During our stay, we had the pleasure of experiencing the old world charm of the Balcony Lake View King Room. This room not only provided us with a comfortable canopy kind bed but also offered a private balcony with a breathtaking view of the lake. It was truly a treat to wake up to such a beautiful sight and enjoy the serene ambiance.
While the TV placement off to the side made it a bit challenging to watch from bed, we quickly realized that this room and the hotel itself are more focused on exploration and relaxation rather than TV time. The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island is a haven for those seeking tranquility and a chance to immerse themselves in the surroundings.
Although the bathroom was on the small side, it didn't pose much of an issue for us since our stay was just for one night. We were delighted to find that our hotel package included a delightful 5-course dinner and a scrumptious 3-course breakfast, adding to the overall experience of our stay.

Wow, a real four poster bed. The desk looks authentic all scuffed and scarred. Lovely view from the balcony. The room has all mod cons but is beautifully historic.

Thank you so very much for sharing this!! I was there 26 yrs ago after watching " Somewhere in Time" but didn't stay at The Grand as they call it on the island.....and I named my daughter after Jane Seymour's "Somewhere inTime " movie character - seeing the movie filmed on Mackinac is all it took for me to go and experience it for myself... my friend and I loved it so much... my brother and wife went last summer. LOVED it. Thanks so much again! Great room great view! :-) Planning a trip back there soon!
Thanks for watching! We loved staying at The Grand Hotel. Wish our stay had been longer. There are so many fun activities around the hotel like ballroom dancing in the evening. Really transports you! We still have to check out the movie. Saw posters of it in the hotel.
@@bendiventures no way- you must watch the movie- men love it too- not just a chick flick! it's amazing... and I always wanted to get a photo of my daughter with her hair just like Janes in the portrait- going to try to book soon- they are pretty filled up but I still see a day here and a day there at other beautiful places with good reviews. I see the lunch buffet went from $25 to $75...at the Grand Hotel since 1997! Thanks for your reply!
