I knew it was downhill after seeing that
I had forgotten that I put potato chips on hamburgers at that age. (In the mid-70's.) I actually preferred Ruffles on my hamburgers. Gourmet cuisine...definitely not...but a fun memory.
Might just try it again for the nostalgia factor.

I was at Caesars Palace 3 years ago and there was a Bobby Flay burger place there. I thought about trying it but the line was really long and instead got some killer chicken and waffles. Good thing I didn't waste my money.
I had Bobby's burgers the first time just a few weeks ago and it was the most confusing experience I've ever had. The meat tasted like a fresh BK burger & they used a cheap quality McDonald's bun & fake cheese. How did they mess that up so bad? Not worth the price at all.

That's what annoys me about celebrity chefs and even some regular chefs about salt. They tend to go overboard to the point that your blood pressure in one bite becomes 4369/3547. Get a grip chefs, salt is to wake up flavor not to give the patron an instant stroke. I salt my food carefully, if during or after cooking needs a touch more then I will add a touch. Daym looked so sad, sorry for the experience bro. 😔😔
I don't use salt at all. There's enough as it is in most foods.

My experience was similar. Its been a few years and the only thing that stood out in my memory was that my milkshake was good.

i would send it all back the person on the grill must be salting everything too much so needs to be told to have a lighter touch and who ever is on the fryer doing the fries needs retrained .Don't know how that stuff is getting OKed to leave the pass.

Funny you mention how salty is was. I ate at 2 different Bobby Flay restaurants, NYC and Vegas, and at both, everything was SO SALTY. I still think about it how over the top salty it was. Really stuck in my mind and my palette. I guess that's their policy ir something because here we are yet again with the over saltiness.

I went to the restaurant owned by the guy who lost to Bobby Flay on Iron Chef and it was worth every penny. Unfortunately, it closed during the pandemic. It would be unacceptable for me not to mention the Cheerwine Festival coming up next month. I highly recommend making the trip if you are able. The local restaurant owners get excited with preparing unique dishes for the festival, using Cheerwine syrup. But, I'm afraid not even Scott Tang's Cheerwine candied bacon could have saved those burgers lol.
Wife and I visited Ramsey’s place in Vegas. Burger was actually good, however the fries were painfully pedestrian. Does you no good to provide a quality meat main dish if you go cheap on the side.
Can confirm that best part of my visit there a while back was the cactus fruit margarita

I'm surprised burgers are so expensive in the USA (forgive my ignorant English arse ;p) I was always told that beef is cheaper over there due to the fact you produce so much product in the form of cow farming and pasturing. It somehow feels wrong that burgers are an increasingly unaffordable luxury in the land that promulgated them.

We used to have one of them Bobby Flay jawns in Philly. They closed it down now it's the flavorless Raising Cane Chicken.
I cook at home for myself all the time. And when I mistakenly put too much salt I feel like a total amateur. A real confidence killer.
I've had to tell the waitstaff, "Don't season the patty! Those guys go ham with the salt."

Aint the first time Daym calling a bacon burger too salty. Did the same with Arby’s Wagyu ones. What do you want them to do? Douse the burger and bacon in water? I went there about twelve years ago and it was a REALLY good burger. I can imagine things changing since then possibly, but for me it was incredible at the time.

I've eaten lots of burgers in my lifetime (I have the belly to prove it!), but for me Five Guys is the best in flavor and price. That said, it was upsetting to see how poor Burger Palace did. I expect more from Bobby and his gang.

It doesn’t surprise me. I knew Bobby Flay was all hype when he did that Food Network show where he went around surprising chefs and challenging them to a cook off of their signature dish. More often than not, he got his butt kicked. If you’re an Iron Chef, shouldn’t you be able to beat just about anyone?
You’re right, Bobby has stopped caring about that place. As long as he’s making money, he doesn’t care. Whoever is running that place stopped using whatever system they had in place for cooking the food. It looks like the only consistent thing about their burgers is the liberal application of salt.
I doubt he's back there though. Maybe he needs to get his Iron Chef license revoked so he can get this place up to snuff for $70.

You think Gordon Ramsey earned a Michelin Star by handing off his recipes to the restaurant’s chef and walking away? No, real chefs care about their restaurants, and you better believe that they check up on them to see if the systems they put in place are being used. They’ll show up, and taste the food, and if they don’t like it, guess what? Everyone is going back to school. They’re either going to learn to get it right, or they’re getting fired. Real chef care because, even though they may not be the one cooking, it’s their recipes and reputation on the line. When a real chef puts his name on something, he means it.
On the other hand, you’ve got chefs that will put their name on anything as long as the price is right. It’s not even their restaurant or their recipes. These are the chefs that turn out garbage.
