The sum total of available thoughts is currently very disheartening. The nature of the accepted discourse is a sad state. I had friends over for dinner and fun tonight, and got five hours of disheartening and bland discussion with some very intelligent and well-off professional people. We are in a small place as a culture right now.

It sounds like something a Republican would say though.
I do wonder if their is a need for a single 'head of state' or central single authority figure sometimes. It seems to me that the worst things arise from those who climb on top the others, vying for power as the sole authority or even a controlled puppet being controlled behind the scenes. It's alot easier for then to have that puppet.
The constitution was written as to limit federal government to almost nothing and the POTUS was never supposed to be the type of authority it is currently but I think our founders underestimated anytime you give one person a title that is above the rest even if it is written in stone that it's not to be abused like those in the past. It eventually always will be. People are conditioned to look for that one person to make the final say. Wouldn't the government work just as well without a POTUS? Obviously, the way things are laid out would have to shift, but it if done correctly, not having one central divisive figure sure would lend a lot more accountability on the people of a country as a whole. Maybe that's pie in the sky thinking and in practice be miserable, but it is something I think about.
Not knowing history, really at all, we're doomed to relive it.

My 8 xs great grandfather and his son were speaking out against the government in Scotland so they were sent to Ireland where they once again opposed the government. This time they were thrown onto a ship and sent to America. That is how my paternal grandfathers side ended up here.
The Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 also shut down free speech and made it an arrestable offense for criticizing the Adams Administration. The Sedition Act made it illegal to make false or malicious statements about the federal government. The act was also used to suppress any political opposition towards the Federalist Party.
Plan to do a separate report on Adams in the future. What a sad fall. When you read his early writings it's like he actually got it... then he became president. Ugh.

This is the best channel ever. I can't tell you how upset / pi$$ed I was during the plannedemic. Seeing the news and how everyone was running for their lives. losers. Never wore a garment on my face, was in public, etc. It ended with a hospital murdering 5 of my family members in 7 weeks. They weren't old. They forced them on ventilators. It was horrific. Funny story about fake news and the American Revolution.
I was walking the Freedom Trail in Boston and came to the site of the famous "Boston Massacre". Boston residents came upon a lone British sentry and began taunting and throwing things at him. The sentry called for help and some British soldiers came to his aid, but Bostonians amassed quite a crowd around the soldiers and continurled to taunt and throw things at the Brits. Without an order, some soldiers panicked and shot into the crowd. When it was over, in a crowd of over 300, 5 people died.
I'm not justifying anyone's behavior here, im merely pointing out....when the term Massacre was used, I envisioned streets running red with blood and bodies lying everywhere.
I commented, when I read this little tidbit of history, was that fake news?

I was helping a mother in London with her case of her son murdered by friends and police that turned on him after he wanted out of their Cocaine trafficking ring that he grew up into from being raised in neighborhood with sons of local council members involved in the trafficking with London police.
The government has all her family and friends paid to hinder her getting support for justice while pretending to protect her.

Funny I just replied to a comment on another thread a few minutes ago. Part of it was para phrase, “ they’ve been lying to us to control us”.
The thing is government itself is nothing but a religion, it has its own belief system, its own language, and its own enforcement. I really don't think you can separate the two, they're one in the same.

This nation was founded under religious belief, cuz we all knew back then the rights are unalienable and endowed by god, our rights were pinned on paper for the government that we the people implemented at that time to protect and ensure those god-given right 👍🏻, my rights existed before The Constitution was pinned on paper.

No, this country wasn't founded on any particular religious belief. It was founded on the idea of personal freedom, including freedom of religion. That means that there is no official faith or any sort of state religion in this country, and everyone has the right to worship as one chooses. But in order to preserve that right, we cannot allow the government to become too involved in religious affairs, or else, we may end up with a state religion, which is something that the Founding Fathers of the United States didn't want, because they knew from past history that a country controlled by the Church could become a land of religious prejudice and persecution, like what happened in Spain in the days of the Spanish Inquisition. That's why they created the concept of a separation of church and state.
The Founders of the Republic may have been regular churchgoers, but they weren't Orthodox Christians or religious fanatics. They were more or less Deists, who believed that God could be found more in nature than in the Bible. A few of them were agnostics, or one who questions the existence of God, while a few others may have been atheists.
One of these was Thomas Paine, who in 1793, wrote a book entitled "The Age of Reason," which was highly critical of organized religion.
