    A 'readme' file on the Impulse product can be opened when you connect the product to your computer via USB. Here you can read the following about Global EQ:
    IMPULSE IR LOADER has a global EQ compensation tool on board. This consists of two EQ filters which can be tweaked, LO and HI.
    This can compensate for the colour of different outboard gear without reloading a different set of IR.
It can also be used for fast tweaking when using IMPULSE in a studio or headphones setup without reloading a new IR.
    LO - Low shelving filter with a boost equal to +/- 12dB at 100Hz - This filter will affect the low frequencies of your signal

    HI - High shelving filter with a boost equal to +/- 12dB at 10kHz - This filter will affect the high frequencies of your signal.
    1. Press both < and > buttons simultaneously to enter global EQ

    2. Press > navigation button to access the HI EQ filter control

    3. Press < navigation button to access the LO EQ filter control

    4. Use the LEVEL control knob to adjust the selected filter

    5. Press both < and > buttons simultaneously to exit global EQ

    6. If + or - values have been set on either of the global EQ filters, an EQ symbol will be displayed on-screen during the operation
    To reset the filters to neutral (0), repeat steps 1 - 3 and set the LEVEL control at 12 O'Clock

    We've included a dead zone around 12 O'Clock to make it easy to set your GLOBAL EQ at neutral

    If both LO and HI filters are set to 0, the EQ symbol will not be displayed during operation.
    NOTE: When the GLOBAL EQ filters are both set to 0, they are completely transparent and have no effect on your loaded IR

      is it possible to mix the signal of the instrumento or the IR is only "on/off"?

    Hi Henning, Thank You for making this awesome video! The Impulse actually does have Global EQ. The EQ has HI and LOW filters. Press both navigation buttons simultaneously to enter the EQ menu.

    I love my TC IR. So simple. The celestion IRs are okay out of the box. I've now loaded some York Audio. Great. And like others have said, there is an EQ by holding both arrow buttons. You can also play snake on it.

    i love acoustic IRs i use a tonedexter pedal to make a IR that is perfectly fit for my guitar and a match eq of a miced sound and then i send a sweep through the tone dexter to get a IR that fits perfectly to my acoustic guitar and now works on every IR loader ... totally recommended

    This little box does a nice long 200ms IR; with a lot of the simple IR loaders it’s more like 20ms so the right IR’s should be able to capture the sound of a mic’d amp in a room.

  • @seitsen
    @seitsen Рік тому +4

    These intro songs are like "how many different guitars can i":
    1) use in one song
    2) show on the video

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  Рік тому +2

      there is a logic behind it… using the same guitar doesn’t make it clear that it is a different part and function in the song… another guitar visualizes a different part and also makes the video more interesting

      Same here - I currently have a Mooer TresCab, and it actually works very well with Hi-Gain Pedals. I've run a Mooer Black Secret right into the TresCab and direct into my Interface, and it sounded great.

      The radar models power amp, tubes, and mics and has eq as well as on board IRs. And you can load 3rd party IRs but can't use the tubes or mic or eq on 3rd party IRs. This TC unit sounds a bit crisp and direct to me compared to the Radar.

    I still prefer my mooer radar. Having my ir loader cab sim turned on and off or the ability to switch from one ir to another i think is very unnecessary.
    Mooer radar is far more tweakable, and has all the Essential stuff a pro guitarist and a music producer would need
    even if it has just one knob , it can do all the tweaks you need except for loading iRs of ur choice which requires computer. Radar has a power amp section which lets you choose from 4 different tubes adjustable with input and output level plus adjustable presence too.
    Radar also lets you choose between multiple mic simulators that is equipped with adjustments for volume, mic distance or placement towrds the speakrs of cab. Radar also has 3 eq sections, for guitar, bass and a powerful 4 frequency parametric eq. Radar also has a very high headroom when it comes to output.
    With all these essentials you can come up with your own unique tone which others may not have. Radar is a bit cheaper too.

    • @rakistastuffs7094
      @rakistastuffs7094 6 місяців тому

      Btw, some may comment radar only has 23 milliseconds of samples.... 23 milliseconds is already enough and impressive to simulate cabs and is approved by pete thorn and many others.

    I think its simplicity is its strength. We have become bogged down with too many choices. Case in point, thousands in the AxeFX. How many actual cabs do people have around the house to choose from? Also, I love that they are industry standard Celestion IR's. Great review Henning!

    I have a nice Marshall tube amplifier with great sound at moderate volume levels. But I live in an apartment and I would like to maintain a healthy relationship with my neighbours. Since I play mostly late in the evening, I am stuck to using the emulated headphone output. Even though I still love my amplifier, the emulated output's sound quality is absolute horse shit.
    After I saw your review on this pedal, I was convinced this product in combination with an audio interface would be the perfect solution for playing (and recording) silently at home. Let me tell you, since I own this pedal, I actually never use my amplifier anymore, lol.
    Thanks!

    • @karnbroad8504
      @karnbroad8504 Рік тому +1

      The Flamma like the Mooer is about 20-25ms IR length - this is 200. Not certain about the Cab M+, but if it's near the price of the Boss unit, then the Boss goes up to 500ms and puts amp and cab Its together.....

    • @scentia_est
      @scentia_est Рік тому

      I compared some IRs of the Ownhammers new Essentials pack and they always sound shit when you run them through the Flamma (in my case), because those pedals are not made for the length of 200 ms and more. In the higher frequencies you get just white noise and lose all transients of the guitar. Unfortunately the Flamma could be very nice for this price range (Stereo) but you can't use it for recording. I had to send it back because it is worthless in a DAW.

    Have you tried the tonedexter pedal? it is the perfect solution for acoustic tones imo. Just because it makes an IR that fits perfectly to your own guitar. Fishman aura and prebuilt IRs are always a IR of a match eq that is not made with your own guitar and therefore never fits perfectly. with the tonedexter you can do that and afterwards you can make a normal IR out of it

  • @vio4jesus
    @vio4jesus 10 місяців тому

    Unfortunately..... this pedal doesn't have a wet/dry mix ;-( if you want to use IRs to improve the sound of acoustic instruments with pickups, then you may blend your raw sounds with the sound from the IR. The Line 6 Helix IRs have a wet/dry, and the Axe Fx III has this feature as well. IRs are for so much more than just amp/cab simulations. Acoustic musicians always get - nothing. Think outside the Amp/Camp Box.

    I really don't understand all this newer technology- new to me anyway, I guess it's not technically "new" any longer. Anyway- could you run pretty much any preamp pedal into this thing you want? Or does it need to be a digital modeler of some kind? Like- if I had an amp in a box style pedal- an analogue one- can I run it into this thing and then what- out to FRFR speakers? Or does it need to run out to a powered board or some kind of power amp? It's hard for me to believe that little pedal is pushing many watts. Are FRFR speakers self-powered- meaning they basically have a power amp built into them? I'm lost.

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  Рік тому +1

      it is not an amp, it pushes line level… so use any preamp or pedal you want with it and then you could go into an FRFR, which is powered
