Hey @Brian Barczyk I totally agree and after having gone and so far done some research I have completely agree that the entire thing is disgusting all I can keep thinking every time I see an interview with one of the ex employees Is 3 things!! 1) how In the world did they even say yes to it most of them say that as soon. As they walked it it blew there mind and stunk so idk about u but I don't care what story came behind the animals he keeps blaming not having employees he could have cleaned it himself I understand it cost money for enclosures (in my opinion he shouldn't have had them if he couldn't house then properly)but morals aside it is free for him to clean it #2. Like brian k said how did u not call animal control and take pics ur self of all the shit u saw #3 and what bothered me the most some were there for over a year how dare u idc what u say how could u call ur self an animal lover and have chosen to stay there f.y.i I've left gas station job bec there breathing air was Terrible from mold I absolutely can not imagine the mold growth in that facility ❤😮 idk I'd have to be soulless to work there

U have any idea how many dogs and cats have been abused and abandoned? And you think all people will care about reptiles. I get it, u get it...most have no idea. Even these UA-camrs saying bp are easy beginner snakes...that in itself is crap. The industry moving to keeping even pets in tubs?
That poor snake is so dead, that it's fully decomposed. If this dude isn't ostracized entirely from the community and banned from keeping animals, we have all lost.

Cuz I'll tell u one thing I'd never buy anything from anyone who now moving purchases or makes any deals with Samson Pruitt or zither Inc or whatever his girl's business names are and they knowingly continue to purchase from them I'd never de a l with them again
he is so decomposed that he is just liquid. you can still see the little hole things pythons have under their jaws at the top too, I will probably never keep a snake as a pet but that shit is so sad, poor guy died in his own shit, not even being able to get out of it

I was made fun of for keeping a rat, her name was Strawberry. All of the feelings Petal is helping you with, Strawberry helped me with. It gets better. Petal will have a long, healthy, wonderful life with you.
To Brian, this is the first video I've watched from you, I tend to focus on my own animals than others', but this was handled perfectly and you've gained a new fan,
I understand. I started training dogs when I was 8, was a Jr Handler in AKC and was in the dog program in 4-H. That was in the 70s. My nickname was Fido. By the time I started middleschool, some older kids had started a rumor that my dog died and I carried her around the school for days until the made me go home because she was rotting. Um, my dog was bigger than me so I could never have able to pick her up....and wow, she was in the house Alive when I left for school!!!!
Purina paid for my college and I was in Dog World Magazine at 14 yr old. They still bullied me. I still train and show.
What is funny is I'm a retired breeder, imported European longcoat German Shepherds, I always had a 1-2yr waiting list for pups. Those same people that were mean in school now do the like/love crap on my FB Page. If they would have applied for a pup, I probably would have thrown it away. I survived because of my dog. But mean people are probably mean to their animals too.

@NewEnglandReptile rats do make good pets. They are very intelligent. My little brother had rats. I used to pet sit them. Kind of stinky but very inquisitive. He had carrier pigions, too.

Had rats as a kid too. I remember my teacher letting me bring my rat in for a report I was doing. Had her in a lil to go cage with all her fav snacks and toys. She was very well behaved at the school lol. I remember kids thought she was weird until they saw her just chilling on my shoulder and eating. Its the cute tiny hands. Gets them every time.
This letter is heartbreaking. Children are so innocent. How is it even possible that a 12 year old is suicidal? What is wrong with the world? She should be playing with her friends, joking around, get a crush on some cute boy....I'm SOOOO happy that she'll get her beloved snake. This little girl looked into the abyss and she will do better than all of us. But I know what it's like. My snakes save my life, too. I would do anything for them. They deserve the best. the pressures of school, esp middle school is overwhelming. it doesn't end at the door either, now days w/ the cyberbulling and things. And it's the big things, but more the small little nit pick things that no one notices and chip away at the heart and soul. My girl was 16 when she called the suicide hotline. A mix of undx depression, anxiety and med change threw her down a deep hole. It was a scary time and she fought her way out and is now 20, almost 21 w the bright future I had always hoped for her.
Dear Petals owner... you are loved. You are needed and you matter.
My nephew recently committed suicide and he was only 11. This world is brutal and there are some real ugly folks who only make it worse.

Personally, I became suicidal around a bit older then that but still a young teen due to the start of puberty, and the very undesirable changes happening to my mind and body, which while probably not the situation happening to the person in the video, was my reason and other trans children's reasons -- which is on of the reasons the anti-trans-care legislation is killing children (both for preventing care and promoting hate and bigotry). Not the only reason for child/teenage suicide, but is a reason. Others are abuse, bullying, not having a good social circle, biological mental health issues, etc.

