I have watched multiple videos on review of this product, and yours is the best!
Yeah.... thank you for the kind words... this was one of ny first videos...
This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.
Thanks so very much,,i just got a brand new exactly the same as yours as present and was not sure how it all work untill i seen your video, now to make my expressos lol good video
Thank you so much! My friend gave me this coffee maker and I didnt know how to use it. Perfect instructions for those people who are not familiar with those machines. Thank you
I made it to 7:05
Thanks for the review and actually going through the process.
I've had mine for maybe five years. I'm having to replace the pump. For the money, it's pretty nice.
Got this machine for Xmas this year, love it so far.
just some tips, usually before doing a shot you wanna wait a little more for everything to get warmer for a better extraction, you will also wanna get a towel and purge the steam wand before using it in your milk, if you dont a bunch of excess water will go in your milk :)
Hi there just bought the exact same machine and it is pretty good it did take a little bit of working out but I've got it's just now on I don't know if you know about the secret tray underneath so you can get bigger cuts you take the drip tray out as another little tray that you can fit bigger coffee cups on .Cheers Phil from Newark
It definitely makes excellent goopy chocolaty espresso. It's as if I'm literally drinking chocolate milk and gave to purposely add cold brew coffee to it to make it taste like coffee. Get it dialed in and it's a wonderful espresso machine. Especially with milk drinks.
@1:04 what did you find out ? My espresso also drips very slowly like it's clogged. The coffee, Its ground for espresso too.
Just bought one after ur review! Looks good
Thanks for the vid. I knew how to work everything and make espresso/cappuccino etc but couldn’t get the nozzle off the steamer. I didn’t want to break it so I went online looking for a vid. Turns out it was just a little stuck, but a few light twists and I was able to get it. Only had since Christmas but it works great so far and makes a good coffee.
The extra filters store under the lid. They slide I to those tracks. 👍
I was literally just coming here to leave the same comment lol
This particular model doesn’t have the tracks. There’s a little indentation to store them exactly where he just put it.
This model DOES have the tracks, I have this one. The tracks hold two filters and indentation holds one, it’s great
Do i take out the little rubber filter thingy
I’m still having an issue. Not sure if it’s broken or doing something wrong. Coffee doesn’t come out
I always like a little espresso with my milk foam lol...j/k! I bought this machine for my wife for Valentine's Day, going to pick it up from Home Depot after work this evening, thanks!
I've had this same model espresso machine for about three weeks and today it started making a massively loud rattle when I try to get a shot. It takes a long time for the shot to come through, and when it finaly does the noise quiets down a bit. I keep the water tank full but it's like the machine is having a hard time drawing water, and ends up rattling the little carafe right off the plate.
Ground size?
Make sure the water tank is pushed all the way down.
Try cleaning the pin hole on the portafilter.
I know its an old video but please help out if you see my comment. I have the same machine and every time i put the water tank down and push on it, the water leaks from bottom tray where there is a little square opening. Idk how to fix it?
I wish we could have seen the shots pulled into clear shot glasses, just so we can see the consistency
I will try to make a video this week...
Its perfect. I have done it. Gorgeous.
What did you find after you stuck the pin in the filter? Mine just drips out
Nothing... it was fine... although this was a while ago 😉
did you just depresserized your portafilter???
I just bought this machine too. Also gonna wanna try Lavazzos. Btw how/which machine do you use tro grind those coffee beans??
Can u use regular coffee cup ?
Nice job! Thank you for the demo.
great video, thanks as just got one, greetings from Ireland
Thanks, now im on my way to pick one of these up.. lol
Same thing 😂 my cuisinart just broke :(
How you liking it?
@@freakbbasketball8375 It lasted me about 3 months. If i were you, i would save some more money and buy a good entry espresso machine such as the Gaggia classic pro. The quality in espresso from such a cheap machine is very poor and inconsistent. The Delongi machine here would be just fine for someone who doesnt really care for the fine details, results, and quality of their espresso. It was okay for me at the time, But since ive learned so much more about coffee and espresso in particular, I wouldnt waste your money.
Thank you! This helped me so much your video!!
I just bought the machine today! But how did you get the espresso out. Mine is clogged I think ? I seen you used a pin?? Please let me know
The espresso needs to be a fine grind - not a coffee grind... Try with a little bit of grind - half way and then work your way up...
You put the screen in, right?
I bought the machine yesterday, and the very first use took a little longer to start pouring water, in my experience most coffee machines take a little longer the first time, so I would wait a liitle bit.
@@CarsandEspresso We used fine grind and we still cannot get any coffee to come out. Can you help ?
