You know you're a good dad when despite all the fancy sabers you've collected over the years, it's those plastic ones you and your son first played with that mean so much to you.
Hey Jackson, thank you so much man. I really appreciate that. Either way, the goal is to continue to stimulate my sons, imagination and creativity, as well as my own. I like to enjoy all Star Wars lightsabers, considering that all of my viewers can afford the more expensive ones. 👍🏻

I had that luke skywalker one, I still do, but the blade is gone. It's just a C battery flash light now that makes noises haha

When I was 10 I had an anakin plastic saber that was fully retractable. Admittedly it didn’t light up but the fact the blade went all the way in really sold me.
I love the detachable blade version of the Disney sabers. I have the Vader and Anakin. The saber that really reignited my desire for sabers was the jedi academy saber. It was wild at the time.

Yeah, the versions sold in the parks are the fixed blade versions. It appears the removable blades versions came out some time after the Savi and Legacy sabers due to slide lock feature on the blades. The Mace saber sold DL is the removable blade version.

When I was a kid I used to have the Kenner Power of the Force Luke Skywalker lightsaber from ROTJ. It was the best one I've ever had and I had lots of fun playing with it.
The 1996 Luke Skywalker ROTJ saber was the very first lightsaber I ever owned. Got it for my birthday. That one holds a special place in my heart

Have to say the Ahsoka Tano set. Scream saber would get me thrown out of the house, but it would be so much fun to have.

But for 2nd choice, Ahsoka or Maul saber.
The Scream saber was released a couple of years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if kids and even adults recorded fart sounds and used it as a sound.

I was hoping you had the only saber I had as a kid which was the original extendable maul. My best friend at the time might have had the extendable obi wan both from episode 1. We had so much fun with those well beyond the electronics breaking down.

I remember I always wanted a toy lightsaber as a kid but my parents wiuld never get me them so I'd actually make paper replicas of the hilts and just play with those, they didn't even have a blade. I miss those days, fun memories and what not!

I love Star Wars, but I also really love lightsabres! And your truly unique, wholesome and entertaining channel makes it THE fans’ destination in the galaxy for all things Star Wars! Being a bloody sucker for nostalgia, my favourite lightsabre(s) shown in the video would be the 1996 Return of the Jedi Darth Vader & Luke Skywalker electronic sabres. Though old and dated, those telescoping pieces of light-up plastic have a special place in me old heart! Very near and dear. However, I also really love the Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Anakin to Darth Vader Colour-Change Blade (from blue to red, that is) Lightsabre, released back in 2005. Oh, the memories! Have you ever seen and/or owned that one? I’d be interested to hear.
Anyhow, I look forward to this 3-part series (or 3 phases as you put it). You kicked things off with a cracking banger! Brilliant! I will continue to support the channel. It is fantastic! Love the content! Keep doing what you do, mate! It’s bloody excellent! Don’t change your style or humour! Hoping Landon and the rest of the Sutter family are doing well!

I've got and still have the plastic Vader one from the 80's. It was hollow tube, no electronics back then, the air would flow through the tube while swinging it to make a sound.
I do have some of the Build a Saber ones from DL and few Saber Forge sets. The latter do allow you to mix and match different sets since there is a screwing on and button lock since they come unassembled.
If you haven't seen Dan O channel, he covers lightsabers as well, but he reviews other SW stuff such as figures, playsets, droids, etc.
oh yes... I have read about these hollow tupes! lol they had slits in them I think so the air would make that squealing sound. That's awesome man, thank you so much for watching TK.

My friend has an older version of the Yoda lightsaber It looks identical to the one you showed the video but has no cover tech wheel And the blade doesn’t come out but it does have lock up

I stumbled on your channel because I was looking to buy some plastic sabers. I ordered 2 already on shop Disney. My mom couldn’t afford to get them for me when I was younger, but know that I have that adult money I am able to purchase them. Awesome content and will keep watching!

That first Vader lightsaber is the Episode III configuration, not shown in the movie but seen in promo shots, and I think there was a deleted scene that showed off that Vader lightsaber.
You know I have the scream saber as well it’s funny how the smooth swing is better than any toy lightsaber that exists

I have the darksaber forge one it's fun to mix and match
I went to Disney world during my freshman year of high school and in Epcot, they had a shop where I made a custom plastic lightsaber with my eyes closed, and it cost me about $125 at the time. This took place in April of 2018
And the Darth Maul you presented at the end was awesome, just as the wands in Harry Potter, you can make an infinity saber hilt designs!

I ordered via Lucasfilm Magasine in France and it was the coolest thing of all the time when I got it 😍
I got two of the Darth Maul forge sabers and swapped the pieces so the end emitters are similar and made two distinct staff sabers each with a different look.
Please make a lightsaber collectibles history video, I've been so curious as to exactly when metal sabers became commonplace.

That's pretty cool I have about half of the lightsabers toys because I am nuts about lightsabers too but I don't have the 90's version of Luke and vader but my favorite toy lightsaber is kylo ren's lightsaber from the last jedi it's a Saber where the blades do not detach it's all one toy but it's super cool and the sounds are super accurate straight out of the movie so awesome and so are you obi-dad kenobi

Disney just released a new mace windu plastic lightsaber with the removable blade
It's available in DL now, I have no idea about WDW. It runs around $40 but I used my Magic key discount and paid $34.
Really hope they make a cheap Luke lightsaber with removable blade.

I had the kylo with fixes blade, live the hilt, and it’s extremely nice in my opinion for what it is, honestly now that I remember it I think I may just repaint the hilt, and ditch the blades since I broke them playing so much with it.

The led strings can be repaired or replaced, if you're willing to tear the hilt and blade apart. There's also saber smiths who would do the work too. (you tube has videos on how to do this also, and some how to move the leds closer together).