Bullies are *VERY* messed up people. I was bullied brutally by gangs of kids just for being a little "different": I'm autistic, creative & was mostly a loner who kept to himself. Bullies don't need a reason to be scum. They just like to hurt others because of their own insecurities--they're cowards.

It proves the quality of your character that you aren't willing to condemn a person based on rumors or a witch hunt. It's also incredibly telling that you would come back and tell people that you learned the definitive truth. Good on you, man. We need more like you in this community.

That letter is amazing! When I get messages from parents or the new keepers themselves like that it truly makes all the noise, hate, hours spent cleaning, making videos, etc…. Worth it! 🐍💚

I feel this applies to our animals as well and I try to live my life this way always. As Lori Torrini usually says at the end of her videos "please remember to always be kind and to love your animals. 🥰

Holy crickets that letter just broke me. My ancient self can echo pretty much every sentiment for my boy Jorge (and every animal I've had the honour of having in my life) - and thank you for having the integrity to speak up even though you could have just walked on by- but that is one of the many reasons that to me you are what my Mom would have called 'good people'
Don’t beat yourself brother. Samson is a phenomenal liar and that greasy used car salesman has been spinning his crap into gold for a long time. He has pulled the wool over a ton of peoples eyes. Good for you for addressing it and hopefully this will finally be the time we can hold him accountable and he can’t worm his way out if it again.

As a human being Petal’s new owners letter touched my heart, as a father of 3, two of which are girls, it hit home on a very personal level. No child should have to feel like that. I truly hope this snake helps her cope and blossom into a happy young lady. Such a well written letter from someone so young.
Dang it! Made me cry, too. Petal is getting a good reptile mama! And yes, we CAN feel that way about reptiles. For the first year or so, of having our crested geckos, I used to tear up when looking into their little, derpy faces. They probably have no clue how much I love them, but I do. And that feeling should lead to us always trying to do better in how we care for them. Thanks for the caring and honest way you handled this issue.
Apart from the SamsonSaga...i adore you for rather talking to him instead of about him. That girl's letter touched me so much, i could have written it. My life was saved by my dogs and cats, animals are so many times better than most humans.

Glad you made this video. I totally agree with everything you said. As for bullying, no matter why the person says they are doing it, is one of the most disgusting things people can do. The letter broke my heart and made me feel good at the same time.
Brian, you have a good heart, and put out good messages. More people need to be like that. We are only here for a short time and have to share the world while we are here, help everyone enjoy it as much as possible in that short time, and if you do that, your time will be so much more loving and enjoyable. Brian, I wanted to put this comment separately from my other one. You need to know this!!!!
What you are doing with Petal is going to save that girls life. Trust me. I had a longcoat German Shepherd pup that I held back from a litter. She was the Only pup I kept for me to show, and now I'm retired. Right after I retired, my plans for that pup changed.
I Loved that little girl.
She was fully trained and at this point a young adult but a person that met her, that was going through the same things as your young person and had already attempted, needed her more than I needed her.
You would not believe the instant bond they made. She somehow Knew that she was needed. It was unbelievable to see. It was like when the cancer dogs detect cancer in a person. She wasn't obnoxious, she was loving..... she looked in his eyes, snuggled his neck, put her head on his lap.... acted like, "I have you, I'm here." There were discussions and a lot of get togethers for human training. I finally said goodbye to my dream showdog, who now has a full-time job as a certified support dog.
That pup is now a dog and just turned 5. That person has an apartment now....a job and is doing very well. I cried for because I loved that dog but I still get to see her every couple of months and she is where she was born to be. God put those paths to cross ✝️ I just had to be brave enough to listen.
Animals are so much more than pets if we let them be. You are doing an Amazing thing.

One thing I’m dumbfounded and disturbed about is how employees that work for animal control have no idea what they are looking at or for they shouldn’t even be working in that field to begin with and I can say the same for a lot of Cys employees that’s the kind of people who FWC should be after the letter the little girl wrote to her new snake was so beautiful❤️ I was crying with you Brian

Wow, awesome video Brian. I had recently watched your interview with Simpson so I’m glad you did this. And as for pedals owner, you’re not the only girl who loves snakes. There’s a lot of us are out there and someday you will find a community that accepts you for who you are. I know School can be pretty tough, but hang in there, it won’t last forever and remember you have support at home. I love the name petals by the way.

I've struggled with chronic pain my whole life. If not for my kids, my garden and my animals depending on me, I wouldn't have gotten out of bed most days.
Having a reasons outside ourself to get up and do makes it possible to forget our troubles to concentrate on other things that give us joy and meaning in committing & attending to the needs of others.

