Even before the game started, this was one of the best Untold Tales. That background story by Matt!!! And the hilarious background of the brothers are already giving me great vibes. I never knew "you go ahead guys" could be a playstyle.
I can't believe you got Matt Ruff to guest in your one-shot. I'm such a fan of his work. His books are remarkable. He has such a singular voice in literature, and I love how he brought a new character to life in the world of Drakkenheim. What a gift for fans of your show to be turned onto his work. Love everything you guys are doing, and @dungeondudes is by far still my favorite D&D content on UA-cam. Keep up the great work, guys. Oh, and Joe? You continue to fascinate me. Much love, Dudes. (Also, congrats, Jill!)
Hearing Monty say "Fred you think you may have just heard someone laugh" after I laughed at the Dungeons of Drakkenheim reference, made me laugh even more. Can't wait to see more Drakkenheim this is all pure gold
Matt! So good! Crying with laughter. "1st of all... Not true... 2nd of all... Let's say for the sake of argument it was true..." Brilliant. Great stuff Dungeon Dudes.
1:59:31 "It's loose enough"... Combined with Monty's face of wanting to make this work mechanically, I think this is the perfect application for the Rule of Cool. It made my day. Also shows that, no matter what your skill level, innovation is a player's strongest weapon.
I’m so far behind on the main campaign that I always think to myself “Maybe I should skip Untold Tales this time and focus on catching up, *surely* the spin offs can’t be as good as the main campaign” and EVERY single time I’m blown away 😂 Every single episode is loads of fun and something new and exciting, I love it all! 💜
Holy shit, special guest indeed! You guys get all of the cool special guests!!! Also, I am so friggin excited to buy the Drakkenheim module book-I about fell over when I got the email from ghostfire!
Admiring how you continue to develop more and more adventures within the Drakkenheim setting! Additionally, nice of you to include an example about the many folks recently coming back to DND after 30+ years, jumping from original AD&D into 5e. My guess = they all would love Drakkenheim
I think the best part of every episode is no matter what, everyone is smiling. Thank you Dungeon Dudes and friends. Each and every one of you are amazing people and players.
Great show, thank you for it. Just one notice - you can't transform necrotic damage to cold by the Transmuted spell as you can do it only from-to 6 types of damage described in this metamagic (acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, thunder).
"I didn't consider your characters when creating this" - that is how I felt so many times when I crated a dungeon and some certain players found a way to mess it up entirely.
Woooooooooooooooooooooo-hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! What a great Friday this is turning in to. Having a party with no Darkvision really adds to the dungeoneering fun. "It was the broom, and you never picked it up!", Joe is so quick and funny. Having said that, the entire group are on point. I hope that Matt Ruff gets to come back for a further adventure, if the opportunity provides itself.
Another fun episode! Welcome to Matt. You were great and fit in well. Fred and Ted had wonderful interactions. And also a rephrasing of the infamous “What’s the worst that could happen? “ Loved it all
They're back! Woop woop. 🥳 Well, I know what I'll be watching later tonight. 👍 Also, after binging all the campaigns this past month or so, this is going to be my first time ending on a cliffhanger & needing to WAIT a week for the conclusion. 😅
I know I'm late to the untold series but I love them. And I get a lot of the jokes now with the main story!! I appreciate your efforts to entertain us all
Watching these old videos and remembering my Roll20 issues from around then, there definitely was a conceal/reveal bug with their fog of war. As near as I could tell, switching off the FoW tool to something else and coming back got its state confused and you'd have to switch from reveal to conceal, and back, to get it to work. For the last year, the FoW seems to work just fine. Every time I watch an old Roll20 Drakkenheim video, I feel Monty's struggle.
Re watching before I run the chapel of st Brenna as a oneshot in my homebrew! Absolutely love the drakkenheim book and will be running it as my next campaign.
I was asleep while this automating. playing. And my dreams started playing out bits and pieces of the events. Lots of blue flames in weird warped space stone building rooms
In our world they cremate most dead, but there is a religious belief that the souls of the great paladins and clerics may one day need their bodies again in a time of need. There is a ritual that keeps the dead at rest, but when the city is infused with magic, disrupting any part of that prepared ritual might awaken them.
Ok, just curious how you guys rank the newer subclasses for subclasses you've covered. Specifically rune knight for me haha Also, great vid as always :)
yay drakkenheim how do you huys like the idea of a kodbold (that is a young silverdragon) takeing pleasure and join folowing them and have them a friends is it cool you think
Ok, the back story for MR Big is priceless.
For real. “Art of the Steal” I’m dying lol
The wolves. Hahahahah

A thief boss sending a warrior and a mage to do all the scouting in a dungeon was way funnier than it should be :D
I love you guys!!!
You all are the reason why I got back into D&D and started a group.
Hearing Monty say "Fred you think you may have just heard someone laugh" after I laughed at the Dungeons of Drakkenheim reference, made me laugh even more. Can't wait to see more Drakkenheim this is all pure gold

Love how the social dynamic changes depending on who's playing, especially when it comes to the gags!
"Someone's taken our spears! A ghost? A SPEAR-IT!"
I took 10 psychic damage from that.

Matt Ruff's description of Mr Big was absolutely hilarious, props!
Not to mention how much I love joint backstories!
Holy shit, special guest indeed! You guys get all of the cool special guests!!! Also, I am so friggin excited to buy the Drakkenheim module book-I about fell over when I got the email from ghostfire!
Best 10 minute backstory I've ever heard.
The dynamic between these three characters is just fabulous!

