I don’t how much to pay for the intake. But you can make those with PCV tube with glove and a heat gun can shape the pcv tube. I only pay top money for filters and carbon fiber seal for filters. You can make and shape some tube with scoops they look bad ass. People ask or stop to look those dual scoop inside my grill. Getting mine tommorow and just want to say thank you for a REAL install video! Not just a bunch of cuts and "kinda" explaining. Very clear, great shots, and shows that its not just a piece of cake and what to expect. My only question, it kinda seems that the hose to the blow off valves didnt need to be removed at the valve? Is that neccesary to complete the install or can it stay on?
Fantastic video tutorial man. Followed it step by step. Better than trying to follow the instruction manual. Made it a lot easier to understand what screws needed to be loosened and what parts needed removing. Cheers!
About to do this install and wondered if anyone thought of putting small vacuum hoses (10MM & 12MM) on to driver side intake tube FIRST versus onto/into engine, so when as seen in video, Q&D said it was a real bear/struggle to try to get all 4 at same time sync'd. Wondering if anyone saw this or thought about that? Seems like this would allow easier manipulation into slot/spot and then you're just manipulating the smaller hoses into engine spot and not trying to wedge/turn/force those little hoses and rest collectively or all at once as it appeared. Again, just wondering if anyone tried that and had success. Q&D did get it on and tightened but trying to shave a few grunts and groans and aggravation. LOL. Great job, look and sound. Can't wait to report back on our success.
We tried what I just mentioned and ultimately answer was follow Q&D method...it worked out great and as his did. Side note, the 10MM hose didn't seem to seed well on the intake so we added a universal hose clamp just for grins. Everything else was perfect. Thanks again for those commenting and especially to Q&D
Great video, I'm planning on picking up the same ones for mine, I swapped out my rims on mine after two weeks of owning it to a set that was 9.4 lb lighter than stock per wheel. THAT made a huge difference. It throws you in your seat way more. Also you should vent the BOV's to atmosphere you get more sound and plug the intake bungs with rubber bar stool legs, found at home Depot. ;)
@@QuickandDirty yes for sure it was night and day difference, you should also look into installing a ADD1 oil catch can. The amount of water and nasty oil vapor it catches is insane. And to think that stuff gets pushed through the the intercooler and intake plenums. It produces one coffee Togo full of oil water vapor every 3-4 days. I did it cuz I want to keep mine running as clean as possible.

Nice stuff! I'm looking to get myself the ngm intakes sometime in spring. For the battery unplug there should be a terminal in the engine bay if I'm not mistaken. That should make it easier to disconnect when needed especially if you have stuff in the trunk.
Owning a Stinger GT Limited I can tell you that this "cold" air intake will definitely not siphon cold air under that hood, with those two turbos just underneath it and the heat soaking that happens since the air vents are fake on the hood.
@@QuickandDirty Freeze frame @19:50. You can see that most of the air will be aspirated from around the new filters, inside the engine bay. Whereas the OEM filters are inside a box with ducts coming from the front of the car to channel real cold air to them. Granted the new intakes look cool though.
It's always a good idea when working on a vehicle imo. Not sure if it resets the ECU so it can learn the new air intake or not, just seems like a good idea all around.
You're going to love it. Makes the car sound so good and you can hear the turbos so much better. You should get the filter covers too that I linked in the description. Makes them look so much better (and provides a pre-filter to keep them cleaner longer). Good luck and enjoy!
Not really, I think you'd need to get a tune at least to notice anything. I bet it would be really noticeable if you had an aftermarket exhaust and downpipe. But let me tell you, the sound and look alone are worth the mod in my opinion.
I wouldn't say it's a significant difference, definitely feels like better throttle response, but being able to hear the turbos spool up and the blow off valves is worth everything.
Hey I need some help. You show those pipes you are putting back on to blow off valve that doesn't come with kit. Where didnt get them? Can you please let me know where to get those. @11:10 seconds those two hoses. Are stock or you bought them? I have 2020 the driver side looks like there are only two connections
Hey thanks for the great video! Can you really hear the difference? I noticed in your video you can hear the blow off valve and it's more noticeable. I didn't know if that's a different mod you had or from the intake install alone.
Everyone pans these as being “hot air” intakes but honestly the stock air boxes still ram outside air when driving... maybe idling for a while there’s a point but the benefits of these outweigh that... don’t be fooled they make a diff...
Nice step-by-step for the day that I get my Stinger... BTW, if you ever lose your car or it's stolen, they won't need a VIN to identify it, they can just use your DNA with as much skin and blood you left on that engine, lol :-) .
Can use a heat gun for hoses this way you will connect and this connects hoses with no problem.
Great tip!

I love that you kept the grunts in the video, lets you know shitz got realz under the hood....
I have used a flat head and just placed it in between the hose and valves and just wiggled carefully. Helps a ton!

I'm worried about heatsoak... climate here around 115° so I went with K&N simple dropin filters

Yea still loving mine too!
Best injen install video thus far bro
You put a free flowing intake on and then covered it with a bag that has a large logo on it? Just seems counter productive doesn’t it?
No. It is called a pre-filter and it is specifically designed to extend the life of the cone and repel water.
So this is a Hot Air Intake? My engine bay gets really hot but the filters stay nice and cool with the factory boxes.
It's a short ram intake.

I think it's a good idea to disconnect the battery whenever you do anything with your car.

Negligible. The stock intakes have vents by the radiator that force fresh cool air into the intake area.

any reason for Injen over K&N? just curious
Performance wise, no. I just liked how the Injen looked if I'm being honest.

mine came with a heatshield, how come yours doesn't have it?

Being no enclosure on these, do you worry about driving with these during the rain and water getting to the cones?
Not at all. Plus I added the water repellant prefilter covers on there, but mainly did that for looks.

Ohhh yea. They sound amazing now.
Not a big fan of intakes that don't have any barrier to separate the intake from the engine compartment.

Quick and Dirty did you have to get a tuner or anything to adjust the air: fuel?
That looks so good. Im getting a injen for 2020 optima ex turbo but they dont have the textured red for mine that i have found.
Is that standard to have the speedometer on the windshield?
It's part of the GT trim. Factory.
Where do you buy the intake
Wait why is the liftgate not closing under power? And did you get that resolved at some point to be working again?
When you remove the power to the car with the list gate open you have to manually release it. Once closed it will work again.

You didn’t have to tune to install these just kept it stock?
The ECU adjusts. Tune isn't needed if all you're installing is intakes.

Do you need to tune after installing?
Not if you're only installing intakes. Reset the ECU and it'll learn the new flow.

It's fine with no tune. The ECU will learn it.
