So many Christians criticized and attacked him , but he saved many people and gave us a voice with his art and music, including me , the abused , the bullied , the ostracized ,the rejected ,the suicidal, those suffering from health issues or mental , no god ever helped me , it was people like Marilyn Manson who did !

Back in the day, I was in art college and I had a Symbolism in Art class, where I was allowed to chose whatever I wanted as my final presentation. I got my hands on the VHS of the collected music videos, and played this song in front of my whole class, then dissected the video to explain how it equated Catholic religious rituals with American Culture, referencing drug use as a mere facade for coping and surviving with a greater, systemic evil. I'm pretty sure I alienated a lot of people, but I felt so proud of my 18 year old self in that moment.

Mechanical Animals is possibly the most overlooked and underappreciated album of the '90s. Most people never got past "The Dope Show" and "I Don't Like the Drugs", but the entire album was impeccably produced, to a sheen really, by design. Every song exudes this plastic glam sound that perfectly evokes the themes of the album. Even it's packaging, in the aqua blue CD case was an important part of the package. It's only minor flaw might be that it's never very subtle, but that's just nitpicking. It didn't sound like anything else at the time, or anything after, and it's by far his best work. Holy Wood mined the same territory, but his star and influence had waned as a result of the bogus Columbine accusations, and that album become nothing so much as a soundtrack response to that event. Mechanical Animals is still endlessly listenable and filled with amazing hooks and riffs.

I absolutely love how Manson used the Alpha and Omega characters. Omega being a gender-ambiguous alien discovered on Earth, Omēga is kidnapped on behalf of the recording industry and transformed into a rock star, fronting the group Omēga and the Mechanical Animals. Alpha being a facet of Manson himself. Omegas songs are about Hollywood, sex, and drugs while Alphas songs are about heartbreak and pain.
      Omega songs:
      The Dope Show
      Rock Is Dead
      I Want To Disappear
I Don't Like The Drugs (But The Drugs Like Me)
      New Model No. 15
      User Friendly
      Fundamentally Loathsome
      Alpha songs:
      Great Big White World
      Mechanical Animals
      Disassociative
      The Speed Of Pain
      Posthuman
      The Last Day On Earth

Punkrock Baby In 1921, the stretch of Wilshire Boulevard now known as the Miracle Mile was a 20-foot-wide dirt road, flanked by oil wells and barley fields. Today, the strip is a busy thoroughfare, home to museums, the La Brea Tar Pits, and a collection of historic Art Deco structures. The story of the Miracle Mile's stunning transformation from cow path to commercial artery - told through selected images from the region's photographic archives - is part of the larger narrative of L.A.'s decentralization, as electric railways and automobiles encouraged sprawl and drained the downtown retail district of its vitality.

She was a paranoid schizophrenic who tried so hard to become stable but unfortunately the pill she was given to treat her psychosis killed her as she developed TENS syndrome ( where the skin detaches from the body) so when he said she was bleeding like a Polaroid it really hit hard. Not to be a downer but this song really represents her. Rest easy mom...

Actually, if you read his biography "Long Hard Road Out of Hell" you will find that his grandmother was the one who was mentally ill, as well as his grandfather. He went to Catholic School till his family moved from Ohio to Florida, which is where he finished school. His father wrote childrens books and his mother was a home maker. He had gotten into trouble a lot when he was in Catholic School for not obidding by their rules. His grandmother would make him and his cousins kneel on broomsticks as a punishment for hours on end, his grandfather would lock himself in his basement and look at adult things. He had a very rough childhood but look what happens later on when we get older.

Is it wrong to say Marilyn Manson actually have saved my life more Than once?
All the times Where I was inches from giving up and giving in to the Pain, Manson would help me turn The Pain inside out, help me to let those tears flow and clean out my system..
The anger, the hate, the Feeling of never being good enough..
All that did Manson help me cope with..
As said, i honestly think I wouldnt be alive today, right now, if it wasnt for the music of Marilyn Manson..
He helped me when i had no one else
(Least no one who could understand and relate to that pain)

    • @FlyingMonkies325
      @FlyingMonkies325 3 роки тому +8

Believe me we can ALL understand that pain especially the way our society is these days the Cancel Culture just totally invalidating, gaslighting, manipulating, alienating and bullying people for no reason... or just simply for money... The Education System being one of the worst cogs in the machine where people just go into teaching simply to invalidate kids, teens and adults of all ages, colors and religions, i just had about enough of The Education System myself especially after the last course i was in where i thought enough damage wasn't done to me in High School but noop... took an even darker turn where i've never felt so angry and used in my life...
Teachers say things like "How do you know you're right when even i don't?" i'm sorry... Would you care to say that to my face again?, they watch you like hawk too to control HOW or What you do with everything you do... but refuse to teach you how to learn by yourself at home not even a single lesson on Note Taking cos they call it "A waste of time" just because everybody would write them the way they understand them, Colleges especially are increasingly controlling things by calling it "cheating" by allowing you to take your work home... giving you no chance away from them to have more time to properly learn things and improve on it thus allowing zero original thought, it's getting super bad out there. Then there's Social Media and how that's affected people it's like... anyone who claims they don't know how it feels are lying pieces of shit lol.

Also, in the midst of such a tragedy, did you really believe that Manson's music pushed you to do that? It's really ridiculous.
