Whenever I go to a new city I am always overwhelmed by the vast array of food options belonging to that unique destination. I usually have a limited amount of time and just want to try everything. When I do decide on something I usually regret my decisions and say......I could have had that! (Something different)

My name is Brian but everyone calls me Greeny. I retired in January of 2020 after working 30 years in Law Enforcement. I wanted to retire young enough to be able to do some of the things I always dreamed about! I knew I wanted to travel extensively and retire somewhere warm and exotic I sampled a ton of places in the Caribbean, Panama, Colombia, Turkey but set my sights on Thailand.

Greeny if only you could smell food through the Internet.😂 That take away food looked good and healthy and very good value for money. Junk food for one and a drink at mac donalds or burger king here in South Africa costs about 6 US. Your sit down meal also looked great. Thanks for video.
    Enjoy yourself. 🙏

We all do Greeny, but it makes traveling that much more memorable.👍. That is why we always stay for a few days to try most foods.

The Hong Kongers love having bones in their food... as well as boiled water for their drink!
That meal you had in your room is right up my street! GREAT choice!
The light show is decent... but it's not like you missed something life-changing (and you saw some of it anyway).
I know you've already left HK, but did you venture up Victoria Peak? On a clear day the views are brilliant! If you're feeling adventurous, you can climb to the top (from Pok Fu Lam road there's a decent walk up). If not, then you can get the funicular railway from St. John's Cathedral.
Vietnamese coffee culture is due to it being a former French colony, whilst tea prevails in HK.
Hope you had a blast in HK! 👍

I did all the attentions on Hong Kong Island so didn’t even venture there. Victorias peak I would recommend as well

Greeny, Din Tai Fung is probably the best soup dumpling place is in the world. They are super famous. Even the people in Japan recognize that name. They orginated from Taiwan. You're suppose to eat soup dumpling with a big spoon, and bite into the tip of the dumpling(to create a hole), then pour a little of vinegar into it. Eat whole dumpling!

You're getting quite an experience with Cantonese dining. That selection of food is like nowhere else in the world. That's why my Cantonese wife cannot stand the food here in America. 😅 Wait till you visit mainland China, so many different regional varieties of food there. Enjoy

Greeny, those bone looking things are called "Youtiao"-Chinese Fried Dough Sticks. I eat them for breakfast growing up in Malaysia. Very easy to make but it will stink up the whole apt if you don't have a good venting system. You can eat it like it is or cut them up into sections. They also serve them in "Bak kut teh (meat bone tea)"- a pork rib dish cooked in Chinese medicinal herb with vegetables served with rice popular in Malaysia and Singapore. Not sure if it's available in Thailand but maybe you can find it in Chinatown there. You're supposed to eat that "xiaolongbao (small chinese dragon bun)" dumpling in one fell swoop so the entire thing explodes in your mouth! 😂 Looks like Hong Kong is kind of empty these days after the Chyna takeover (if you know what I mean). Definitely doesnt have the "cultural" feeling as Thailand. Reminds me of another big city in Malaysia such as Kuala Lumpur or Johor Bahru down south, except much nicer weather as you had stated and the food shrinkflation obviously didn't happen there! I miss the days when you get big portions of food here in Texas dirt cheap. Those days are gone.

@GreenyTravels - many millionaires and celebrities left decades ago when Hong Kong was handed back to China from UK back in 1997. We both know what went on a few years ago there too and 2020 pretty much put the final nail in the coffin. Hey at least it won't be people on top of people like NYC or SF or what's left of those cities. 🤐

What dilemma? You can’t move there… and who would want to move to a surveillance heavy, totalitarian state anyway. There is no dilemma as your UA-cam video title suggests …. Pop in for a short visit, enjoy the food and be grateful you live in a more free society …
btw. Chinese food is good , Thai food is better. Hong Kong is expensive to visit…
