Is this a movie yet? This has got to be a movie already. People want to invent a story when stuff like this exists. This is amazing.
There is an episode on Medal of Honor dedicated to him
Absolutely! This and one about SFC Roy Benevides .
Especially with bro’s background

Everyone is just rehashing old IPs nowadays.

Carter was born in Los Angeles, California on May 26, 1916.
He was the son of missionaries Edward Sr. and Mary Carter.
Carter was fluent in English, Hindi, German, and Mandarin.
He was a Buffalo Soldier.
He was discharged from the military unceremoniously, but was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor in 1997.
His body was exhumed and reinterred in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
He was awarded other medals during his service, including the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was an anti-fascist who faced discrimination during World War II.
His heroics in Germany in 1945 were downplayed for years.
He was inspired by his family's work and his achievements continue to give hope to those who face injustice and discrimination.
I don’t think I’ve ever been this mad. What a disgrace.
May he rest in peace

You know it’s a good day when your history teacher pulls out one of these videos
bro i wish my teacher would use these videos

Leo Major: "Am I a joke to you eh?"
“INTO THE FIRE THROUGH TRENCHES AND MUD!”

@@tedhubertcrusio372Leo Major was Québécois, so you’ve gotta drop the “eh” and start with a long drag from a cigarette and finish with a pull from a bottle of whiskey. But otherwise, yes.
Look buddy he isn't a FAT PANDA!!
Once again you guys deserve a medal for teaching us the lesser known heroes of the past!!
Agreed!
Thank you Simple History for making sure these heroes stories are never forgotten! Getting more history here from my high school and history channel honestly
Bro took hits like he was in a video game.
I'm so glad you made this video! I learned about him a while ago - This dude makes my proud to be the same species as him
Yes! Finally! I have been waiting for this. Simple History is (now) talking about Edward Carter Jr. the African-American WWII soldier. Thank you.
Yes, a story about the Medal of Honor recipient Edward Carter.
Carter’s remains were resettled at Arlington National Cemetery where he now rightfully rests among a Pantheon of fellow American war heroes."
I love to learn about history and i love that my husband can honor men like himself.
My husband is Zulu American/Japanese and served in the SANDF and loves to show our children
to keep the path and make a good life.
i will say one thing that my husband always says “America has some growing up to do”
"But the thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies"-Lawkeeper Equity Mlp Ace Attorney EOJ
That's why it's called betrayal
US Government was a damn disgrace. Over correcting is not the answer, but not repeating these mistakes is.
Maybe, but you should keep in mind that "the Red Menace" was a real thing; Communist-sympathizing spies _were_ being recruited and infiltrating the US military.
8:00 this is how the US treats some of its heroes😡
This country is a joke and it's a shame how it became more ugly cause of this countries choices!
Yeah they give him the medal of Honor, things have changed
yep from 1860 to 1970s due to Jim Crow laws
that's how the U.S was things changed
The overwhelming majority. The US has a very long history of mistreating veterans.
@Crazycoyote-we7ey Jim Crow laws are from the confederate party,my family live in a state that never ever had slaves and fought for Lincoln...after the war between the states they made up the Klan and Jim crow laws

Awesome work, as always.

Damn right it was criminal that he was treated like that after he fought bravely for his country.
It’s nice to see how people can change overtime
Omg, what a hero!
Great warrior 👊👊👊👊🔥🔥🔥🔥
another fire videooooo
An amazing hero!
Damn shame to get honors when you have longed passed away. I remember being taught to show honor and love to those alive to receive it. When they are no longer alive they can no longer receive it.
Like many he was denied justice because justice delayed is justice denied , it proves that sometimes even after sacrificing everything you may or may not get glory
i thought this video was old until i saw the minutes ago
The effort you put in your content is astounding. Love ur channel 👍
The man went absolutely feral on the germans.

This video serves as a poignant reminder of the cost of prejudice. Edward Carter Jr.’s story not only honors his bravery but also sheds light on the struggles faced by African-American soldiers who fought valiantly despite being marginalized at home.
Never fight for people who hate you.
When you give your country all but your country betrays you.
Lesser known fun facts when he was shot for the two hours he actually passed out from his injuries and admitted he could see his wife in a dream. And a sadder fact his wife after his death would cry and sleep as his grave after work in grief

Make a story on Jaswant Singh Rawat.

Do a Vernon Baker story
Do you think you will ever talk about the ww2 barter kit?
After everything he did, only for the country he fought for to just turn its back on him for years, all because a bunch of politicians wanted a scapegoat to satisfy their ego. Disgusting.

Undoubtedly an excellent soldier! It would be hard to determine, however, whether he was denied the honor of the CMH due to his race, or his involvement in the Lincoln Brigade. The Lincoln Brigade was primarily composed of communists. socialists, and anarchists; and were (from time to time) supplied by the Soviet Union. Many of the prominent American socialists, communists, and trade-unionists of the period were veterans of the Lincoln Brigade. In the post war years when there was legitimate concern as regards communist influence in the US it is only reasonable that his involvement would more than raise eyebrows.
Probably a bit of both. But crazy how being part of a union makes you suspect in uncle sam's eye. No wonder corporations hold so much power there
@@user-op8fg3ny3j Many unions, then and now, are very significantly far-left and socialistic in their politics and tactics. Some of their tactics are outright illegal. Take SEIU for example; as well as almost any teachers' unions. That makes them suspect in many peoples' eyes, not just Uncle Sam.
Almost certainly his race. The government conspired during the war to never award a black serviceman the Medal of Honor so even if they hadn’t known of his involvement with the ALB, he wasn’t going to get it anyway.

50 Cent?
German army using Japanese rifles ?
It was 1945, Germany was on its last legs. They
were running low on weapons and ammo so they had to use either old ww1 weapons, make cheap weapons, or use capture weapons.
Those were Carcanos, he was most likely fighting in the Italian front.
@soysauce4087 I Saw Japanese rifles in the episode
I noticed that the African American soldiers were issued with the bolt action m1917 rifle instead of the semi automatic M1 rifle, is this historically accurate?
If this is made into a film, they should not ho what they did to PVT Desmond Doss story.
What did they do?
@user-op8fg3ny3j they went from his BTC training to Okinawa skipping a big portion. There were other things.