@@peterszulczewski9804 did you pack it too tight? Try a little at first...
How did you make the americano? Did you just leave the espresso or did you use the frother?
I think the correct way is to use the frother, but I usually just let it run... very little difference in taste
Just got one but it only drips. Haven't even made one cup of coffee yet. Any idea why?
What do you mean drips? Coffee tampered too much? Not fine enough?
@@CarsandEspresso When the coffee is coming out, it's not a stream but a very slow drip. Maybe I need to switch the coffee?
idk why but to me he sounds like Billy Crystal minus the boston accent lol
also thank you for the video!
I love Billy Crystal - never made that connection...
Thanks for the video, very helpful!
Thank you so much!
Thank you. At last someone has shown me how to use my machine the proper way.
Thank you for the kind comment! Any specific part that interested you the most?
My machine came with the double shot already on the filter. Initially I couldn’t get it off until, after watching your video, I finally saw the tiny little line indicating there was already I filter in there. I was so confused and you finally solved the issue for me! Thank you!
I would get one, but I think I'd need to figure out how to drink milk again. It's the lactose.
Seems like having regular size cups with this machine depends on milk. Tried non dairy types like coconut milk but they don't froth very well.
buy barista blend oat milk. froths better than the other non dairy. still not as silky and foamy as milk but pretty good still
Quick question, does it have to be turned off after making the espresso before you switch to
froth, or can we just leave it on and go straight to frothing....what would happen if I do that?
I certainly do not want to damage my machine that I just got today, thanks.
If I understand your question correctly, it should be fine...
@@CarsandEspresso , thank you.
Great video man thanks!
does it know to cut off the water after it pours 1 or 2 shots ? or do you have to watch and cut it off yourself ? thanks
I don't think it does it automatically
@@CarsandEspresso thank you .i found out .my other one cut off after it poured shots now i just have to figure out why the pod holder has no hole in it lol .
I just got mine today and I noticed that the holes in my filter cups are not punched out. Are they supposed to be?. I initially tried to punch them out with a small needle but to no avail..so I still put it through for one shot and coffee did dispense but maybe not as quick as yours....Help!
They are punched out... just hard to see... don't pack the coffee too hard... good luck
On the cup part of the filter. I thought I saw you put a needle through the one hole..maybe mine are defective?
@@ronb2486 yes, I did that to make sure there was a hole... and I was able to feel it on the other side... just hard to see
@@CarsandEspresso sweet..I used a smaller pin and felt it on other side...thank you so much! Now I will be able to sleep tonight knowing I can make coffee in the morning
@@CarsandEspresso and I just subscribed
This was so helpful thankyou
I tried grinding mine and making it using Lavzza and didn't get the crema very much. How do you grind your coffee beans?
Very fine setting... Don't fill up as much to see if that helps...
Why did mine come with 2 single shots? What is the black ring inside of the filters for?
2 single shots? That is wrong... I rarely use the single shot... The black ring is used to hold the filter in place...
Lavazza coffee may be tasty but it's not organic right? Coffee is the most sprayed
crop, if you are not buying organic, you are drinking pesticides. I know organic is
not perfect but at least the pesticides may be less or at least less harmful. VERY helpful
demonstration, by the way, thank you.
How easy is it to decalcify? Do you need to buy special cleaner and tablets or can you just use vinegar?
I guess we don't have hard water... Haven't had to decalcify in over a year... Sorry, I don't know...
I just use simple plain white vinegar. I use it about every 6 months or so. I run about 2 cup’s through it without the portafilter in place. Then I run about 4 cups of water through it to make sure I’m not making vinegar espresso!
Do you have to manually stop the coffee pour or does it know when the espresso is done? And for Americano i guess you just let it continue pouring through the grinds or do you make an espresso shot and top up with water separately to keep consistency?
Manually...
To make an Americano, I've done it both ways... not sure, I can tell the difference
Thank you for this video. Very useful. I got this machine as present, and not sure how to use, your video helped a lot. Many thanks again, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the video!!!
Hi there, thank you for sharing your review. Wondering is this machine still working to this day?
Yes, but we now just use it in our RV - we've upgraded... but I still love this machine.... hope that helps...
@@CarsandEspresso Good to know, thank you!
Just got one of these from a friend who never used their's, so I'm new to the espresso game. How do you know when to turn the machine off to stop the shot pull? (if that's even the right lingo for the question I'm trying to ask....)
Also, why did he only use one scoop of coffee grounds when he was making a double shot. I thought the double shot basket called for 2 scoops? Clearly you can see my naïveté
Hi! So I just like a good cup of espresso - but there are a lot of haters out there ;). 1 shot = 1 oz or 2 shots = 2 oz... but stop the machine where ever you want! If it tastes good to you then that's the right place!
