Still listening to both Caravan and Camel regularly - live in the 1970’s at Fairfield Halls, Croydon many times. Real musical influencers my entire life - and 'if I could do it al over again .......’ :)
Oh yes and Steve/John Hackett and their mum June ....who I used to work with at Mercury Comms... ended up in the bar with them, one weird Sunday night.
My Dad did some sound work with a couple of ex Caravan band members back in the 80s when we were living in Canterbury, I was a kid and can't remember the details or to what extent, remember a gig in Toddler's Cove for the community, Dad doesn't talk about it, but it introduced me to this great band. You just don't hear music like this anymore, real shame, evokes so many emotions

It's not Caravan.It's only Pey Hastings. The Original with Richard Sinclair on the Video "Caravan live 1990" is so match better. Oh my God and his Version of Golf Girl is horrible. This are Richard's Sinclairs Songs. Hastings can not handle it
I saw Caravan live in 1970 soon after buying the album which I still have....side B of the album totally trippy....if you know what I mean..aceeeeeeeedddd :)..far out man! great band.....
Great show, though I wouldn't have mind the Golf girl to stroll just 10 % slower in the Land of Grey and Pink. There's no hurry, no last bus to catch home... So, no need to speed up things a bit, just relax, and do it, when you want to do it.
They are my all-time favourite band. seen them so many times. First time at The Catacombs in Wolverhampton, when drummer, late Richard Coughlan played a cheap Olympic kit, but the sound was awesome. As a by-the-by, the current drummer is frighteningly too smiley. A bit weird.
He was an all time Caravan fan. He was brought in when Richard Coughlan's health was failing. Mark Walker is a great guy and keeps Richard's legacy going.

Is it really "..on a land of warm and green"? I have been puzzled by this line since buying the album in 1973. That's what the lyrics sites say. Could it be ".. on a landing, warm and green"? At least then both "warm" and "green" would be adjectives, which makes a little more sense. Or "..on a land of warming green"?

I agree with you in the main, no doubt Richard's voice is stronger in general, but there is something very affecting about Pye's delivery on Golf Girl that I really like. I have heard several recordings of him singing it live and have come to actually prefer the way he handles it. I'm just glad we have both.
Why so accelerate?? It's a relax song, I know that it's a live but it is a relax song, I don't know what think the people but I think that was more relax and more slowly to cap the attention of the people!!! :/

This album is my favourite of all time. Never met anyone who didn't like it. Wonderfully upbeat. Some nice twists to this version.
Hard to put into perspective how erudite they were.
King Crimson was by far my favorite band, but in the land of grey and pink was by far my favorite album ever! Especially side 2!
