warzone (any version of it) the map and UI and bunches of stuff all over the place has always been hard to sight read
PLEASE... i play competative COD Multiplayer Warzone on PC and i stream im all in to steps etc , now i have older version of Razer BlackShark V2 Pro and ... i realy not very happy with sound , i know cod is having big trouble with sound in moment ,but also Headphones are not so good with steps,sound overall and i having problem that i need to adjastment every 15 min .... they are light waight for sure and comtable but really for 200 euros i expected more

i think the new update is fine, wz is fun again. the PROBLEM is that my game crashes nonstop ever since this update. or at least, the most recent update last week. i keep losing my ahit in zombies due to crashes
Im having a hard time learning this game in general. I had a friend of mine critique my gameplay for mw2 and after him giving me tips and tricks i ended up grinding ranked mode to plat solo quing. I noticed my gameplay being better...
W mw3 i feel like im back to being a christmas noob and i dont understand why or how. I die faster than i can kill. Aiming is just all over the place even after turning down sensitivity.
Movement feels choppy and random.
Aa doesnt feel consistent and ends up fighting me more than helping. Sbmm is still there so om still being put up against diamond and crim skin players and i cant lose enough to do anything about it
And alot of the advice from the community usually boils down to "skill issue, get gud". Most youtubers are just like "change aim assist to default" as if it wasnt there. I just dont understand how i can go from being an okay player to being dogshit withing 1 month
What input do you play on? Bc of you're on MNK I'm sorry to tell you, it's legitimately broken. TGD and Driftor both made videos discussing this but it's even worse than what they state. There's straight up input issues where the game, tied to network performance, is contributing to input latency resulting in dropped inputs or coming out too late bc, and I suspect it has to do with the netcode. It's not just you, MW19 was significantly more consistent.

It's not boomerism if you can't put 10+ hours into one weapon to unlock its attachments. You can get good at the game but you still need to play multiplayer to have some decent weapons which is baffling to me

Anyone else just getting tired of the BR genre? I was over it after the first 2 years of Warzone, but my friends only played WZ and so they kept me playing, making me grow more and more tired of it. Now I can't stand the gameplay loop anymore. I'm back to regular multiplayer and having a blast.
I bet the bad audio is due to several perks that affect game sound and it's affecting all game sound.

I don't know if this is true given that it's Warzone but maybe the lack of footstep audio was intentional as the previous games had footsteps that were too loud. I honestly prefer quiet footsteps because it allows you to move around the map without giving away your position. I lost so many games because I was sprinting and someone was camping behind a door waiting for me. Then I just stopped playing altogether because my rushing playstyle was disincentivized.
I don’t care if the footsteps aren’t screeching loud but at least distinct when close but not hearing anything from when enemies run up stairs, Zipline or parachute towards your building is horrible
@@vipersxbl4832 Plenty of games have no footsteps and they do just fine. If you rely on footsteps too much then you need to position yourself better and just have faster reflexes than your opponent when you see them on your screen. Don't put yourself in positions where you don't have your rear covered.

I had this same exact audio complaint.
My first game I got sent to gulag early. My opponent had a crazy skin and he says “you’re about to get fucked you know that right?”
So I hold the right lane pre aimed ready to cheese this cocky asshole. He SPRINTS down the left lane completely undetected and shoots me point blank. Dude ran right up on me and I had NO AUDIO INDICATION.
I don’t understand. I’ve got arctic pros and I use sonar. Everything I’ve paid for and set up is supposed to help me avoid this.
I don’t have this issue in regular multiplayer. When I play search and destroy, if you so much as fart in real life I have your exact latitude and longitude. How can Warzone audio be this bad?

Audio is not a flaw that skipped though QA. It has been awful since latter half of Warzone 1. It smacks of their chief audio code monkey making something convoluted in 2019, not commenting the code, then leaving the company. If they could have fixed it by now, they would have. They simply can't. Technical debt has piled on top of it, and the suits wont sign off on the cost of getting it re-written.
On other notes, it's all moot as I'm not playing on 15Hz tick servers where my hit-box size and weapon damage are adjusted based on EOMM, in line with the patents they filed in 2020. I am not spending money on blueprints just to get the same rule-set as the streamers.
Remember when everyone believed COD wasn’t going to have a 2022 release… lol
The fact we still have dumpster fire servers STILL, I’m good. Fix the audio and servers, then I’ll play. Otherwise, the only way I’m playing is when my friends force me to.

Needing to unlock attachments and guns in warzone is bad design. Warzone is the only BR I can think of that you are at a disadvantage before you even start the game. Apex, PUBG, H1Z1, Fortnite, etc. All of these games everyone is the same when they start the game, but in warzone if you didn't grind the best guns or the meta just shifted well you're just fighting an uphill battle because other people will just straight up have better guns than you. If all attachments and guns were unlocked, people could mess around and try different guns and still have a chance to win the game instead of going from a fully kitted gun to a level 1 no attachments gun because you want to level it up.

I personally like the lack of footsteps. Hearing footsteps just caters to camping which is what the devs want to deter.

Never enjoyed Warzone, or battle royale in general. Don’t enjoy the slow pace and the players are just sweaty and take it too seriously. The casual modes are so much more enjoyable.

Activision and Sledgehammer, if you watch this video, I want you to think long and hard about what he just said. People are reporting that pubs, thanks to your insufferable SBMM and EOMM, you have turned pubs into ranked. Now, what exactly is the problem with that? Well let's take a look at the past and some facts. From Day one, when you first introduced ranked into this franchise, you have struggled to get people interested. So much so, that for several years you quit even trying to have ranked. So some suit, who probably doesn't even play COD, or game in general comes up with the brilliant idea to take ranked, which literally no body even wants to play, and you turn everything that they do like to play into ranked, and you thought that would be a good idea? Theirs no wander these last few games have been disappointments, and your numbers are dropping. I believe your algorithms are the #1 thing driving people away at this point.
Uninstalled. It’s just NOT fun having to play sweats every game.
Verdansk was great. I don't play warzone and I don't buy call of duty games no more. Rocket League is a better competitive game.
This game is straight up bad, especially on mnk. I'll keep playing MW19 until they release an actual better game.