@@samuelstarnes5466 Filling it all the way to the top is a double shot...
How do you know when to stop the espresso? It doesn’t automatically shut off after making 1.5 or 3 oz?
Turn it back to warm up... Not automatic
Oswaldo Alvarenga yes, but how do you know when to turn it back to warm up? Novice here. When you estimate it’s at the ounces you want?
Mariah Cloud Stewart I bought a shot glass with the measurements marked on it. Each shot is roughly an ounce. I like making double shots, so I use the double shot filter, use two scoops of the supplied spoon, and stop it at the 2 ounce mark.
The one I love using: Barista Basics 3oz Shot Glass www.amazon.com/dp/B07F3GNQSX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_puoIEb8M1VB37
In this video did you make 1 shot or 2 shots?
2 shots
@@CarsandEspresso
okay so the cup you used had two shots? I use the shot glass containers which holds 1 shot per glass.
@@Zantar16 and? The machine comes with two containers - 1 shot and 2 shots
metalic cup don't really hold the temperature of eXpresso all that well 😉
How it compares with EC 155?
Thanks
I just got this machine and it advertises the silver portion on the top is a cup warmer. How do you turn it on and get it to heat up??
Sorry... I didn't know that
Turn on the machine and leave your cup sitting on the top ridge part before you start running your espresso.
Does it steamed the milk to? or did you have to warm it up already
It does steam the milk with the froth her on the side. When the green ready light is on it’s ready to go
What espresso grounds do you like best? Do you not fresh grind? Everything I read says you must fresh grind. What is really the taste difference? I'm not an espresso snob. Is it really a big deal? I don't want to buy a grinder 😅
Yes, I do have a grinder... It does make a big difference... We alternate between decaf and regular, that's why I have two little air tight containers to keep it fresh. The grinder is next to the Espresso machine.
You can use grounded while you save up for the grinder ;) you should buy a $100 grinder for this type of Espresso machine... Rule of thumb... Price of grinder should equal the price of Expresso machine
@@CarsandEspresso what grinders do you recommend?
@@barbnomi3717 Great question... one like this: amzn.to/2S2BTjT or in the same class....
@@CarsandEspresso My espresso machine was $300. Why would you recommend a $300 grinder... ridiculous lol
Do you use the same amount of grinds when using the double espresso insert? Or what is different with the double espresso insert?
About double the amount of espresso
@@CarsandEspresso so you used double shot filter, but you put 1 scoop (shot) of grinds, is that correct? So that is actually a single shot espresso you served, right? Do you think putting 1 shot of espresso in a 2 shot filter is what causes the creama or the coffee you bought? I use the starbucks espresso grounds and my espresso doesnt have the nice creama color yours does.
@@AjitPatel78 No, I fill it up all the way and then tamper it... have you used LavAzza? Starbucks might not be the best coffee...
So my ready light came on immediately during the initial set up and cleaning.
Working okay?
is this good to learn how to make latte art for absolute beginners?
I had just gotten one of these for my birthday 4 days ago. Everything is working but the frother and its brand new. Can anyone help me please and thank you 😎👍
And it makes the milk nice and hot? Mine makes the froth but not hot )): I have the same machine
Yes, mine does... very hot... check out other videos how to make milk frothy... you need to have I swirl around and that way it gets hot with out that much foam
.. good luck
Thank you. Good tip.
Can u put ice into the drink or will it be ruin ?
Danny Cabrera don’t listen to the critics... try it and if you like it - then do it again ;)

Thanx for the video! Why my coffee container (where you put coffee) does not turn completely. Very hard to turn it.

@@busavalley8695 Both the grinder and espresso machine are still working... not bad for the price...
Can you steam milk and make espresso at the same time?
No...
The metal lining inside the portafilter that clamps the filter in place broke. Has anyone else had this issue? Is this necessary or it’s just there to hold the filter?
What is the difference between the single and the double filter? Like making two shots?
Yes.... More espresso
I've had it for a month. the milk doesn't foam as I like on my auto frothing machine. I drink soy or oat. I tried different brands but still can't get the perfect consistency
I worked as a barista for years and non dairy milks were always harder to get a nice foam on since they have a lower fat content. See if you can find barista blend soy milk. If you haven't tried it already, it's meant to be better for steaming.
