this is for my personal use don't like it.
besides seeing how you were able to get this sound its really cool to see and compare other peoples mixing styles workflow and mindset while working to my own :D
Hell yeah! My mixing technique is super heavy on group and parallel processing, especially for this track :)
As someone who is still in the very early stages of playing around with Ableton, this might be the most immediately influential video I have ever seen. Great stuff.
Heck yeah that's so amazing to hear :)
i've been writing songs for so long and just now got into production, these videos are genuine lifesavers. i was feeling completely stuck before and things are finally starting to make sense :) thank you so much !!
I love you channel man, as somebody who barely knows about audio engineering and only stick to music production (without messing either mixing to much since I need to learn to) and my respectable instruments, it’s so cool to see you break this stuff down. I found your channel with the first phoebe video and now I’m addicted.
Yayyy!! Glad you enjoy, and hey maybe its time to give mixing a swing :) having the production knowledge behind writing makes you unstoppable man, you don't need another to finish your tracks for you (although sometimes that DOES help to get a second mind on the project)
@@AudioHaze thanks! It’s cool to see a creator that interacts with their fans like you do!
your channel is absolutely amazing, thank you for your hardwork and for making these tips accessible to everyone (and always factoring in prices too)
Thanks for the hard work! love your channel!
it's reassuring knowing that we use similar mixing techniques and plugins. thanks for putting this together!
Eyyyyy you got good mixing taste then :)))
very good tutorial...thanks for the work you're putting in to this channel
This is fab! Top tier content as always, thanks so much 🙌❤🎶
Glad I could help!!
This was brilliantly informative, I could easily have watched hours of deep crunchy talk. Great work can't wait to see where you go next!
Man!! You're content is so expertly crafted! These videos and the work you put into them are seriously inspiring. Keep it up!
Thanks so much man! I'll definitely keep them coming :)
Always a pleasure to see how others are gluing their ideas together! Appreciate you!
Appreciate you as well! Thanks for taking the time to check out the vid :)
Great video! It was really informative and I appreciate it.
sick videos man, subscribed for sure
That VMR vocal chain was absolutely immaculate, and the singing too... amaizng
Super cool to see this having used the tracks you made available to mix this myself. Being able to directly compare approaches and learn new things is amazingly helpful. Thank you sooooo so much for making the tracks available. I was a little jealous seeing your mono guitar tracks as the distributed ones were stereo and seemed to contain some of panning decisions. Your point about automation is a good one. I try and do all my volume automation with gain on Ableton utility rather than the track volume so that if I later want to tweak the overall volume of the track I don't have to mess with the automation. Can't wait for the next one and hope you will continue to make the tracks available!
Yeah the utility hack is a great option! I usually just have the group channel control volume automation and often leave the individual tracks in the group untouched and can control automation in that way, but the utility is probably a better option for a lot of reasons. And yes the tracks were already placed in stereo! Was just trying to make it a little easier for beginners to jump in and get started :) thanks for watching my friend!
this was so helpful and cool, thank you!
3:26 Facts, mate! Serato Sample is probably one of the best isolation/remixing/studying plugins I've tried, definitely going to buy it. (same as Deccoda and online isolators)
Music is intrinsically linked to technology, and reflects the culture and time it came from. The greatest artists specifically choose what tech they use for their music. (E.g. Mac Demarco using old school gear).
Yes one of my favorite channels!! :D Great to see you again :D
Thanks for checking out the vid!
Thanks a lot! This was really cool and educational.
Hell yeah been waiting for this one
HELL YEAH, hope it was helpful!
this is amazing thank you so much for these videos they're great
Thanks for checking them out!
@@AudioHaze you're doing great work!!!
thanks so much for this!!
You’re the man! Thx bruh!!
Amazing video! I love this channel
Sweet that’s amazing to hear!
respect for putting the raw vocal
Perfect timing for my lunch break 😎
NICE
New subscriber here, so glad I found your channel it's really excellent.
Glad you like it my friend! Welcome to the community and glad to have you on board :)
Great video
You are so amazing.
you are such an amazing teacher! I wish I could be you! my hero!!!
ur my hero bb
Thanks for the video! I learned a lot from it
Glad to hear it!
Oh I’m so excited for this one
Just a little peek into the DAW nothing special :)
AMAZINGGGGG
I had to laugh about the line against FL Studio. I love that DAW ! Excelent video as always !
Hahahaha not my cup of tea!! But then again neither is Pro Tools and I use that so
Amazing!
Thank you!
The indie gurls are living today! Subscribed
Thank you so much!
Thanks for checking it out!
Wow, 130k views for how to record, and 12k for how to mix.
I'm not sure what that says but it's wild.
Great video as always, keep it up.
legend
I'm learning so much! I'm repeating myself I know, but it's good for the algorithm I guess. :D
Well done and very interesting, thx! There is just one thing I miss in your version.
