Tristan and Isolde -- Robert A. Johnson's "We"

- This SophiaCycles video essay explores the myth of Tristan and Isolde, through the lens provided by Robert Johnson in his book, "We". This myth, Johnson argues, marks a shift in human consciousness with the removal of our longing for the divine and its projection into the field of human relationships. The impoverishment of our relationships because of that shift is worth examining.

This was so well done thank you. I could actually FOLLOW you. And I’ve finally learned the myth. In a way I can use. You have told it so well.
Thanks so much!!!
Currently finishing up Johnson’s “We”. Great breakdown and good audio.
Thanks!
I really enjoy this format of insightful retellings of archetypal myth.. Opened the eyes of my understanding into the nature of loving relationships. Thank you!
Becoming aware of double anima was helpful. Integrating the Divine feminine within and valuing the kind embodied women in my world. Intimacy with both in soulful oneness.
Thank you for this 🙂
Just great think piece. Should be shown to all teenagers and twenty somethings lookin 4 true soul mates. Brilliant really like your videos
Wow, thank you so much for your summary and reflections. Just excellent!
You make great videos keep them up!
Thank you! Much appreciated.
This retelling of the myth complements and deepens the ideas I took away from Hollis's The Eden Project.
Bravo! 👏👏
Moral of the story, is only God can fill you and is your one true forever love that doesn't destroy
Just noticed your Twitter account no longer exists (?). It's a shame because I really enjoyed your daily content.
My Twitter account most definitely still exists! I changed the handle from @sophiacycles1 to @sophiacycles. I was not able to use @sophiacycles when I first joined Twitter, but the user who had that handle left so I grabbed it. Thanks for letting me know, though, so that I could update the Twitter handle here!
Absolutely great video, thank you. Do you think that a relationship could be worth living without that projection/illusion romantic love phase?
Johnson argues that we must first get our own inner house in order before we can ever hope to have deep and meaningful relationships with other people. His books "HE" and "SHE" helps us understand what that works looks like. I have made two videos where I explore these works in part: the one on Parsifal [HE] and the one on Cupid and Psyche [SHE].
@@SophiaCycles Thank you so much. Heading straight into these.
Thank you. This was eye opening!
Thanks for the feedback!
