Dear Mr. Chamorro, I wonder, how you keep from crying out loud of happiness and enjoyment. This is so beautiful, and you have been essential to it all. Thank you very very much for your work. You brought joy and beauty to the world.
I love the look of pride and satisfaction on Joan Chamarro's face when Andrea's performance is hitting all eight cylinders. He has a lot to be proud of, guiding her talent to the level of superstar and keeping the support band intact to give her such an incredibly deep foundation . Bravo!
She is frequently the unsung hero of so many of the band's arrangements. I can't imagine how empty it would sound without that foundation that she provides.

First of all, "Stardust" has been considered by many to be one of the most perfect songs ever written. Great choice for Andrea to sing. Secondly, her vocal performance is astonishing. And, my last observation--I don't think I've ever seen a singer conduct a band as she's singing!. I've said it before--she was born to do this! (One other song I'd love to see her perform someday: "All the Things You Are" by Kern and Hammerstein II).
Spreading Joy Jazz at the very highest level - performed by absolute Jazz geniuses. Andrea should be a household name among female artists, so many of whom she puts to shame. With her unbelievable talent, I place her on the level of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan... Lovely performance of this Hoagy Carmichael classic - he would be so filled with pride to have heard such a superior version. I have to confess my addiction to all of the performances I have heard under the direction of Maestro Master of Jazz, Joan Chamorro. Simply cannot get enough, for which I thank you all. Please keep up the excellent work you are doing in spreading joy.
What a great musician is Ms. Motis, great command. Smoothly navigates the wrong lyrics with a little smile to the band. Kudos to a great band and Mr. Chamorro.
Wow She just gets better and better. and a great arrangement of this old standard, thank you. This will wind up my two hours of listening and watching your great ensemble of jazz musicians, young and old.
Wow Andrea! This performance really shows why Joan picked you for his primary voice. Really professional and polished yet still full of the amazing sensual emotion that shocked me the first time i heard you. I heard Ella and Sarah in this. Just gorgeous! by the way Andrea your trumpet chops sound amazing and i have a tip for you. Have you noticed when you are reading it's easier to hit the high notes cleanly? It's because you know it's coming so you support for it with a big breath. When you improvise you don't know when you are going to need that support because its spontaneous. Try planning the range of your solo: for example you might say: my first phrase is going to be mid range. Then the 2nd one will be a low range lick, Then take a deep breath and go for a high range lick, around high C and up. When you plan for it the air will be there and you be amazed how high you can go, And don't forget to practice lip flexes and pedal tones below the low F#. Practice them with Rita so you can really hear those low notes. The lower you can play, the higher you can play. I love you guys!!!
Lyrics : And now the purple dusk of twilight time Steals across the meadows of my heart High up in the sky the little stars climb Always reminding me that we're apart You wandered down the lane and far away Leaving me a song that will not die Love is now the stardust of yesterday The music of the years gone by Sometimes I wonder how I spend The lonely night Dreaming of a song The melody haunts my reverie And I am once again with you When our love was new And each kiss an inspiration But that was long ago And now my consolation Is in the stardust of a song Besides the garden wall When stars are bright You are in my arms The nightingale tells his fairytale Of paradise where roses grew Though I dream in vain In my heart it will remain My stardust melody A memory of love's refrain
This is quite an accomplishment. In my experience, Andrea is only the second person to be able to sing this difficult song note for note the way it was written. Nat King Cole set the standard and now Andrea has matched it - and she did it not in her mother tongue. Frank Sinatra has a very beautiful string version from 1961, but he didn't attempt to do the second half of the song. This is not the first time I've noticed that Andrea is fearless, but that may be easy when you have perfect pitch. I'm not foolish enough to say that this is Andrea's best vocal performance, even though that's exactly what I want to say.
Studio quality in front of a live audience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I am in awe, of the talent, and technological expertise. All the while, perfect eyebrow choreography by the great and giving, Mr Chamorro.
The level you guys are at isn’t human almost like a robot playing every note perfect but with all the human emotion. This is perfect music and as usual I’m in love with Joan Marti’s alto playing and sound
Beautiful song, beautiful voice, of Andrea Motis ; heaven! And the baritone sax of Alba Esteban compliments Andrea’s voice perfectly! Hoagie Carmichael would be proud!

Listening again this evening....Andrea is just so beautiful and graceful in her movements, gracefully directing this one, the low rich tone of her voice, the band flawless in every part. Wow. Love that song...and SAJB.

Nat King Cole, who made the number his own, would have applauded Andrea Motis' phrasing. *Though I dream in vain, in my heart it will remain, my stardust melody, a memory of love's refrain.* What an arrangement, what an ensemble! Beautiful singer and voice...and one of the best written songs of all time.
Hoagie Carmichael would be all smiles if he could hear these wonderful musicians & their leader, do wonders for his composition. 👍🎷🎼
This version of Hoagy Carmichael's great song brings honor to the memory of him.
Listen to the clarity of Andrea's voice! This is a beautiful arrangement!

You wandered down the lane and far away
Leaving me a song that will not die
Love is now the stardust of yesterday

Sometimes I wonder how I spend
The lonely night
Dreaming of a song
The melody haunts my reverie
And I am once again with you
When our love was new
And each kiss an inspiration

Pure magic. Andrea Motis is so good at taking her time with the melody. Perfect phrasing. Such a joy to the heart. 🎶❤️🎶
quina preciositat de veu i arranjaments. Guau!

Chapeau, Andrea Motis !
wow1 That sounds just terrific. I hope she can continue to sing so wonderful.
Fabulous ANDREA!! The definite interpretation of this Carmichael composition, probably his best known and immortal
In the world of today it is a gift to be allowed to enjoy what pure talent and artistery goes about
you're saying this is better than nat king cole, when diction, enunciation is so critical to this song; half of the words are smothered.
Je viens juste aujourd'hui de prendre consience de l extraordinaire talent de madame ANDREA MOTIS

Great rendition Andrea !!! BRAVO !!!
Even though I have seen newer and older ones, and consider them all fantastic, I think Andrea's voice is in it's ultimate top form on this one.
I cannot die before hearing this wondrous group of musicians and singers in concert!