For me, that's the crucial difference to the original: in the instrumental parts there's this creepy but happy kind of ghost melody that gives the song its special character, especially in contrast to the lyrics. I assume the melody comes from the rhythmic destruction of the guitar tracks by Lossy. But I haven't had a closer look into Lossy yet. Do you know what I mean?
please do one of these on dangelo, russel elevado makes the fattest loudest mixes of real instruments that still sound amazing and clean and I just can't seem to replicate it myself
You leave my FL studio alone 🫵🏾😂
ableton already has a graveyard without having to save the tracks this way. The only reason to keep it this way is if you want to save your plug ins if you right click on a track it will have the option show takes where u have all the takes for that track.
My new favorite channel!! Opinion on garage band mixes? And big artists like joji and steve lacy who (still?) exclusively use garageband?
Thanks dude!! And I had no idea Joji used garage band!! Honestly if you're working with primarily recorded sound, and you're cool with extremely limited post production options, its fine. That said, you really have to make sure your incoming signals are top notch and need very little work. Personally I would say the 200-300 dollar jump to logic would make sense for most people.
@@AudioHazeHe definitely did going into his joji persona; I’m pretty sure all his pink guy stuff, pink album, and chloe burbank era music was garage band and you can find interviews from back then where he says that
Yum
YESSSS
6:23 Do it! I'll watch it
maybe one day :)
Yeeeeeees
Yo, this is awesome, just like the Radiohead one, showing how they did it.
Glad we could help out my friend :)
I'm gonna need a conan gray version
you are still a much better singer than i am
You should really look into something like 6 feet beneath the moon by king krule. That album sounds so good
I'll check it out!
Did you have to curve slides on the sides on the babolot? Mine doesn't fit that well. Thx!
It depends on the guitar! Sorry I should've mentioned that in the first video, if it doesn't fit your guitar, try making a very small slit in the low E and high E slots, should fit a little better like that
you're the reason I've got a Babolat in the mail. What's this video gonna get me into? 😅
Hahahaha this one will maybe get you into Lossy?
haha I have one coming friday
😎
What is the ai tool that you use to separate to allow you to analyse the track yourself?
Hello, I'm going to do rap vocals, which microphone would you recommend? I'm stuck between NT1 and LCT Akg. Do you think NT1 is good? thanks
You should really give reaper a try. Not that I think you’re doing bad in ableton, reaper just has a lot of really cool features that go a bit deeper, and I’d be really interested in how you would use them
the graveyard is such a good idea
If your computer can handle it!
How did you get rid of the breath sounds from the guitar? 🙂
I always thought that Punisher was a bit over produced compared to Stranger in the Alps
before i watched your videos my mixing mad the take sound worse now they sound at least a little bit beter
Big vid
For sure....one may say too big....
@@AudioHaze I believe the many would describe it as XXXL
What's the spelling on the AI you use to hear the source? Lao Lao AI!?
lol yeah, LALAL.ai
@@AudioHaze Awesome! Thank you so much. Your videos are amazing - As a musician I know this is sooooooo much hard work!!!
What kind of AI dit you use :)?
Hey! I would def would love to learn about how you use AI. Thank you for this!
i wish you used logic pro
I may actually download Logic and learn a bit, just to get more fluency in the three big DAWs
Who else tried to buy one of the tennis parts from iplayatlanta after the last video only to find out they sold out too 😔
I think they might be back in stock on Amazon last time I checked?
@@AudioHaze YOOO!! Thank you!! Another W for this channel
Just bought one on Amazon, they are back in stock!
first(?).
Indeed :)
Slurps coffee....Nope. Goodbye,
Is my music good?
Who the hell is Phoebe Bridges? 🤷🏻♂️
A wonderful songwriter! You should check her out if you're into the indy scene at all. To me she's sort of the next generation of bands like Bright Eyes or Margot and the Nuclear So and So's
@@AudioHaze ok cool. I’ll check her out :)
Ableton is sooooo trash
Hahahaha did I get ya with the FL Studio comment? Honestly there's a lot about live 11 I don't love when it comes to using it on the M1, its so unstable, and it used to be way more stable in 10 and on an intel machine :(
@@AudioHaze it's REAPER gang over here buddy 👻 😈. And I do run fl studio through tracks in reaper basically it's a rack plugin that puts the whole FL DAW on a track in reaper. Ableton is very unstable sir. U might as well come into the light and DL reaper. It's free (well the trial lasts forever and you can buy a license when you want too) and you can change the theme to look like Ableton.... 🤔. Everything is so customizable it's perfect for an audio nerd like you. And very intuitive in my opinion you can drag and drop files into the Daw. You can double click on any piece of media and place any fx on it . The bussing and routing options are TOP NOTCH . any vsts you have on computer will automatically show up in your fx list and of course you can compose inside of it . The stock sampler is perfect in my opinion ... free updates , and it's not gonna crash!
