Found Out His Lover was a SERIAL CHEATER...LAMBASTED her in This Epic 70s Classic!-Professor of Rock

- One of rock’s definitive frontmen, Jeff Lynne of Electric Light Orchestra, was the victim of a serial cheater. Jeff was smitten by this seductress but she made his life a living hell in her path of destruction. So naturally he got even by writing a song about it... He called it Evil Woman. Only he felt it was just filler… after all, he’d written in just a few minutes. In fact Jeff would say Evil Woman was the fastest song he ever wrote and part of the music was from a song he’d written earlier called Nightider that he played backwards. In the end Evil Woman became ELO’s first major hit and one of his favorites. The story is next on Professor of Rock.

#classicrock #70smusic #vinylstory #electriclightorchestra
It’s time for another helping of our show #1 in our hearts where we take a song that was so unbelievably great and rewrite history, giving it the coveted #1 slot for a day. These are songs that for the most part were hits and have since garnered more acclaim years later than the songs that were at #1 the week that it said song peaked. NOT always the case but most of the time. This one is an easy one. to start out…
Even a Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame virtuoso can be seduced by a femme fatale…. It definitely happened to the great Jeff Lynne…
Betrayed & shattered…. Jeff was the emotional victim of an “Evil Woman.” But he got the last laugh, by using the emotional devastation she inflicted upon him to inspire the creation of a song that catapulted him into global stardom.
Jeff Lynne…. with his WOWZA afro & Aviator sunglasses, was a striking rock icon that emerged in the 70s…. Lynne was a leader of the post-Beatles generation when he assembled a bold theatrical ensemble…known as E-L-O….the Electric Light Orchestra and lit the charts on fire with his colorful and eclectic songs. The artistic objective of ELO was to get away from the same old 'three guitars and drums' outfit, with a dynamic blend of classical music, progressive rock, and orchestral rhythm.
Despite critics calling them “dull” and poking fun at their spaceship imagery, ELO pumped out the hits in the UK…But for some reason success eluded them in America until they had a breakthrough with the ballad “Can’t Get It Out of My Head” which went to #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early ’75: Although ELO was a hit machine in the UK, with four Top-20 singles, “Can't Get It Out of My Head” did not chart in that country.
The 2nd coming of ELO in the UK, and their consistent prominence in America from '75 through '86 began with the breakout of “Evil Woman”- the lead single from the orchestra’s 5th studio album Face the Music in ’75 that busted the Top 10 in the U.S., the U.K, New Zealand, and Canada “Evil Woman” was inspired by a real woman from Jeff Lynne's private life, that, to borrow a classic rock term, "dazed and confused" ELO’s front man.
She was a woman who used his celebrity, cheated on him, and played him for a fool. Jeff Lynne, and his fellow musicians that constituted the Electric Light Orchestra, spent most of the summer of ’75 in Munich, Germany, working on the Face the Music album at the Musicland Studio. The album was nearly finalized, when Lynne took another listen to the completed tracks, and felt something was missing. Lynne thought they needed to come up with one more track. - Розваги
Poll: Here's one...What is your pick for the best musical production on a song?
Boz Scaggs - Jojo.
"Baker Street" by Jerry Rafferty is a great example of 1970s studio wizardry.
The best engineered album of all time, in my opinion, would by _The Nightfly_ by Donald Fagen, which was one of the first albums recorded digitally.
Of course, Steely Dan's albums _Aja_ and _Gaucho_ are probably the best produced analog albums.
Best production for me would either go to Foreplay/Longtime off of Boston's first record, really any song off that album, or any song off of YES, 90125.
Any song off of Supertramp, Breakfast in America would be a contender.
Aside from how great the writing and performances are on any of these works, the production on any of them are absolute masterclasses in production. They are all absolute masterpieces.