35 year gap. Just when I thought I was out...they dragged me back in :)
I didn't choose the D&D life, the D&D life chose me.
I really enjoyed the way Matt plays Mr. Big. He really presented the feeling of being a big-shot well.
Great show, thank you for it. Just one notice - you can't transform necrotic damage to cold by the Transmuted spell as you can do it only from-to 6 types of damage described in this metamagic (acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, thunder).
Ive had a rough couple days and it's nice to be able to listen to this to start my day.
"I didn't consider your characters when creating this" - that is how I felt so many times when I crated a dungeon and some certain players found a way to mess it up entirely.
I think Ted and Fred may be my favorite characters (alongside Mr Bigs, of course) thus far. Hilarious.
You all do such great work. It is an honor to support you on Patreon.

It’s no fun lol I miss when I didn’t have to wait

Good ole' fashioned grave robbing works so well thematically with this setting and the party composition, bonds are super awesome :D
Yes yes yes! Been dying for another video! Currently rewatching all Drakkenheim episodes while waiting on Shadows to return 😄
95% successful boss ! Looking forward to part 2 :)
What an AWESOME back story!!!

This episode was awesome. Totally love Mr. Big. Kelly and Joe playing brothers are amazing
Heyy Y'all Rock!! Shout out to our Guest Player!! It was pretty hilarious to see the dynamic unfold between him kelly and joe!
I introduced Black jack mel to my players and my accent was phenomenal.
Re watching before I run the chapel of st Brenna as a oneshot in my homebrew! Absolutely love the drakkenheim book and will be running it as my next campaign.
first. also it is sooo freaking good to have Drakkenheim back. It is the best way to start the weekend.
I was asleep while this automating. playing. And my dreams started playing out bits and pieces of the events. Lots of blue flames in weird warped space stone building rooms
Did anyone else catch the Frozen reference? Loved this group and episode!
Oh my goodness, these characters are cracking me up! Well done!!
Honestly, Monty’s mephits are the best characters in the whole Drakkenheim saga
This was a really funny session. I loved the roleplaying.
Kelly's back story is damming!
"Ted you also get mauled."
"Aww."
Just the title of this makes me stoked to hear it. Listening now!!!
Wow what an amazing guest to get. You guys are famous! Not just with me but so happy for you guys.
Greatest rogue backstory ever! LOL
This is some of my favorite characters to date. Also my style of roleplaying.
Grat game!
Thank you! 😄
I was waiting to learn how the Oates brothers had to give up the shop when Mom and Dad didn't give a dam.
Someone should of mentioned that Mr big had sneak attack bonuses
2:29:10 He's aware of sneak attack already.
His other attacks just couldn't have it applied (The water bottle throws and firebolt)
I must admit that book premise I thought was pretty fun, and I might just have a look at it...
Huge congrats to Jill on the birth of her baby.
I know this video was made months ago, but it's news to me.
2:05:14 there is an extremely loud noise in the left sound channel, if that's possible to fix.
Art of the steal, lol.
Monty's putting out some serious dark Peter Parker vibes this week
just relistened that one some days ago, great episode.
Any thoughts on what Drakkenheim was like before the meteor? Like maybe a what if q and a?
The singular of sarcophagi is sarcophagus
To fully immerse in commnexus you'll probably need a guide most are not natural navigators.
That's not true Kelly you are the specialest guest both you and Joe!
Is this the first time in Drakkenheim a convoluted plan to clear the goal of enemies succeeded without a hitch?
The conversations give me an I.M.P. vibe
The brothers should have been named the”Vales.” Then we would be saving the Vales.
I have a whole bunch of high school and missed the last campaign :(
Game starts 3:49
Square wheels actually work better in muck.
Cant wait for the book
So much fun here.
Is it just me or does Mr Big's character art look like Ian McShane in Deadwood?
Great episode.
I honestly enjoyed this more than the third campaign of Critical Role.
Wait they just oiled themselves with flammable liquid to squeeze through a small opening?
They like matchsticks
Don’t they burn or cremate their dead? Was that just an oversight or?
In our world they cremate most dead, but there is a religious belief that the souls of the great paladins and clerics may one day need their bodies again in a time of need. There is a ritual that keeps the dead at rest, but when the city is infused with magic, disrupting any part of that prepared ritual might awaken them.
Ty for the clarification. Good stream per usual. Enjoyed it.
Dude, you need to check out a game on Kickstarter called The Bone. Think about using wands and magic IRL.
Posted on funding page:
Project is cancelled as of April 2nd. Bummer, because it was a groovy ideer.
@@lungtoast They are rebooting the Kickstarter in a month or two.
@@errisa1176 Thanks for the info, mate. Enjoy your day.
Ok, just curious how you guys rank the newer subclasses for subclasses you've covered. Specifically rune knight for me haha Also, great vid as always :)
If I ever get into an english speaking group, I hope it has this groove.
Are you not doing Shadows anymore?
Suggestion: add "Matt Ruff" to the video title
do you guys have a discord
i am looking for a game to play
pls
Yes, we have a Discord community open to our Patreon supporters.
Awesome 👏🏼
Kelly, did you go to school in GA? You look and feel like someone I went to middle school with? Please let me know cause I’m curious! Lol
A good one.
yay drakkenheim how do you huys like the idea of a kodbold (that is a young silverdragon) takeing pleasure and join folowing them and have them a friends is it cool you think
