Yo, Cody, I just wanted to quickly say that your content was brilliant. You were able to talk about your experiences with race and cultural differences without even dropping so much as a glimmer of racism or prejudice in your bit...and you managed to do it fucking hilariously. You found the similarities within the divide and material like this, I feel, will actually bring people together. Incredible observation. Thanks, man. Cheers.

Bruh that shit sent me 😂😂
Fucking facts
I know some rich white kids that could use a ass whipping, I'm related to them!
A whole masters degree dissertation. So loaded😅
That's abusive behavior, but he explained it soooo wellll lol. There's no privileges to take away 😭 😂
I also grew up as a poor white kid in a trailer, and I almost spit my coffee out laughing lmao 🤣
That was 100% facts.
I was a white kid that lived in a trailer and went to a nearly all-black school. I understood all of this real quick, and it was very infuriating as well as scary, to have the adults that were in control of everyone's' lives be so clueless.
In school, when somebody wants to fight you, you are now going to get fought AND punished no matter what you do, and oftentimes in some of these really messed up schools, the people going around starting fights with everyone aren't even getting punished and that's the reason they're able to act that way every day. When a group of people are about to attack you, and everyone is watching, the teacher's advice is not going to work. The adults all tell you to basically act like a wimp, say you don't want to fight, and run to a teacher for help. But what they're not considering is that you have to survive for 7-8 hours a day in that building with these same people for years. Snitch on them today and they will find you again. If they get expelled, their friends will find you and it will be even worse. And other people watching will want to attack you too, because you made yourself "look like a bitch". When people are bullying and attacking you, especially physically, you have to stand up for yourself, it's the only way to survive, and schools need to ALLOW you to stand up for yourself. For me, getting constantly reprimanded for defending myself was way more traumatizing to me than the people that would gang up on me and slam my head into concrete. Fights I could handle, physical pain I could handle, but feeling like I had no choice but to be a victim, getting punished just for hitting back, made me feel like the whole world was against me, because my whole world was.
And his joke about hitting his friend to rise up the food chain is realer than it sounds. A lot of the kids that started fights with me were actually other white kids that acted like they were my friends and then attacked me in front of everyone, so they wouldn't get bullied, because they were bullies. I even said some mean things to kids a couple of times in elementary school to try and climb up that food chain, but I didn't like how it felt and I regretted it, I felt like I should have been defending them instead, but I was a kid under pressure that wasn't thinking straight, and I made a mistake.
These schools are toxic. Adults are running these schools like they don't remember what it was like to be in them. They aren't, won't, and can't, protect kids from every negative experience. So they need to let them protect themselves when no one else will. Otherwise they are forcing them to spend their formative years as victims.
Very well said! I'm in total agreement with you.
No blacks will comment under this thread.

@@codyjwoods That was hella funny man holy shit.
I grew up poor as sh!t. I remember being a freshman and getting made fun of because my dad found a pair of size 13 chuck Taylors. I wore them because I didn't have a choice. I was a size 10 at the time. So embarrassing being that kid. I fought a lot because everyone always picked on me for my clothes. By the end of freshman year I had started my own business doing landscaping and washing vehicles. At 15 years old I was making about $60 a day working for 3 or 4 hours every day after school. It built character and made me stronger. Now I make more than most everyone who made fun of me.
That's the lesson. When life gives you lemons, you don't cut down the tree.
I used to sell drugs in high school and made more money than the teachers. I was also poor as shit. But never got picked on because I had chest hair at 13 and was already 6ft and also had 9 brothers and sisters older.

This is what race jokes look like when you put love into the joke instead of hate.
You'll have to explain what 'hate' and 'love' is in a joke, because you can still mock someone without using swear words or being derogatory. To me he alluded to the typical stereotype of black people being violent and aggressive and not understanding what the alternative looks like in walking away or choosing 'peace', imo the joke was distasteful among other quips he made. I get that comedy is art imitating life, and subjectivism adds to the nuances of one's performance, but reaching for the age old stereotypes cos its low hanging fruit, really cements the lackadaisical efforts of this comedian.
@@NostGold hard to be mad at him when he’s speaking from personal experience and black people in the audience are agreeing with him.