Papa was a Rolling Stone
Aqua Boogie
Last Train to London
A Day in the Life - The Beatles
HMs Time - Pink Floyd
Kasmir - Led Zeppelin
Good Vibrations - The Beach Boys
Im a 70s kid. I had the opportunity to see ELO twice. They were and incredible band. I raised my kids on my music. My son (16) started playing guitar at 10. His teacher asked him who were his musical influences. Bobby said "Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, George Harrison - together and separately." My son tells his sister (26) she married her husband because he looks like Jeff Lynne. If your kids are Jeff Lynne fans, you raised them right.
Thanks!
Fab story👍
Our older son (24) loves rock from the 70s, our younger one (22) well.....he likes (k)rap and country. where did i go wrong?
Jeff Lynn is on his final tour with his current version of ELO.
Awesome!!!!!🤘😎🤙
Evil Woman has such a unique and magnetic opening to it... Got me from the first listen!
Great way of saying it Flave!
i remember some stations cut the opening... the part that explains the whole song. Cutting or adjusting pitch always triggered me.
When it came out, we thought it was Medieval Woman.
@@CasualSpud I remember that too... good point!
It’s just so polished and perfect.
ELO underrated ! Jeff Lynne's singing is one of my favorites to listen to. He is such a beautiful vocalist. ❤❤❤
I love ELO. I got my 14 year old into classic rock when he was 10. ELO is one of his favorites.
Thank you ELO for making cellos rock!
The trash band OVERKILL used a cello at the end of the song "Wicked Place". While you may think a cello in a thrash song would clash, it actually worked. It was very haunting.
Jeff Lynne thanks Roy Wood.
Cellos are awesome
Speaking of rock cello, Apocalyptica is amazing! Saw them live at the Fillmore in Philly a few years back. So cool!
The dead south use one as a BASS and it works so well!
Adam I agree with you. The more I learn about Jeff Lynne I am convinced that he is a genius.
Me too
I always liked their songs, Don't Bring Me Down, and Telephone Line.
Last train to London is one of my favorites. And of course, Mr. Blue sky.
Confusion is my favourite
Strange magic my fav. They did some fabulous tunes in the 70s and early 80s. E L O terrific band.
The first time I sat down, laid out my brother-in-laws album collection on the floor, and listened to ELO Discovery... I felt I had found a long lost favourite band. I hadn't ever purposly listend to ELO until then. I was hooked, and they remain in my top 5 favorite groups of all time.
Jeff Lynne is a genius. Saw him in concert a couple of years ago and he was still awesome! Can't wait to see him when he comes around again this fall!
R.I.P. Mike Pinder - The Moody Blues
A mellotron sound like no other.
😢
RIP Melancholy man "..we're going to keep growing, wait and see.."😞
“There you go man, keep as cool as you can, face piles of trials with smiles, it riles them to believe you perceive the web they weave, so keep on thinking free” - on the threshold of a dream
So sad to hear.
Didn't hear about that! So sad. He will be missed.
There are a few ELO songs that bring me right back to my living room on a Sunday afternoon at a very young age- like 4-7. "Evil Woman" is one of them. Two others are "Telephone Line" and "Turn To Stone." They made a lasting impression on me as a kid.
Same here. Also, Don't Bring Me Down
I like a lot of them, but I wish there were a song like the opening of "tightrope", but extended length.
Great songs.
Ditto!
Mr Blue Sky (& the album 'Out of the Blue") took me into the 80s:)
ELO was one of the greatest bands to come out of the seventies. Great songwriting, mind-boggling musicianship, and hooks for miles. Thanks, professor. You could probably do a week or two of just ELO songs.
As a musician, I adore listening to ELO as much today as I did in the 70s. Musical talent made music what it was back then.
So great.
Yes indeed. True talent.
Jeff Lynn is pure genius!! ELO is one of my top favs! This was great Professor ❤
ELO & Jeff Lynne criminally underrated!
Don't forget the music is superb, along with the great lyrics. Every man who has been cheated on thoroughly enjoys this song. Masterpiece, but, that is a day at the office for Jeff Lynne
Haha, he always knows masterpieces!