I hope that little girl has a long happy life with Petal. I'm in my young 20's and I was there too as a child. I just got my first snake, a ball python, in February. I love her to death and the desire to take care of her and handle her motivates me to get out of bed and live life. Before her I had aquariums and house plants that did the same. I don't know how I'd live happily without cultivating life around me. That little girl has a heart of gold. We should keep animals because we are fascinated by them and appreciate and love them, not for money or to show off to others. The ability of humans to appreciate and cultivate other forms of life is one of our most beautiful and redeeming qualities.
Such a heart breaking situation. Our animals deserve our best and it’s our responsibility to make sure they are protected and treated with dignity and respect and for us to teach others what beautiful creatures we have. Ended with strong and powerful letter from a young child that can teach us all a lesson in compassion and kindness, we often don’t think of children being depressed or suicidal but growing up we endure our hardest lessons. Very heartfelt words and brought tears to me listening and glad that those 2 found each other . Great video
Oh Brian... What you've helped that young lady overcome... I am so overwhelmed with emotion for that sweet girl. I was bullied all through my school years and completely understand the devastating effects that it can have. I'm so very glad that she has found a way to overcome the negative aspects of her life and I know Petal will live a long, happy life with her Soul Sister. This was truly meant to be and I'm grateful that you've shared this with us. I hope the two of them have amazing adventures together for many years to come.
Kindness and Understanding are 2 things that are often lacking in the world. I hope those bullies realize how wrong they are some day and do something to "right the wrongs" they have committed against innocent people who didn't deserve their mistreatment.

I’m glad you only showed one picture. That one picture was enough! No words can even describe the disgrace of that situation.
The little girl is right….the animals save us! And you are right. We can always do better! We lost our cat in December and one of our dogs last week. A puppy came into our lives by fluke in August and she came to save us! I gave my previous dog a good home (he was a rescue) but now I know more about dogs I know I could have done better. I strive to provide more enrichment, exercise and love to my second one. We can always improve and do better! 💜

You may think this was a negative video but it was the complete opposite. Yes the situations that the snakes were in were deplorable yet you shown how compassionate reptile owners/breeders really are. You talked about facts of Sampson not degrading anyone only he can degrade himself. Then the letter bless that child's heart. My heart goes out to her I hope she can overcome the bullying and realize that those kids opinions are only a reflection on themselves and more so their parents who allow such behaviors. You're a good man and a good pet owner and please never doubt that! The letter you read made me cry - I lost my 16-year-old dachshund 2 months ago, and on Sunday I adopted a little dog from the shelter. I know how that girl feels... We don't save them, they save us. You're a part of that chain by giving little girls like the letter writer something to live for. Please never stop being the person you are.
I appreciate that you are taking responsibility for a past video. It is always difficult to admit you are wrong but to do so just shows that you genuinely care about the subject. I watched that interview, I do not fault you for feeling the same way I did when I first saw it. You made this video once you found out what was going on, when you found out he was lying to you. You were manipulated. It happens to the best of people. You were still a good person, speaking up has now made you an excellent person.

Your heart and love for snakes and people, and just in general, is so incredibly admirable. I can't tell you how comforted I feel to know that there are people like you out there. Seriously. There's so much about this video particularly that hit home for me. From myself once being the girl bullied for my pet snakes and gothic look, to now having a 12 year old daughter experiencing terrible treatment and all sorts of toxic situations at school, who finds her happiness in our 8 beautiful, healthy, amazing royal pythons. I really appreciate your honesty and accountability on these matters. That’s the most important thing. And as someone who was a suicidal depressed young girl who was saved by my animals and the love I have for them I know how much petal will mean to her. Ipetal will be going to an amazing home and be very loved. The leopard gecko I had as a teenager I had until my late 20s , I had her hidden in my university accommodation for 3 years and have her tattooed on my leg. I’m sure petal will be that snake for this young girl. Children are awfully cruel things a lot of the time.

That's was a very awsome letter you wrote it choked me up as well. These animals in a since has saved my life as well. After I defeated addiction I was alone no friends and my life was boring and falling further into depression. Then my oldest daughter introduced egg cutting videos to me. It was over from there. I had a new hobby and I found love again. These things have done so much for me. They gave me a companion. They gave me a purpose. They gave me someone to talk to i don't feel lonely no more and knowing that these things depend on me really gave me a new look at life. Ty for sharing that letter. I really wish there was a way to get stories like the one in your letter out there as well as mine. Keep doing what your doing dude. If it's not you inspiring some one I'm sure your hatchlings will.

That letter made me cry, I wasn't expecting it at all, I figured it would be a younger kid fan letter sort of thing. Absolute gut punch, I've known so many just like her. I know she will get so much joy from Petal and that even on days when she can't feel that joy as strongly that she will still be an incredible keeper.
