Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- I picked up this Zacian and Zamazenta edition of the Nintendo Switch Lite off of from eBay for £60.
It was sold as no power. But it is in beautiful condition.
Let's see if we can restore power and fix it!
Hope you enjoy!
Steve
PS. I'm not an expert in repairs at all. I do this for fun, and it may not be the best or safest way to go about repairing broken stuff. I'm pretty good at melting plastic though. Please don't copy me - I'm an idiot.

Time for a "It's never the fuse"-counter! :')
😅 love it!
Perhaps a wee scrape at the pcb coating to give yourself more to bond to.@@StezStixFixThanks for the videos.
It's never lupus!
@@Dukefazon Exactly what I was thinking. 'Oh, it actually IS Lupus!'.
Definitely a 'too early to assemble' counter is needed
Of all the switches I've seen repaired, this is the first one that was just the fuse. Good luck. Big hug, Steve.
I've repaired tons of switches (all models) and only once was it ever a fuse and it was on an OLED. Most times it's the M92T36 IC.
You always joke about the song, but it honestly makes my week.
😊 glad someone listens 🎶 🙏 thanks infinity!
They are so good, that must take some time to make too !
I think Steve needs to release an LP 🤣🤣🤣 showing my age
@@StezStixFix i really like your songs too man
Sounding like mezzanine era massive attack 👍
4:51 those pins in the charge port look like almost all of them are lifted, or maybe it's just the lighting? My thoughts though, what caused the fuse to blow? 'cause that thing has a hole in the centre it's so blown. My thoughts go back to the charge port looking rather sketchy
Indeed
I agree, that fuse didn't just die from old age, it went out from a significant short circuit and those (internal) usb pins looked very suspect.
yup the charge port was mank - lifted pins & filthy
Nice to get lucky sometimes.
My favourite Switch. Retro grey and the coloured joysticks really pop. Perhaps an OLED mod upgrade video?
Ooh, hadn't thought of doing that. Good idea!
I concur I’m going to upgrade my screen when I get back to the UK!
Could be months that mind 😂💪
15:54 Worlds best poker face.
Another StezStix Fix video! The highlight of my week! Wish there was more than one!
12:22 - every time you say this I always check the progress bar for my spoiler lol
I love how you apply EXACTLY the incorrect amount of thermal paste 😘
That statement made me laugh so hard that I had to reply it to make sure I heard it right.
The song needs respect! To be that creative and doing something special for subs. Its pretty next level! Videos are great. I dont even repair electronics but watch every video!
steve: i'll look without showing the camera so you wont know if it worked
also steve: :O ima put it back together!
me: yep...its on.
The "shout out" to Tronics Fix with the not perfect amount of thermal paste made me giggle. :)
I know you sing for fun, but I must admit you're getting better at it.
I loved that you kept the suspense up until very end! Almost.
Thank you man for the videos, simple and perfect as it is 🙏🏻
I never grow tired of you genuinely being surprised with your repairs.
I never skip the song btw. It separates you from other similar channels.
I wanna grow to be like you steve, keep up the good content 🙏
Get in !!! Hope you feel better Steve ! ❤
Rebel without a clue! You. Are an superb Steve!
Love you Steve! 🤣🤣 I shouldn't put it back together, but I am! Rebel! 🤣🤣
thsese vids just keep getting better and better! Keep it going!
Hey man, cool to see you pop up in my home after all these months!
Nice to see this Switch in a video. I have this same model. 👍🏼 Good video, Steve! The “I’m not gonna show the switch screen” part had me rolling 😂
Brilliant fix Steve thanks 😊
Joey is now screaming "I've bought 5000 of these and not once has it ever been just the fuse"
To be honest a fuse can blow because of high current input or a failed component, fuse may not fix the cause if it's a failed component
@@why_wait Ok nerd.
You are correct, you didn't check continuity from the right side of the fuse to the track and when it didn't power up that was my guess
Brilliant work as always, guess it sometimes is the fuse 😅
Nicely done Steve!
That cold makes him sound British.
Being British makes him sound British.
lmao
Kudos on the aluminium tape :) But you might want something slightly thicker that does not disintergrate. It's s fun learning curve.
Fantastic t-shirt
Love the T-Shirt!
The man sounds super sick but still puts out a rap. Zach-Ian is a good legendary pokemon 😅
Did you really say that these fuses are “indestructible” at 7:47? Isn’t the job of the fuse to be the first and most destructible?
😂
The company I work for brought a job lot of faulty Switch Lite's last year, 22 of them and not one of them was due the fuse. All of them was either due to the battery charging chip, the USB-C controller chip or the CPU. Only 6 of them I was unable to repair because 5 were CPU faults and we do not have the capability of changing CPU chips and the other was the BGA wifi chip had gone faulty. The individual cost of the Lite's did not make it cost effective to spend time replacing the wifi controller chip.
A nice easy one for you Steve.
Gordon the gopher never ceases to crack me up 😂
I’d love to know the track listings on your videos - the music is always amazing 👌🏻
I much prefer when you fully reassemble before confirming success. It is the thrill of a job well done with a tiny bit of schadenfreude when you have to take it back apart.
Hi , I have a curiosity question. I see that you seem to use a powerbank to test and confirm items. Is this just a preference, over a bench power system. Could you please iterate why you do it this manner.
Thank you . From far far away over a vast water and even larger plot of land. Also a bit more water and a bit more land.
Stez is the Bezt!
That charging port looked rough pins like an NHS smile.