Jeff Lynne is a blast. A musician for sixty-one years and still on tour.
Exactly. Are you going to see him this summer?
@@ProfessorofRockSeptember 7th in Indianapolis for me😊
@@lauriesolonka2477 YES!
@@ProfessorofRock If he comes close.
Such a great long career.
In 1981 I was living in Kansas City, I got off work early, and when I turn on the radio in my car the DJ exclaims that ELO has not yet started, and that there are still tickets available. I went, and it was an incredible concert.
Jeff Lynne is such a humble easy going guy. I'm sure he could find a lot of women who would appreciate him 🙂
I remember my brother John playing the music for this song on any type of keyboard he could find!! I never realized how awesome the song was until my brother Mark became a fan of ELO!! He still loves their music!!
Very cool!
Awesome!
Everything Jeff Lynne did was special..can still listen to elo for hours!
ELO, The Seven Man Band, has been my favorite band since 5th grade...around 1978. Living in rural Maine at the time, we did not have a lot of disposable income. Back in that era, things were different for kids...if you wanted something, you had to work and save your allowance for it. Then you had to convince your folks to take the time to bring you to town so you could buy it. That's how it was for me, we lived about 30 minutes outside of Bangor. There wasn't a mall at that time so making the "pilgrimage" of a day spent downtown was kind of a big deal. Me and my buddy Derek would have the day all planned out...grab breakfast at the Norumbega, hit The Gamemaster for D&D stuff, head over to the arcade for a few bucks worth of video games, catch a matinee at the opera house and finally head to Varney Music. I couldn't afford brand new records at 10 bucks a pop, so I'd hit the bins of used ELO records and try to find some gems. What I ended up doing was find multiple copies of the same record and try to piece together the best album cover, the best inner sleeve, any extras and of course, the best vinyl pressing. I'd get them all together for the best overall experience and for about 3 bucks, walk out like I'd hit the lottery. It took a while, but I eventually had all of their US released records. I remember there was a skip on "Evil Woman" that took me forever to fix, but when I did, the joy it brought was incredible. At night, I'd put on my headphones and listen to ELO for hours. Big clunky headphones...with an 8' coiled cord so I could move around my room. With the headphones on, you could pick up all these little nuances that were missed otherwise. As a child of the 70s and 80s, Jeff Lynn and ELO took me on banger musical adventures and it was awesome. I even used Jeff Lynn's lyric from "Boy Blue" (El Dorado, 1974) in my yearbook as my senior quote, "One thing, I have learned through the years, is that no man should be stricken with fear, it should be that he walks with no care in the world." There are so many significant events of my childhood that revolve around or can be connected to this band that it can be said that they have been woven into the tapestry that is my life.
There were no fans of ELO like me, growing up in my neck of the woods and I always felt the Jeff Lynn and ELO were truly underappreciated. It seems lately that the world is finally and truly appreciating just how great ELO's music really is. Thank you, Dr. of Rock, for your many episodes featuring Jeff Lynn and his far reaching influence in rock-n-roll. For me, your segments lend a certain amount of validation, legitimacy and closure for my seemingly eccentric childhood musical preferences, even after all these years.
yes we did the same just in our neighborhood though grants then woolworths had cut out bin 99 cents 45s then later small store opened had new and used same like 2 3 dollars had cassettes current 2 or 3 budget nin dollar 2 for 3 if you had like 10 bucks get a vinly few tapes
ps at local thrift last summer i found ghits one we bought back then ironically about the same price 3 or 4 dollars 40 years ago great condtion also
E.L.O. were great and still are. Evil woman is a great song. Jeff Lynne is a great singer. I also loved his group the traveling wilberries.
The Wilburys are the best supergroup of all time.
Professor, so glad you have included Jeff Lynne. He was one of the greatest talents, so diverse and just genuine.
