I just started playing after i stopped during its EA release I loaded up my save at 79 days, found myself on Copper Island and had no idea what i had been doing, so i eased myself back into things By day 90 i had started smithing copper tools and was doing great. I eventually stumbled on my solid canoe and realized that past me had loaded it up with stuff and had likely been preparing to rush to Windy island and try to rush whatever was there before the wind got me. But i stopped played and came back to have forgotten all about that plan. Ive just completed the Buffalo region tonight, and found the bird region was uncompleted, so i returned there before i moved on to puma. At day 113, i arrived at the isle of hope and found 2 new native maps they added, and that new tutorial island that confused the hell out of me and made me assume they moved Juan's spyglass closer to the grotto or something. But the real kick in the teeth, was spending last night getting my tannery going on copper island, and making leather to finally get the backpack. Only to find tonight at the isle of hope, that i _had_ chosen the backpack at the start, and forgot about it. Leaving it on the isle after it broke. And had i remembered, i could have repaired it instead of making a new one lol.
After beating the game a few times on very hard I honestly have stopped repairing anything other than boats. It's almost always better to craft a new item.
@stanleyclark923 I'd love to have that explained to me. As repairs often times cost a lot less. I almost never repair an item more than 3 times though.
Just wish we could manually do some of the work. The timer screen makes it far less immersive. I do like the risks and failures that come with crafting and cooking though.
I think the two systems are utterly incompatible. And while I've seen it implemented horrendously like with Mist survival, it's done beautifully here. They turned time itself into a resource where you need to keep an eye on things and be more prudent with what you do. Its an attempt to simulate survival "realistically" In a different way than we are used to. Sure, you can call chopping the tree down like in Son's of the Forest to be more realistic. But in real life, you dont chop a tree and build... well _anything_ as fast as you do in most survival games. In this one, it's much simpler. you choose the task of chopping a tree, and the game looks at the tool you're using, and you're skill, and says "2 hours, 16 minutes." And your mind can imagine the rest. As someone who has lopped down trees as thick only as my flexed bicep, I can safely say it's not a fast or easy thing to do, especially depending on the tool. Using an odd shaped machete blade took me a good 40 minutes or so to chop down 5 of them. And the soreness the next week was something else 🤣 And that was thin trees with a steel tool. Not thick ones with a stone tool. They opted to ask for your imagination to simulate realistic timetables and use time as a resource. It was a _somewhat_ novel idea, and I personally think it worked for them
I started playing this game two months ago, and I absolutely love it! I like to start out on the easiest settings for games i haven't played before, so I got to choose 4 items from the chest lol. Backpack is crucial! I haven't progressed very far by comparison to some yutubers, but I'm one of those people that likes to collect crap loads of loot 😂 and I actually restarted with 1.0 update (where I got the 4 items from the chest). Only thing I don't like is that if you do decide to restart, you lose all previous game saves. Good luck everyone!✌️❤️
I cant put this game down. I absolutely love it. I did not know about the dock fast travel. Thank you!

Yeah they could have made it take longer for you to actually chop down a tree like Ark

You can 'change' a stranded raft and move it further out.
Is it coming to consoles?
I am loveing the game playing on ps5 just got improved raft complete game changer i am playing on very hard iron man setting lol
Does the living water respawn??? im screwed man i think my health is permanently halved
They do not respawn. There are about 20 of them in the whole game.
They don't respawn, but there is a decent amount of them. But its definitely best to start playing more carefully if that's the case lol
Can you play one ps4?
Looks good
Stranded 2?
Much better! Fyi stranded 2 has been announced also