Zacian (Zar-Shun) is the one with a sword in its mouth, and only in Pokemon Sword. Zamazenta (Zah-muh-zen-tuh) is the one with the shield head and only in Pokemon Shield. Nice repair! Very, very satisfying seeing it work.
Like the tronicfix-blink the incorect amount😂
13.32 that was way to much, perfect😎
sometimes repairs can surprise even newer era fuses can burst and those need replaced
and for your test. shocked you didn't use the "Super horn" to block the blooper attack
Saw a dead ringer for you shopping at a designer outlet this afternoon, didnt seem to have a bag of faulty electronics so thought it mustnt be you 😂
Tell Joey so much for the indestructible fuse lol
I have to say it again you make me laugh so much with the gopher
0:09 You got the pronounciation on the first try.
Good Job!!
Been ''binge" watching, what a hoot! You should be an expert by now with all the game devices you've repaired. It's the troubleshooting that's interesting IMO. Complete re-assembly before testing?, uh not recommended unless necessary, just saying😉 Thanks for the videos and work.
I would love to hear the back story on Dave.
Aprils fool a bit early. The fuse never dies😂
You sound like you might have a cold. If so get well soon Steve.
i thought the same thing
Ah POGS that brought back some memories :)
I'm no science man but that thermal paste amount looks accurate
Always check the port before you plug anything into mate can cause more problems
Patreons need their own album.. Peace :D
After all this time, the foreshadowing of deciding to close it all up before testing is still hilarious. And did you really get a switch AND the installed game? Even just Mario cart Switch is a great value. I don't know, but in a few years time, when current kids become adults, a vintage special edition Switch will surely be worth more than now. Probably a good retirement investment
Have you ever thought about releasing the raps in Spotify? You are really really really good !
The first song gave me Cyberpunk 2077 vibes.
“The incorrect amount of thermal paste” 😂 do you hate Steve 😂
Evening from the east of the UK 👍🙂
You make soldering seem fun & approachable which really helped me get into it! Keep up the great work & never stop being your silly english self
Amazing how things are a lot smaller nowdays if this came out in the 80's it would be the size of a fridge
On the one hand it's nice when it's just the fuse on the other it's always concerning when you don't know why the fuse blew as that means it might happen again.
Not many have the skillz nor audacity to rhyme "power" with "Sigmafour" 😂
...i like watching, your videos while i eat dinner...
You should become Nintendo's official Switch repair service at this point. How many is that now😂
I'm always sad when someone says "first things first" and they do not follow it with "I'm the realest".
Why does steve always makes us shout at the screen when putting the device together without checking it works first... 😅😂
Never, EVER use "Aluminum" again. As a fellow Englishman, you know its "ALUMINIUM"!
From my experience living in the UK, when I go to the shop I need to look for TIN foil (why tin? its a different element), or kitchen foil, Aluminum does not exist. You guys scared all the companies in to branding it as a generic word or even a completely different material. You guys measures things in pints and stones but want the rest of us to believe you know how to spell properly 😂
I thought we'd switched over and the Americans gave up sulfur? Or maybe it was the other way round?
@@TheOriginal_BigMac Why would they give up Sulfur? Its the appropriate spelling. The guy who named Aluminum originally called it Alumium before changing it. Then some other guy came along and started calling it Aluminium.
Incorrect amount of thermal paste? Electronics noob, just here for the entertainment. What's this about? Thanks for the content.
this channel has got me interested in doing the same - please don't sue me for sharing and using your content Steven lol
Aloominum🙈 i can't take it anymooore!
Would have been nice to put the thermal camera on there just to make sure nothing's heating up after you fixed the fuse
Im. Here and ready to learn...
I hate doing PCB assembly work with a cold and having to sneeze when there's flux on my hands!
Honestly? All those people who whined about the evils of masks never had to work on anything delicate while suffering from a head cold, especially while bending over a work surface.
GGs Thank YOU!.
I saw the thumbnail with all those “z’s” and I thought the algorithm sent me a new cute Polish tutor, lol.
When I think of the greatest rebels of all time, I think of William Wallace, Bob Dylan, and Steve.
Nice.
Great video. If you don't plug in the battery, you Pokémon.
You got very close to using the correct amount of thermal paste there - please be more careful in future.
The pins on that port looks lifted, probably why the fuse blew.
All good in tha hoooood
Aluminum pronounced like an American and Fahrenheit for the hot air station. We’re losing you! 😂
Im thinking may be a port error cause the fuse to blow not sure if it was the lights and camera but it look like some pins had been bent/lifted
Hi, I have a question what gauge of wire enamel you use in "mm" to repair traces or to wire to something on boards ? what brand and where could I found some ?
the question its why the fuse blow? you should test all other components to
A cold? Well, I'd take an influenza over an influencer any day, though
So, I don't skip the song but I mute my PC. Does that count? I like to see you take apart whatever you're working on.
Every video you get better at fixing...but your beats and BARS keep gettin sharper and cooler...it would be good a steztix album in spotify
"I won't show it on camera, so you won't know..." 😳😆
Cheese, apparently if I leave anything it helps the algowiffam.
If you spell it correctly not so much.
If I had a fuse that small, it would be blowing all the time, for sure.
You shouldn't :D
Btw, please reset your air flow to 100%, we want to see flying components ! ;)
Just like that one time it was Lupus.
Never been a fan of Nintendo's ribbon cables especially ds screen one you have between the 2 screens
Those thumbnail creatures look like Pokemon with chainsaws for asses.
And that's a dream come true.