Channels like this and Charasmatic Voice make it impossible to have a favorite, singer, band or song. I've heard (and loved) all the music in my 57.yrs, but I don't think i LISTENED to much of it until UA-cam made it possible to share and spread our love of everything musical. I just wish i had enough money to support ALL the channels i dig. 🤘🏻
Thanks for watching. I truly appreciate the support in just watching the videos! Have a great day!
Don't forget Rick Beato, Michael Noland and Aimee Nolte.
And Wings of Pegasus!
yeh since our local indie classic rock station had to close down closr to 2 years ago now many of the songs havent heard since good to revisit local everyone bummer but they jusy couldnt keep it going
I grew up in the best era of music. I'm 61 now, but I have miles of concerts under my belt, and several of those include ELO. Such stellar live performances....unless I am afflicted with dementia, I'll always have these magnificent memories to reflect upon in my dotage.
60 next month and totally agree!

Love it when you cover Jeff Lynne. ELO is by far my favorite band of all time.
Even when Lynn wrote songs, like “Evil Woman” that were based on heart breaking times in his life, there always seems to be a positivity embedded within the composition. Jeff Lynne is, to me, the cure for the doldrums.
THANK YOU Prof for all your amazing coverage of ELO! Pure genius...Jeff Lynne and ELO! They've been my favorite group since I first heard them as a boy in the late 70's. Eldorado is a masterpiece, unmatched to this day for its amazing mix of rock and strings. Face the Music, Out of the Blue, A New World Record, Discovery, all amazing works of musical genius. Must see their farewell tour this summer...will be my third ELO concert.
This song would have to be in any list for iconic songs of all time.
It sure would!
This song helped me after a breakup with a girl who was a succubus. Beautiful, charming. I thought the world of her. But she drained away my life and made it a living purgatory.
I’d like to say I finally woke up and initiated getting out of the relationship, but she too cheated on me. At first I was devastated, but quickly I realized how fortunate I was to be rid of her from my life.
I’m now married for 33 years and have my soulmate.
I really appreciate this song!
Thanks for sharing
Congrats to you guys!
Sounds like my ex! (Maybe she was. . . .)
I was a young kid when I first heard ELO, but it wasn’t until Don’t Bring Me Down when I became a mega-fan. I used to sit near my radio/cassette recorder and wait for their songs to be played on the radio after that (when my dad finally bought a stereo tape deck/radio) and even recorded all the ELO songs I could get when CBS finally aired Zanadu on TV. When my parents finally realized how hooked I was on Lynne’s music, they bought me their next album when it came out and it became my favorite album ever-TIME. I’m still hooked on it, my kids love it, and I have all of Jeff Lynne’s and ELO’s albums. I’ve now seen Jeff Lynne’s ELO perform twice, including the VetsAid concert in San Diego last November, and I’ll be taking the entire family out to California to see his final show stateside. His music has changed my life far for the better. And thank you, Professor of Rock, for covering him and feeling the same way about his music! It truly is “Timeless.”
Thanks for covering ELO. I grew up when they were in their pomp and years later used to play their greatest hits whilst driving through France on the family holiday ....Queen greatest hits was a favourite too !
I love Jeff Lynne and Electric Light Orchestra. One of my top five for sure.
Such a master. What's your favorite song?
@@ProfessorofRock Either Don't Bring Me Down or Do Ya. Livin' Thing and Strange Magic would be right behind those.
Livin' thing, Do ya, Last train to London...there are so many good songs from this unic band.
I wanna say just a unique band. And a fine ballad Don't walk away from a great sondtrack Xanadu.
Jeff Lynne IS a musical genius… there’s no doubt about it
Yes it's one of the greats. To this day I still enjoy that song.
Thanks again for covering Jeff Lynne and ELO! Their music was the soundtrack of my childhood.
