- AAAND I SAID WHAT ABOUT BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S?! SHE SAID I THINK I REMEMBER THE FILM AND--
Anyway, if you're not a fan of that brilliant song, I hope you're at least a fan of classic literature! This was an interesting one for me, because I don't do well with books that have no likable characters. However, I enjoy Capote's writing style. What are your thoughts on this one? Should I watch the movie now? Hopefully I'll like Hepburn's version of Holly Golightly better!

I love how everyone got something completely different from the book. I feel such a connection with Holly and understand every thought she has.
I absolutely agree. To me, Holly is an interesting character who's decisions were at times difficult to understand, but with more context clues about her history and such, I found myself rooting for her. I really like her lol.
Truman Capote his talent in telling a story is phenomenal. The way he starts this one absolutely ensnares you immediately. So many instances of this in this novella. I really enjoyed it, Holly is so different from the character in the movie. She’s complex but not without redeeming qualities. Now I have to read Catcher in the Rye based on your comments 😂
Hello! Commenting a year after this was posted. 😄 Saoirse, I always love to hear your breakdowns of books, and this one was no exception. And, I didn't know your cats were once feral! They are so loving. 🥰 Our cat, Emma, has a "boyfriend" who's feral ... it's adorable. Anyways, why I'm here ... a video popped up in my feed about this story: movie vs. book. After watching it, it made me want to read the book again ... which I've just started. Did you know that when Capote created his character of Holly Golightly (what a name!) that he had Marilyn Monroe in mind? As I read this story for a second time, I'll have the essence of her in my thoughts. Question - is it just me or did others find the whole "Holly in Africa, and a bust carved of her" a bit out there?
"I'm a writer, I can spend 20 minutes in a sentence" It was hilarious! This video was so funny. I really love that you can't edit videos.
Real Life Pam! I always like the aesthetic of your reviews....natural!
I wish you success in your work
You should make new videos. You should continue your useful posts.
Good luck.
he he I just love to see how you dress up for your book review, you are such a classic beauty. WAAA!
Have you ever read “Flights” by Olga Tokarczuk? I’d be curious on your impressions.
No I haven't! Should I add it to the list?
@@SaoirsesShelf Yes. She has a very unique style. I loved the book and I’m a fan of complex introspective novels.
I'm curious did you like this movie ? I've just watched it ;)
I actually still haven't seen it! There are so many film adaptations of books I've read that I just haven't gotten around to yet. Need to change that!
@@SaoirsesShelf i asked because i didn't like it , but always thought that it's great movie ))
The “never love a wild thing” line is pretty wrong in the sense that many woman are actually attracted to the ‘wild’ men bc whether they consciously realize it or not they have a desire to civilize/tame the ‘wild’ man . Which is one of the ideas behind a story like Beauty and the Beast, part of the attraction to the beast was that he was untame/wild/aggressive and she gets to tame and civilize him. -Credit to Jordan Peterson for some of the thought
A tale as old as time
