Would these parts help my problem? I got a d90 error (90% clogged vent) I took off the vent pipe and vented into the room. I get the d90 error when not attached to the vent. The internal vent is clean.
    Any guesses?

you can save yourself loads off time just take out the vent tube at the back (one screw) and drop a light inside the machine so you can see what you can carefully replace the thermal fuse or temp sensor though the hole at the back , save too much time

Is there a way to test rhe thermal fuse to see 1) is it bad and 2) sis rhe replacement work prior to putting thr while thing back together?

Yes - Use a multimeter set to measure electrical resistance (Ohms, the Omega symbol). I dialed mine to “2K” and it worked fine. Hold the 2 probes to the fuse’s pins.
A good thermal fuse at room temperature will measure “0” resistance because it is closed, completing the circuit. A blown fuse will measure “1” because the circuit is broken (the same number you’ll see if the probes are simply held apart).

How do you know if the thermal fuse is bad? Is there an EASY way to check before you completely disassemble the machine?

If you know now please write back.

I know. I’m use to the item having + or - . I didn’t document the orientation when I removed the old one and have no idea if the replacement is the same… only frame of reference is the orientation of writing on it, and that could be different between manufacturers

Fuses are virtually ALWAYS bidirectional. In this case it's likely passing AC current anyway, so it can't be sensitive to direction.

    • @oldschoolfrp2326
      @oldschoolfrp2326 11 місяців тому

No direction to the fuse, put either end up (same with the red & white wires - they can go on either pin).
The exact same fuse without the bracket is used in other appliances like dishwashers, where it just pops into a 2-slot connector with no screws.

If there is a vital fuse in this dryer that will most likely need occasional replacement, why in the world did the designing engineers neglect to flip the healing element fuse assembly and create a removable plate in the side panel for easy access. So dumb!

There is absolutely "no" sense in removing all of those parts. If you are handy at all there is a screw in the back where your air duct connects.
Remove that screw and slide the exhaust piece all the way out.
    Your fuses are right there.
You can do it. Just takes patience.
    Dont follow the video.
It is way to much work. I did it the 1st time. Not smart.
    You are welcome.

I was just thinking that when I took the vent out to check and see if the fuse was tripped but my model like this one doesn't trip/reset so after running diagnostic no codes but vent and cleaning vent and wall flute I'm still not getting any codes or heat so I'll replace the thermal fuse and thermostat and hopefully I'll be all good!

Thank you. This is the dumbest GD video I’ve ever seen. Disassemble the whole dryer like this?!

After this factory training on how to take a part the whole dryer, I'm ready to work on the assembly line. So unnecessary to put a fuse all the way inside so screw you over, instead of the factory or the engineer department Figure it out to put the fuse on the back or something more accessible department

What if our LG dryer has no power whatsoever? No lights, nothing powers up. I checked with a multimeter and I have 240 volts at the black & red wires of the main plug of the dryer.

Worst design ever. Remove so much to get to the part, other brands, just remove the back.