14:55 Proof the Professor is a human being! You said Strange Music when you were talking about Strange Magic. It happens to the best of us. 😅 Take care and don't stay up late recording/ editing. 😊
Prof, I’m so glad you highlighted Richard Tandy’s playing on this one. I don’t think he gets enough recognition for what he added to the ELO soundscape through the years! Jeff wouldn’t have had as many hits without him. And to think, he switched from bass to keys with this band!
Jeff Lynne is just my favorite of all! I play his music all the time.
Wow! How (most likely) the worst woman Jeff Lynn ever knew became one of his best songs.....Evil becomes Good and Curses become Blessings...I wish we all were that "Lucky!"...Great Story...Great Music!
Love ELO. ELO greatest hits album was my first vinyl album - asked for it for Christmas 1979 when I was 7 because I wanted to be like my big brother. The last concert he and I went to together was ELO. He committed suicide in 2019, so I treasure those memories and can’t help but think of him every time I hear ELO
I knew it had to be Evil Woman, of course. Jeff Lynne is a musical genius. LOVE ELO!!
Always interesting how many songs come because of unfaithful lovers.
Great pain often inspires great art!

"I cant get it out of my head". The Pavel Checkov story!
Right!
ROTFL! 😂
I remember that album & I remember how ELO felt like a breath of fresh air. It felt like a musical epiphany.
Mr Blue Sky is my favorite, it is so upbeat but also interesting to listen to.
There are many benefits to following the Professor of Rock but one of the main ones for me is getting to re-explore and re-discover certain bands that I didn't follow all that closely back in the day and developing a whole new appreciation for them. This video on ELO is a great example. Well done, Prof!!
I'm 68 and only tonight realized that 45+33=78!
Evil Woman is the first song I heard from ELO. After hearing it, I had to find as much of their music as I could get.
I had a habit of listening to this song any time I had a bad breakup. It reminded me that it could have been worse.
ELO will always be a part of my playlist. They will always be one of my favorite groups of all time.
I was a teen in the 70s. I have loved ELO forever! I was very lucky to be a teen in those times!
@ProfessorofRock. Thank you for this appreciation of Jeff Lynne. I am sure you will agree that whatever recorded music Jeff works on as a writer/musician/producer/arranger/etc. he kind of leaves his “thumbprint” on all of his creations. Thanks again. Stay safe and well.
El Dorado is my favorite album of ELO. A true masterpiece!!
Never knew the story behind this song - learned something new today! Truly do appreciate your videos, Professor. SO glad I have these to help start my day. I always loved this song and anything by ELO. Am excited to see that Jeff Lynne's ELO is on tour (albeit the farewell tour). I'm hoping to catch it somewhere along the line before he says Goodbye. :)
Jeff said that he had "Called America" on the "Telephone Line" and who answered but the "Evil Woman"
One of my all time favorites. Play it till this day. That beginning knocks me out.
Probably my favorite song by them! Saw them summer of ‘78! Fantastic!🤘🔥
Love ELO since first hearing them in Jr high!!!❤❤❤ thanks, Adam!!!
I'd like you to cover some of the ELO tracks from Xanadu. There's some really hidden gold in that forgotten soundtrack and not just from ELO
As a thank you for taking his daughter’s senior photos a friend of mine surprised me with tickets for an ELO concert coming up in September. Considering my skill level as a photographer, this was more than generous.
Of all the concerts I went to in the 70's and 80's, ELO stands out. ELO had the best light show EVER.
This was my first encounter with ELO - my big brother bought FACE THE MUSIC on cassette when it came out and we played it to pieces on his Grundig C400 mono casette player. By then we were made ready to dive into ELO world when New World Record came out later. The rest is history ❤
Yep, listen to at least 3 to 4 ELO songs a day with my playlist running in the background when working around the house.
What are your favorites?
@@Code.Name.V my all time favorite isn’t even a song but an instrumental… The Whale off the Out of the Blue album. Usually listen to that to unwind and relax.
Me too. ELO is in heavy rotation when I'm playing music, which is pretty much every day.
That’s a great day guaranteed.
ELO, Moody Blues, 10CC
All atmospheric genius.
