    Dropping a comment in as an owner of the mk3 focus rs since it was delivered in 2016.
    It's now 2023 and the car has been a dream to drive, it's the only car that can put your back out of place and back in again within a 10 mile journey and smiling while it does it!
    Only 26k miles in that time and has never missed a beat.
    Though theres a ton of mods out there i've never really felt the need go faster so it's basically standard (with exeption to the gear stick and lower engine mount bushings feeling wobbly)
    I'm still keeping an eye out for the next RS model, as of now theres no news but likely it we be electric or hybrid.

    I'm so excited Ford is producing this new Focus RS for the US markets. This car will hopefully guide the industry towards following the rally trend and strive to make better and more aggressive hot hatches/ rally inspired vehicles. Thank you Ford! (Thumbs up if you agree)! Ford Europe *****

    Are the dampers passive or adjustable? I had a previous generation RS in 2009 and although I loved it, could only keep it a year though as the ride quality was appalling. Spoilt it for me. Love that this car is 4WD and five door. Very tempting......

    Great presentation or Global reveal for the new Ford Focus RS. Heritage is important in cars, I would say Ford has a bigger presence as well as success in motorsports within Europe over the U.S.A. Most of the cars presented in this video didn't make it to the states, right? That new AWD Focus RS is something special

    This will be right around $36k. You guys keep dreamin'... thinkin' that it'll only be $29-30k. The top focus ST goes for $30k.
    I got my new 2014 Focus ST for 4k off retail for 22k. The RS, will be selling at sticker, for sure...:-( I'll save 14k and
    keep my ST, thank you...:-) Not knocking the RS , but 14k is a lot of cash.

    The motor features a new *low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger with a larger compressor* than the one in the Mustang EcoBoost, and the Focus' engine is accompanied by a much larger intercooler system. Along with a less restrictive intake design and large-bore exhaust system with a noise-controlling butterfly valve, the engine essentially flows a lot more air than the motor in the Mustang, boosting horsepower over the Mustang's unit.

    Had a couple questions that weren't answered that I thought would be answered. 1. How much? 2. Because it's manufactured overseas does that mean maintenance costs will be higher?( kind of like owning a BMW, VW, Mercedes Benz). And when is it going to be released to the US? late 2015 or early to mid 2016?

    • @elkina20

      *****
      I'm guessing more than that. I was looking on Cars.com and an ST can run $38K (MSRP). I fear the RS will be well in the mid to high $40Ks...

    • @tattude1974
      @tattude1974 10 років тому

      BB2009LZ 2015 Focus ST fully loaded is only 30k but most are 28k. The RS will start around 37k

    • @jameshawkins809
      @jameshawkins809 10 років тому

      BB2009LZ You read wrong. Focus ST is no where near that high. The Golf R comes out this summer, same set up, AWD manual transmission and starts at $36K. This will be around that same price I am sure. The harped on affordable too much. They will try and undercut the competition.

    You forgot the Mercury Capri RS TURBO.

  • @MasterCarguy44-pk2dq
    @MasterCarguy44-pk2dq 9 років тому +4

    Oh, and folks, turbo charging does NOT improve has mileage. It actually reduces mpg's, especially if your into the boost even mildly. Sad times these are indeed. And we continue to penalize CA for pollution that 85% comes from China, yes China.

    • @ADReed24
      @ADReed24 9 років тому +1

      Try getting similar power from a naturally aspirated engine of the same displacement. Turbocharging lets you get more power from a smaller engine, and as long as you're not aggressive on the throttle and constantly at higher rpm's the mileage benefits of driving smartly are greater than in a naturally aspirated car making similar power. The benefit is the fact that you can downsize the engine but get similar power so that it's there when you want it but uses less gas for regular driving. This idea has been around forever and is not unique to Ford by any means, EcoBoost is just a fancy marketing scheme.
      And let me add by saying that yes, if you take two otherwise identical engines and turbocharge one of them, the turbo car efficiency will suffer.

      Yes you are so true as an apprentice, Technology is advancing super quick soon we will be looking at hydrogen engines as your everyday road car. New cars even if there new are already outdated because someone somewhere will have gone what if we can make that better and make that better and there you go next generation forms.

    • @lewis72
      @lewis72 10 років тому

      9598rambo
      I am not an apprentice and I am not convinced that cars are that much better than there were 10+ years ago...
      They're getting bigger, heavier and are full of interferring gadgets that you can't switch off. Road noise and ride quality seem to suffer just so a car can be sold on 19" wheels.

    • @9598rambo
      @9598rambo 10 років тому

      Lewis72 Actually you see you're wrong, because engines are now made much more efficiently with less drive and power being wasted which means we have room for including luxury heated seats and steering wheels etc etc and big cars now days do higher mpg than old little cars because of stricter emissions rules.

    • @lewis72
      @lewis72 10 років тому

      9598rambo
      Roads & car parks aren't getting any bigger. Have you tried to park a new (L405) Range Rover in a UK multi story car park recently?
      Ride quality HAS taken a nose-dive since the fashion-conscious decided that 19" wheels look cooler than 16" wheels and then there's the bizarre fixation with quoting Nurnbergring times.
      I'm guessing that you don't know much about hydrogen engines to think that they'll be arriving soon.

    • @9598rambo
      @9598rambo 10 років тому

      Lewis72 You know there is a lot of money in petrol/diesel so any ideas of hydrogen engines will practically cut a lot of business from oil companies so they are paying companies to hold back just Google hydrogen internal combustion engines they know how to make them have done for many years so why have we not made them well now you know why, all the world revolves around is money and big wheels have plenty of advantages and disadvantages like everything...and have you driven a range rover or any SUV with big alloy wheels they drive smooth as a nut ride comfort really is not affected also to say all manufactures focus on Nurbergring times is false I think you're watching to much top gear if i am honest and im guessing you are one of those people who looks at someone with a big 4x4 and gets really angry look at that big car its polluting the world actually no old cars which are less efficient don't recycle waste gasses from the engine don't recycle unused fuel don't have EFI don't have a high programmed ECU they are the polluters.
      Enough said, face it I know more than you so stick to your day job I shan't be answering your reply good day.
