I've just started risk management and this is really the key. It sadly takes a few years to get to this conclusion but once you get there it changes everything. This is starting my 3rd year in trading and I finally get it. It's all about stop loss and knowing what you are doing before entering the trade. I.e. knowing support and resistance levels

Risk management is the entire part of the game. People need to shift their focus from win percentage to risk management. For example if someone Wins 40% of their trades and use a strict RR of risking 1% to make 3% at the end of the day they will be profitable. Really focus on this and You will start to be profitable. Emotional trades=Bad trades.

Your losses go on forever because you are not implementing risk management / stop losses

This is an excellent UA-cam. This point of risk management is so crucial to being a profitable trader. Key statements you made is that EVERYONE has losing trades. I appreciate this video. I don't worry about taking a loss as long as it is small and within my discipline. I just discard the loss like a bad apple and move on to make the next trade which will, based on averages be a winner. Your point on eliminating emotions is also very critical. Thanks. Here is a scenario based on the way I believe you trade. You enter at a support level and your target is the next level.. You know your reward at the next level is 4 points (or some dollar value your shares or contract will be worth), So if my "R" is 2.5, then my risk is 1.6. So would I set a stop loss 1.6 points below my entry (or the equivalent share price or contract value) ? I get the concept you are talking about but how do I apply this to the next trade? I suppose one way to approach this is to say well I am willing to risk 100 bucks so only take a trade where if the price makes it to the next demand or supply level, my profit will be at least 2.5 times what I am willing to risk. Is that how you find trades? Only ones that would give you at least that R ?

Best advice you can get as a beginner. You can have all the T/A in the world but if your risk management is not on point you will be on a downward spiral.
