Awesome vid! Props to Skylar for his musical preferences, Def Leppard FTW!! Very interesting process of how a large car audio company handles their amp repairs. I know a lot of companies use 3rd parties, which isn't an issue in itself, just more handing time and less control.
thanks, there are a few reasons why I use that song and one is I do like it, but mainly it is due to the range of frequency I can test with just one song, and the sudden bass drop is really nice for testing the low range of the amps.
Kicker Customer service is AWESOME!!! I purchased a Kicker Front Row DSP second hand that had a broken remote cable, and I wanted to purchase a new one. I spoke to Jolene Haven , not only did she quickly take all my info, then she shipped me one for free, & followed up with multiple emails until I received it. 👍🏻👍🏻 Great Job Kicker!!
I’ve called kickers costumer service and the guy was great! Walked me through more than enough. Tight video that shows “the brains” behind the refurbishment and or repair department 👍
As an old skool electronics repair tech, these are always interesting to me. A fun walk-thru, great to see a manufacturer not "outsource" repairs, but keep it in house. I've seen so much bad outsource stuff. A little brand pride goes a long way towards keeping your customer base happy! Thanks for the behind-the-scenes vid! Good stuff. Stu
Cool to see what actually goes on when you have a warranty issue ....I called orion when I bought my 3500.4 because when I opened the box for the first time ...I noticed that the factory seal (which your not supposed to break ) was already broken ...that being said as I told orion it didn't look to be broken by an individual but more like it had just cracked because it was a jagged tear and just looked like it had cracked due to the sticker drying out or something ....not exactly sure ....they weren't very helpful said if I did have an issue to send it in with purchase info (date , seller , proof of purchase etc. ) luckily no issue when I installed it or as of yet but I would say they will give me the run around if I did have send it back....even though I reported the problem when I received the amplifier ....but I did buy off an individual seller on ebay product was brand new and the seller had sold over 200 of then so idk ...at the price I bought the amp for I would probably just chalk it up if it did go out ....and just buy new .....great video nice to see some footage of the behind the scenes of kicker
When does the new redesigned Kicker subwoofer come out or has it already? It’s the one that they were talking a lot about on the live streams a couple a years ago.
what's up HiFi I have 2 cxa 1800.1's and one has s**t the bed when I hook a sub to it the sub sucks in and stays there found out my warranty is out shity bang any ideas what happened? keep'em coming I'll keep watching from Cincinnati
sounds like there is a bad comonet inside that is causing a DC voltage on the speaker terminals. but that would require part swapping by an expranced tech.
we do have particular overheating protection circuits in are amps, and will safely put the amp in protection. but if the customer lives in a hot environment then and has the amp installed in an area that has no ventilation, then yes that can be a problem. but I have worked here for almost 3 years and only ever heard of this problem twice. so to answer you, no Ventilation is not a big issue with are amps.
That is so cool to be able to establish a relationship with such a great *American* Manufacturer to get this kind of behind the scenes insight. Great quality control in their implementing a secondary audit to verify an item is repaired and operating correctly. Kicker FTW indeed. ❤💯🤘👍💪🔥

Supposed to be this summer. I can’t wait to get one in my hands.
These CX amps must their most popular, because I didn’t see many of the other models in the video.
So maybe it means the CX break down the most.

Hmm I’m not sure, but I do know they have a reasonable flat rate price for fixing those amps
sounds like there is a bad comonet inside that is causing a DC voltage on the speaker terminals. but that would require part swapping by an expranced tech.
Do you think the leading cause of amplifier failure is due to lack of ventilation?
In my experience it’s mostly misuse in the form of wiring too low, running it into low voltage situations or wire fraying etc
