YOU WILL LOVE THEM. So easy to grow and harvest. EASY to sell. Weeds will not bother them. Harvest when they first show color. They will last 8 to 10 days. ENJOY
@@iamorganicgardening thank you but I'm still confused, don't the seeds dry and last basically forever? I'm growing some myself and have been eating them for a couple weeks now straight off the plant, I planned on harvesting them but I didn't know they would go bad so quickly
We enjoyed going to our first U pick sunflower farm this year. They had 2 big paddocks and heaps of visitors. We cut our own flowers. They had secateurs to buy if you’d forgotten your own. $2 a stem ( Australian).
my neighbors grew sunflowers last year and all the birds steal the seeds and come munch them down in my trees. WELL this year i am a proud grower of 50 volunteer sunflowers! instead of grass i have wildflowers and a mixture of sunflowers growing... the soil is so trash here im almost hoping to use the tap roots as soil busters.... im sure yours will look amazing!
@@farmerdre1 yessir, gonna be a tough one but I'll slowly but surely get r done!! Im gonna need just about any/every organic material I can get my hands on! Working with this volcanic/hydrophobic sand like soil will be the death of me someday.
Good luck! If you like the results, will you save seeds for another planting? I had good success growing Velvet Queen sunflowers purchased from Ferry-Morse but I had more yellow heads than orange (Velvet Queen). I did save the seeds from a Velvet Queen head for my next planting.
What spray do you use and is it safe for bees I'm going to be starting a farm soon and I'm doing research and I want to have bee hives as well so I want to keep them healthy. Thanks

What are your plans to water the sunflowers, especially the newly planted seeds that typically prefer alot of water at the beginning for germination?
Overhead irrigation
are they heavy feeders? SUNFLOWER Maze?
Yes, sunflower maze
Thank you for sharing! How did you irrigate?

Where did you buy your seed? I also would like to know where you buy your strawberry starts.
We buy the seeds from Nixa seeds, strawberries come from McNitt growers
I'm excited to see how they grow! How much will you sell them for?
I planted sunflowers beside my corn and they attracted birds and destroyed my corn I hope it does not happen to you apples
Wow, I hope that don't happen
Let me guess. You never planted sunflowers before?
wont need yo worry about weeds, the sunflowers will snuff them out
