    Hey Dan, I love the design but as I'm assembling, I'm trying to figure out the purpose of the oring on the front of the plunger that seals in the turn around. maybe this is a dumb question but since no air travels through the center, I just cant make sense of why it would need to seal there.

    • @orionblasters6342
      @orionblasters6342  8 місяців тому +1

      When that o-ring enters and seals inside the turnaround it prevents any more air from entering and escaping through the turnaround. That trapped air gets turned into a cushion for the plunger, slowing it down. The system is called an airbrake and I did not invent it!

    Can't wait for parts to be back in stock! Although I think the thing I will work to replace myself is the catch, since it's will be hitting that metal nut at the end of the plunger.

    What length is the bar that sits inside the top rail? I didn't see that bar called out on your drawings for the bars (I assume because it doesn't have any holes/slots cut in to it)

    • @orionblasters6342
      @orionblasters6342  3 роки тому +2

      10.75", yes it's missing from the drawings as those drawings were originally drafted up to get bids from machine shops, and the rail bar is so quick/easy to manufacture I wasn't thinking about outsourcing it. Have a good one!

    Nice! what diameter for the threaded rod and flange lock nuts?

    • @orionblasters6342

      Both are size 8-32. Look for "8-32 Flanged Locknut" and "8-32 Threaded Rod" on the BOM linked below. The BOM includes links to where you can buy those components on McMaster-Carr, which conveniently also has dimensioned drawings of these components. • @orionblasters6342
      @orionblasters6342  3 роки тому +1

      I like the pump grip that EnderSavesTheDay came up with, he bundled it with the other Lynx parts he developed. There's a full and stubby version. You also need to print the Slug AFG core piece to lock the foregrip to the rail. Files here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:4629645/files

      Hi Kurtis! A couple hours ago some other Lynx owners and I figured out that the plunger tube material I've been shipping out recently has been too big. It turns out that while it is technically within the manufacturers spec, it is much larger than what we normally get and thus doesn't seal well with the included hardware. I apologize for not catching it - until this point I've never received a bad batch of plunger tube material, so I didn't know to be checking the dimensions. I'll be sending an email out in the coming days to all that purchased hardware kits in the last few weeks to work on resolving the issue. In the meantime some of the lynx owners with oversized plunger tubes have used teflon tape under the oring to fix the seal. While I wouldn't consider this a permanent solution, it's at least enough to get you through a few games while we figure out a better fix. Look for that email in the coming days, thanks!

      Should have said it is a silver fox build kit.

    • @orionblasters6342
      @orionblasters6342  3 роки тому

      The plot thickens! I only know about my plunger tubes - a few weeks back the ones I received were a little foggy, but I didn’t think much of it. I’ll ask silverfox if they encountered a similar batch - they source some hardware from me, and do the rest (including the plunger tube) themselves. I may have jumped the gun a little diagnosing your issue. A sure sign that your plunger tube is oversized is the plunger has NO resistance (and barely even touches) the plunger tube - is that the case?

    • @kurtiskeys483
      @kurtiskeys483 3 роки тому

      @@orionblasters6342 no it touches but it slides on though it way to easy like it needs to be just a bit smaller.