Their ability to float classical arrangements in an ethereal abyss of transcendence.
Got to love it...
It has always baffled me why some long forgotten critics, labelled ELO as uninteresting, which couldn’t be further from the truth. The band stood out with its unique sound and unmatched production quality. Jeff Lynne showed tremendous skill and talent throughout the years when ELO was churning out hit after hit, a skill that continues to this day.
The fact that a massive percentage of men have fallen victim to this same evil, and the same for women who have been victimized by evil men, is why so many can relate to this song. It also helps that the song happens to be created by top shelf musicians.
No question.
Superb album all round. ELO were never dull.
My fave ELO song...remember listening to it with my mom in the 70s...
Evil woman has been my favorite song, since it was released, still love it today.. E.L.O. should have been their first #1 song . My favorite band.. timeless music, my kids grew up on it.Seen ELO 2019 Rogers Vancouver, with my daughter. It was wonderful. Best concert I`ve been to, Evil woman ,and all songs performed looked and sounded amazing !
I went to a house party back in the 70's, shortly after ELO's 'A New World Record' came out. As the host was about to put in on the turntable, another guest called out "Play the other side!" I'm like how'd you know which side they were putting on and that you wanted the other side. Then they showed me the record label. 😂
I always thought it sounded like he was saying "medieval woman". Love this song, thanks for the history! Saying someone was influenced by Stevie Wonder is like saying they have a heart and brain.
Haha that’s still how I sing it. Cannot get it right. Lol
Adam, i just want to say you are a man out if his time.❤
Did not know that connection to McCartney's lyric. Very cool! Like so many 70s/80s bands, I love the uniqueness of ELO and still listen to their music regularly. Thank you Professor.
Love Evil Woman by ELO. Evil Woman, Strange Magic, Hold On Tight are my favorites .
Great songs. He's a master.
Love E.L.O. also love that Elvis shirt Professor! T.C.B. ⚡
You know it!
ELO was the greatest orchestral rock group of its era. The composing and engineering g of Jell Lynn can’t be over emphasized. I still listen to them with admiration.
Jeff is genius.
You nailed it, a musical genius. So much pure, raw talent.
Amen! HE's a master.
I was a kid watching the movie, Xanadu, and FELL IN LOVE with the soundtrack! The voice just TOUCHED something in my SOUL! When I found out the name of the band, ELO, I Started looking for everything and ANYTHING that I could get my hands on. Later in life, middle school to be exact, I realized I was an Electric Light Orchestra fan! I love Jeff Lynn’s music and I am NOT AFRAID to tell people. I mean, COME ON! How can ANYONE hate Mr Blue Skies?! Evil Woman has such a funky feel to it!! I loved being 10 yrs ols and dancing around in my room to Evil Woman! Why ELO was so frowned upon I’ll NEVER know…
The man is so hard to hate.
I hear ya - I saw them @Madison Sq Garden 1978 when Mr. Blue SKY (not 'Skies') was bein played on FM radio
Even a musical genius like Jeff are only human when it comes to the opposites!😮😮
I’ve always loved “ Living Thing” since I was a kid. I’ve come to appreciate the genius of Jeff Lynne even more since I started playing guitar.
ELO was one of the best bands EVER. George Harrison called him "Beatle Jeff". And to this day Jeff can't read music lol! The amazing lyrics, the rock combined with the strings, the fun they had on stage performing... the best time for live music back then! (I wish I had been old enough to go to concerts back then) Jeff has never divulged the identity of the "Evil Woman" but I'm sure she knows who she is. Jeff said this is his last tour so if you want to feel the experience you better hurry!
Amen. I agree wholeheartedly!
I respect him even more for not divulging her name. That's a classy man.
Jeff deserves to be a fifth Beatle!
A wise man
Indeed. It was also said that ELO were doing what the Beatles would have developed into if they hadn't split (or something like that). Think Paul said it.