It is espresso, es-spress-oh, not express-oh. Second, you need to tamp you espresso down a little. Don't do it so hard that the steam can't push through, but push it down enough so that you can fit a little more coffee in there, and so that as the steam pushes through, it will meet a little resistance through the ground beans. This will give a heavier flavor, a thicker bodied coffee, and a more dense and creamy head. As for cleaning the streamer, I like to have a metal cup with a insulated handle, fill it most of the way with water, and steam the water until it comes clean, for a simple clean between coffees. For a deeper clean, as when you are done with it for the day, dismantle for deep clean. I don't know about that machine, but that is how I do bigger ones. Finally, try Bustelo coffee. My Great Grandmother was Sicilian, My Great Grandfather was from Naples, and that is what they used. I didn't even know that, and found my way to using it, and then when my mother saw it at my house, she told me that that is what they used. That sad enough for me...
Excellent tips and my thoughts exactly. Also won't help to purge the water from the steamer line before inserting into milk.
Quick question is that milk you use and foam it up?
Yes... Organic whole milk...
I like it
Please. There is no x in espresso
Haven't heard that one before...

How did you fix the drip issue?
Thanks for the review. Why did DeLonghi have to use so many parts for their frother? I have a Mr. Coffee espresso maker with nothing but an open metal tube that froths great and you can adjust the pressure of the frother too. The Mr Coffee is half the price... I got two of them at a yard sale at $5 each.
The difference is that Mr Coffee machines are bad, period.
Hello. I have this model and i have a problem. The water doesn't flow even with an empty grouphead. Without it, the water
flows normally and also the steam works fine. Looks like it has trapped air inside the machine, after my opinion. Usually i have
this problem when i dont use the machinefor long period. Does anyone has any suggestion? Thanks a lot!
The basket, with the tiny pin hole, gets clogged easily. Maybe try a tooth pick to clean it out.
Muy buena esplicacion 😚
I ordered this machine for my wife and when she went to use it this morning she said she heard a pop and it started to drop water around the seam and instead of the port
Did it sputter as well?
Try and see if the filter basket was properly installed into the portafilter: flush and level at the entire junction.
Also make sure that the group head is cleared of any instructions (old coffee, packaging material, etc.) that would otherwise prevent proper seal.
Finally, try to lock the portafilter into place more firmly, by hand.
I hope you can solve the problem!
Best, Michel
where did you get the stainless steel cup
Crate and Barrel
Good !!! thanks
The amount of times he clicks with his tongue is crazy
Try kimbo espresso. Napolitano or Tradizione very good.
Que cantidad de agua yeva
You need to improve the Tamping and try a finer grane, your brew flow is so hight
Were you high when you commented this?
Damn you! You said "and to clean it..." I got excited. Then you didn't take the basket off. In my Gaggia superautomatic it makes nice little dryish pucks. My Delonghi leaves a wet basket full of grinds. I guess it doesn't tamp for you or press the grinds so maybe that's normal. It's also started leaking at the group head after stopping. Doesn't leak during brewing but if the boiler still has pressure it drips into the bottom at least 1/8 cup. We have to put an empty cup under it. Might be the gasket but of course everything is hard to find. Don't want to spend $100 to fix a $7 gasket if that's what it is.
It will always drip put of the spout after pulling a shot. To avoid this, I believe you need a 3 way valve that more expensive machines have. Just put a cup under to catch drips.
Why the espresso looks like a long black?
Not sure... Stainless cup maybe?
I just bought the same machine, i thought there was something wrong with mine, cos the espresso is just too watery, not ideal for white coffees.
@@yanqiu5311 have you tried different grind settings?
@@CarsandEspresso it doesnt make sense why there is only one option for both long black and short black. you reckon I should use something finer?
No sweetener???😳
Lol... I made this video a loooooong time ago... since then, we now use Monk Fruit - Healthier :/
You never said what you found out about the little filter cup :)
Does anyone know if this machine has the 3 way solenoid valve?
It doesn't, but my pucks are quite dry. I tamp the grounds firmly, and after making my espresso, I let the steam and pressure out. Then I turn the machine off before removing the portaholder to dump the puck. If the pressure isn't released, the machine can "sneeze" when the portaholder is removed and soupy grinds can explode everywhere. This little method works very well for me -- dry pucks and no more soupy sneezes!
I have the same machine and mine takes 10+ minutes to make and I did it exactly like you
Are you using cold water or room temperature?
Ive used both
@@AJLaR21 there must be something wrong with your machine... It should only take a few minutes... Sorry
No problem thank you for replying and the helpful video!
It takes about 10 minutes to make a decent drink if you care about the quality of your beverage. I have to watch the shots and use a thermometer on the steamed milk.
Is it normal that the water comes out all time from the frother when I put it on?
If the frother is off, no water should come from it
Hi, nice video but its more your coffee machine that gives the creme not coffee itself