Not that it’s necessarily a “good or bad” thing. I, personally in my own personal
experience and opinion believe that people of colour they feel a societally “engraved” pressure to always have their kids looking like they’re not struggling, I was raised by a single brown mother, and I would be considered spoiled because I would always have the newest gadgets newest technology newest shoes or iPod or iPhone. But I always knew how the food bank like felt and I knew we were living even below “paycheque to paycheque” but strong resilient independent brown moms’s would never let you feel that way. Only after hitting like 18 Highschool age did it set in. Soo Cody is such an gr8standup comedian because he speaks from a place of realism, his example of the way that this kid JaMarcus always had the new shoes and was always confident about them. In direct; even almost opposite situations where Cody as a young “trailer trash” type of young person, (to be extremely crass and simplistic!! He’s obvs has a lot more depth to his knowledge) was going to school in the telltale white non brand name clothes for more than one day in a row or during the week having to use the same clothes
Growing up my native Canadian indigenous mother single mother always always always made sure that I wasn’t acting like some type of silver spoon rich kid to the other children I went to school with. She would often offer rides home to the children in my school who didn’t have enough money that day for the bus ride home, at the time surely I was obviously embarrassed but looking back now I’m so glad that she instilled this deep responsibility of empathy. respect; and the ability to not be an elitist. One thing that sticks out that she told me is that “nobody is better than somebody else”, you could be a successful banker wall Street downtown big city office and all that. but if a homeless person/someone down on their luck. Asked you for money on the street or even just a simple handshake and awknowledgement and you denied them that basic human decency then you’re not rich at all. Your poor in the only thing that matters. Being human decency, respect, empathy; and kindness
U cannot take your money to the grave with yoy
@Auntie Nunya I mean tbh being a poor black Southerner we were on welfare, but we didn't spend our cash that way. Im from the city so i wasnt farming and shit, but while I wasn't sent to school looking any kinda way, we also didn't blow cash on KFC or Popeye's (side note: I'm actually from Louisiana and Popeye's kinda sucks) nor cancer sticks. Sometimes people just have shitty life situations and there's nothing wrong with needing help, it doesn't mean people on it are lazy or stupid or bad with money, or vice versa for the people who aren't. There's a balance between appearances and blowing cash sure but we aren't all just completely ignorant to that fact. Just commenting to say don't assume all of us are like the people on your street.
@Auntie Nunya simply stating, all poor black families are not what you are describing. Stop the negative stereotyping, while trying to use your family as an example saying that all poor white people apparently flourish from being poor, which is not true. Many black people have success beyond poverty. Just because you don't know any of us, doesn't mean we don't exist.

He must have grew up in Kansas City
Jokes about race hit different when they're not racist.
Edit: Watched it again. Still funny, still NOT RACIST!!
Absolutely. Some people try to make it out to be racist cause they want to be some sort of hero unfortunately. But it's always nice to see that the majority of people can see through that stuff. Thanks for watching and I have more on my channel.
Lol I’m sure people are out here saying this is racist still.
True
@Pandaland man I had no idea about this theory. If it’s true it’s kind of ridiculous cause Chappelle’s mom is a phd in African American History. I’m friends with his family but only met Dave once.
@Pandaland man just goes to show that the self righteous are always full of shit. The more militant the more full of shit a lot of the time. Anywhere I can read up on that?
I can SO RELATE!! (Giggling out loud!!) Very funny.
This was legit funny ass hell! Had me rolling! 😂😂😂😂Great job!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The moment you realize you were a fat kid when your shoes used to be sideways 😂 I always wondered why only my shoes looked like that
😂😂😂
Hilarious
😂😂😂
Damn.
Or maybe we just step strangely... I’m thin and have always been thin and my shoes are still sideways. Nowadays specially heels. So weird! 😅
My grandmother used to always say..."being poor don't mean you have to be dirty and nasty!" Being poor doesn't make you undesirable...being nasty and dirty and devoid of ethics and values...given over ONLY to carnal desires is what makes you undesirable. Huge difference that we have lost sight of.
here here
Amen!
True but who is thinking like that from 7th year/6th grade through year 11/10th grade??
@@celeste1737 Kids think the things parents teach them...and of the things friends and Television and music teaches them. Parents have given their children over to entertainers and tik tok.
@@theodorerobert6579 seriously hey 😂I was still laughing while reading comments. Then all of a sudden at his/her comment I stopped. Like why bro.
Yea this is too Good! Facts
Great set, I’m in tears 😂
He definitely went to a all black school for real this cannot be just a joke.
many of them. Thanks for watching. sub to my channel for more.
@@codyjwoods I will brah.. your act is hilarious!
This guy is funny. It takes a lot for white comedians to actually make me laugh and bring racial jokes without seeming offensive. You can actually tell he’s grown up around black folks.
Thanks for watching. If you want more I have my channel here with tons of clips //ua-cam.com/video/lnGiGUTMDHY/v-deo.html
Owen Benjamin been doing it for decades
@@SomethinAintRightHere about a decade actually. Owen was a piano guy frat guy act before turning over a new leaf.
Fun story since you’re a Bear, first met Owen with Jimmy Fallon. They were like besties. Oh have times changed.
Maybe you're offended too easily. relax
Derrick G Why do you care what this person finds funny, that’s none of your business
Okay, his whole set is solid gold! This shit was hilarious and relatable! 🤣🤣 Whether you experienced it or witnessed someone being called out in class, either way it's true shit.
“They only accept ONE and I’m taking it!” I hollered!! 🤣😂🤣😃🤣

So damn relatable.. love it.
I literally was rolling the whole entire time
"The Jordan sign isn't even dunking anymore, he's taking a charge...".......lol.

@@mitchmcgatlin7547 damn bro. Thank you!
You must be old or not black at all. In 2020 no young Black person is saying "ghetto fabulous" 😂😂😂
@Samm Hammer EXACTLY. Sounds like something a White Stylist would say in 2003
Love it!! Dude hilarious and speaking facts
Great stand up. You are truly hilarious. Thank you for posting this video.
"They only accept one, I'm taking it." Most underrated joke in this skit! Mad love, it's very hard for white comedians to tell racial crossover jokes and he nailed it. I'll look forward to his Netflix special someday soon.
Thanks man. That's what I love to hear. More to come on my channel: ua-cam.com/video/lnGiGUTMDHY/v-deo.html
I agree with this, right up to the Netflix part, only because I believe he's definitely better than Netflix's woke posturing. They'll always find some way to sanitize speech and jokes that they don't like. However, I also understand if Cody takes a Netflix deal as a means of gaining more exposure and increasing his level of success. I just say best of luck and keep up the great work.
Me too! He did that ❤️
It's not very hard