Just watched a memoriam for Michael Pinder of the Moody Blues. Seems like almost every day we lose a 50s, 60s, 70s musician.
Unfortunately death comes for everyone eventually.
l think he means all the talents gone music today is lost .
One of my favorite bands in my high school years.
Cant get it out of my head is one of my favourite tracks of all time.
Always loved this song, and strange magic, really brings me back to junior hs
Jeff Lynne is doing a farewell ELO tour. Unfortunately, the closest they wull get to me in Tampa is Atlanta Georgia and the tickets are stupid expensive. They are one of the few groups left on my all time bucket list, so I might have to bite the bullet, buy the tix and drive to Atlanta for the show.
The world is a better place with Jeff Lynn in it.
From the same album - One Summer Dream - absolute brilliance.
The most amazing thing is Jeff Lynne is 76 (as of last Dec 31) and still delivers an amazing show. His guitars and vocals, falsetto included, are still strong and on original key. Unfortunately, the last tour of Jeff Lynne's ELO in the US is happening now. A must see mega show.
He's quite spectacular.
He was born on NYE!
Had to turn on my keyboard and fire up the clavi voice and rock the riffs for " Evil Woman" and "Superstition"!!! My ten year old grandson runs in the room and say's Grandpa ! WHAT IS THAT ! WOW!!! Thanks for the memories Professor of Rock !!!
Jeff Lynne gives the impression he would make music, even if he was born before it was invented!
By far my favorite rock channel. These backstories are always fascinating. RIP Brad Delp.
ELO (Lynne) truly underrated. Like Alan Parsons he understands the production scale and has the stage talent to match it. Master lyricist also. Thanks Adam!
ELO is such an underrated band. Their songs are a cornucopia of amazing layers of lyrics and music ❤️❤️❤️
So many hits!
So many layers.
As a young teen, I was in one of those mail order music clubs. Columbia music club I think it was called. I had forgotten once month to mail in my order and as it turned out this ELO album was the selection of the month so they’d send it to you if you didn’t send your fork back and tell them not to send it. I was blown away-no other musical act was like ELO. They had such a distinct sound. Thanks for another great video POR!
Breaking up is hard to do, even if you are a rock and roll star!
I ❤ the piano melody on Evil Woman. It has syncopation in the bass and is the hook for me. 🎹
That's right! Love it too. Such great music.
I can easily play that on piano!
Man, your channel is so much fun! To hear trivia about some of the greatest bands and artists is fantastic. As well as, your editing and the way you set things up just makes it go so smoothly. And I'm with ya regarding staring into the abyss of an album cover. I was like that with an Earth, Wind and Fire album cover. Wondering what the pyramids meant and other things on that album.
And I didn't realize that was him in the Traveling Wilurys! WOW!! That went under my radar.
This story is so great to hear. The lines now make way more sense too! Thank you for this and for your wonderful channel!
So great to see Jeff get acclaim. The UK version of this was A New World Record. I still listen to it frequently now as it is an astounding album. I saw ELO at the Wembley Arena in '78 for the Out Of The Blue tour. I can still see the top of the spaceship lifting off to the refrains of Thunder And Lightning. Thanks Jeff!!!!!!!!
Embarrassingly, for the majority of my 44 years on this planet, I thought for the very longest time they were singing “mid evil women”. No one ever corrected me lol.
lol I used to think they were saying ‘medieval woman’ 😆
That’s funny. We’ve all been there though. If it helps, I thought Jefferson Starship was saying “Train”, but it was actually “Jane” back in the day.
😂😂😂😂
Awesome story!
THOSE THREE SONGS THAT ERA HELPED SOFTEN THE COLD SNOWY SEASON OF THAT TIME. GOING TO JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL HERE IN BROOKLYN NY 😊😊 AWESOME MUSIC YEARS !!!!!
The first time I heard this song was on the K-Tel album "Hit Machine." I still love every song on that album to this day. I've played almost all of them in the bands I've been in over the years.
