@tjcampbell4612 well that's confusing, I've sat through 30 minute videos before just to help complete quests in games, but the more content the easier things are to follow. 7 minutes for a game review is actually small, but this reviewer actually crammed in a lot of detail and information without it being overbearing. Just my opinion obviously.
I am 46 years of age and this is the first time i have ever seen a proper honest review. Wholly sht i think the world is coming to an end. If i had a dollar for every review i watch and then buy the game and realised i been suckered and the game is sht. I would be a millionaire. Thx for the review dude, i have take then game off my whish list. P.S love the "YEAH NA" ROFL.
This game is EXTREMELY shallow. The time-skip harvesting/crafting menus are absolutely HORRIBLE for the game immersion. The wildlife is quite possibly the most annoying game-design ever created in a survival game. There are so many little cool things that make you feel good the first 2-3 days you play, but it quickly becomes apparent how thin this game is.
I would have to disagree with just about everything you said. Game reviews should not rely mostly on if you like playing the game. That's not considered a fair judgment. There should be standard metrics that are used to judge a game compared to other games of the same genre and style. So let's take some other games and compare things like graphics. Optimization. Content. Mechanics. Immersion. You mention that the time table the game uses breaks Immersion. I have to disagree. It actually increases it. This system is far more immersed than other games where you build in real time and it take only the time of a couple clicks of your mouse. 3 to 4 swings of an axe and boom you have a tree cut down into usable pieces. That don't sound very real. And the animation in most other games is horrible at best where that same axe isn't even hitting the tree its supposed to be cutting down. And then in some reality defying means. Spontaneously breaks into smaller logs. All in the time it takes you to click the mouse button a few times. This is what you call more Immersion. I would rather imagine or let my common sense fill in the animation of chopping a tree down, then chopping that downed tree into logs and be shown that that it took 2 hours of my day to do this than see all that poor animation and do it in a matter of seconds. The graphic are really good in this game. Lighting is great. If you get caught without a torch. The dark areas in the game are real life dark. Physics are great in the game. Things have weight and roll or rag doll as expected on inclines. There is fall damage. Aspects of sickness aspects of injury do to low light. There are plenty of jump scare moments in the game. The game runs extremely well even on my mid tier system 60fps on highest settings 95 % of the time only dropping into the 50s from time to time. The water and underwater graphics are top notch. Boat physics are spot on. Now with all that said is the game perfect. No. Like you said more organic spawns would be much better. And there are thing like upgraded tools and weapons not seeming to be upgraded enough to be worth what it takes to make them. More crafting and building aspects would be a welcome. But for a more life like experience survival game this is top notch compared to others on the market
Thanks for the well considered reply. I read it all, I don't necessarily disagree with most of what you said however this review is about what the game felt like for me. Is it based around metrics? Of course not, but I do mention key components that are important. The game felt like a "walk in the park with my grandmother" and I stick with that, it wasn't bad, not bad at all, but it isn't something I want to do that much of, for the reasons I outlined. That's all. Appreciate your thoughts and hope you are doing well.
So there are metrics for art or cuisine that you can apply? Same with games. You can like games that are crap or you can dislike games that have the best reviews^^
Hey there man, no, put simply it reminds me too much of ARK, which I love but don't want to paly anymore as it is too time consuming and also I've never really wanted to play with cute Pokémon things, just not me really. I'm waiting for Nightingale at the moment.
I played 20 minutes on this game on the ps5 and I thought it was awful... the movement was clunky, the combat was very poor... if I could I'd ask for a refund.
You described how I feel about Subnautica, which I never finished. Cumberson grinding. Thanks for the heads-up. I like your presentation style, subscribed.
I had to go forward for 1:36 of a 7 min video just to start hearing about the actual game ..... that us too much fluff
@@tjcampbell4612 I prefer to call it artistic design. Ha. But I do hear you and noted.
It’s a 7 min video if u can’t watch that all the way thru survival games probs ain’t for u
@@mattymojoif he can’t sit for 7 minutes then that’s not your fault, peoples attention span are fried

1.0 just dropped, they fixed a lot of the loop issues and actually put in a lot of quality of life updates. Think the long dark

This game is great, I think you revisit it.
Pretty sure yeah/nah is from Australia, it's been around here for like 40 years
Maybe.
Superb game always stuff to do and very absorbing and never feels like grinding

50% off in steam atm till the 26th
Totally agree with you! I played the game and put it on the shelf rather fast!
Ha. Yeah not for me.
Want to install for my 12 year old brother. I there any nudity in the game or adult scenes?
I have a 25% rule that I apply to vids and trailers. Most games are 25% less action packed and/or boring than trailers or vids show.
Nice.
Hey bud quite enjoy your reviews. Any chance you have a Palworld one in the pipeline? :)

Pal world way overrated. Too many Pokémon fans have bias

I enjoyed this review, he went into depth and showed gameplay and mixed it in with the trailer; I appreciate this video

Cheers man.
THANKS FOR SAVING ME THE MONEY :)
Anyone else feel like you were playing the part of a dwarf? The height of the character so wrong, how did they miss this? lol
I hear you. Sometimes games place the camera at the wrong height on the body - sort of.
Thanks for the review. Have you checked out Straya? Would love to hear what you have to say.
Never heard of it. I'll have a looksie. Thanks for watching.
