Thank you!! For New Year's I watched every finger wave tutorial on YT to try to learn, I think this is the clearest and most straight forward out there!!
I just wanted to thank you for this video. I'm trying to get a costume together for Halloween of Lady Alcina Dimitrescu together, but I have no idea how to do the hair and make up. Your video is so clear in it's instructions for legit beginners who want to learn how to make these hair styles. :) Thank you so much! 1:11 To 2:09
Did you know that Bobbie Pins were invented FOR the waves of the 20's (when they were invented) They were marketed that way, so of course they are helpful :)
great tutorial! I have noticed you are using more colourful eyeshadows like lilac and blue etc. I have used browns and neutrals for years now...is there a specific pastel eyeshadow palette you recommend? pastel colours were quite popular in the 60s and 50s, I think they are super cool :)
I just bought the Beauty Bay EYN Bright 42 Palette - super bright shades in both shimmers and mattes - and I am LOVING it! I've only used nudes and browns for decades and figured it was time to have some fun. But I wanted to wait until I could find something decent as cheap colourful eyeshadow looks awful and is very hard to blend. This one is only £23 and its cruelty free and vegan. xx
@@MissBeeTownsend Thank you, I will have a look at that one! I always found 1960s ladies with light blue eyeshadow super cool ahahah need to recreate that look :):)
Thank you! Hmmm have you tried the hairspray I use in the video? Kenra Ultra 30 Spray? Take the strongest hold hairspray you've tried and times it by ten. No joke.
Like the others say, nice and clear explanation! But I must also know what nail polish color that is! I'm amazed at how hard it can be to find a good & inexpensive dark cherry red. 🍒
@@MissBeeTownsend Hmm, hadn't heard of that brand. Does the polish have that typical chemical smell? I only know of one brand that is relatively odorless, even among polishes with more natural ingredients.
What in the magical skills…! I would LOVE to try and recreate this but I fear my thick, poker-straight Indian hair would not stay up in a bun quietly. 😞 Excellent video nonetheless.
When I first got into styling my hair vintage, it was pretty straight, and no matter what I did it.would.not.wave. Now that it has texture (and almost curls) it’s a breeze, sometimes I don’t even have to work at it. I have heard several people mention that the texture you have naturally can have a big impact this type of styling. Of course I don’t know if you have texture or not. But I totally get the frustration. 💖
@@OsnackieO By "texture" do you mean layers or just thinning? I suspected this would help, but my hairdresser was so reluctant to thin my hair! 🙂 Finally did but I'm not sure if I might need more bottom layers.
@@streetofdreams4538 Oh, I mean texture as in not dead straight. I used to have pin straight hair and no matter what I did, it wouldn’t water wave. Now I have a bunch of waves and kinda-curls, which is what make it a perfect “medium” for this type of styling. I have pretty fine hair, so I don’t gain much from thinning out my hair. But I do give my ends some layers which makes it fall very authentic. I used a hairdressers videos here on YT called TheSalonGuy, he has some nice videos about cuts and layers for fine hair, depending on what you’re going for of course. 😊
I did one of your hair tutorials and got so many compliments, I Love your tutorials they are easy to follow. Thank you
Loved that!! I’m gonna try it tomorrow. I’m trying out new styles now that I’m stuck at home haha
Have fun! I'd love to see the results if you post online or you can DM me :) xx
Brilliant! What a joy and LOVE how detailed this is. The late Duchess of Windsor is cheering from beyond.
soooo cute! She looks adorable and glamorous all at once

Oh I'm so glad it's helpful! It's definitely difficult to explain!
Wow so beautiful and you explained it so well!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!

Nice job, Beautiful.
I've been looking for something like this! Wonderful!!
Great! Thank you!
My Grandma's sisters in the 20's used soap, to shape their curls, that would be awesome to see!
Oh how interesting!
I love this...
Pretty.
Amazing! Miss Bee you are so good at explaining things Thank you
This looks very doable!
divine

Best..
Omg you are ridiculously beautiful!!! Like… out of this world!!😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
You look so much like the character from "The Ally" in the thumbnail! 💜💜
😍😍😍😍😍Perfect
Cool 😀
Cute 😊
This style would be good with a big plastic 1920-30s “flamenco” comb in your bun, don’t you think?
Omg! I was thinking that too! My mum has a beautiful one.
Amazing . I bet it works for short hair .
Fab!
Thanks 😘
I think you look Pretty!
This style looks gorgeous on you!! unfortunately I've got horribly coarse hair that REFUSES to yield. I am very envious

Hmmm I'm not in the UK with my polish collection but I believe it's the dark red from Sensationail Nailtural collection xx

I'm not sure sorry. I haven't used that polish in months. Can anyone else answer this? 🙏💞

i'm just a browser
It won't work for thin and thinned hair, I've been trying 😭
omg, i was so scared of finding this kind of comment, this is so sad

Seemed like a good tutorial but would not recommend for people with bangs. Unfortunately I couldn't get past the first step. Great job though!
For bangs you’ll need to use gel 💖
@@MissBeeTownsend Oh, thank you!
Doesn’t work for short hair
I used to do it on bobbed chin-length hair. Not sure for shorter hair than that.
