South shore lake ontario niagara region.I run michigan stinger super slims copper backed spoons 40 to 80ft back in prop wash with spit shot 5 to 8 ft from spoon,,,,they absolutly hammer the sppon.
We use to have that light line tournament southern Huron and st Clare river.. always remove that front hook .. big king hits pretty common line gets cut in the barb on the front hook.. walleye trolling those bandits and deep downs remove the front hook replace the back two with eagle claw lazers adds 25% catch rate... Trying some single hooks with barrel swivels to our thin fins. Trying those this weekend. We always had brown trout tournament at Arcadia first weekend of May . Evening bite was amazing.. there' was a lot walleye in those rocks that weekend. Those hogs swim across lk Michigan spawn in our rivers then drop back in those rock piles up shallow. Go back at night with size 18 rapals pickup those spawned out hogs up to 13 pounds . There's window there in May there's hogeyes mixed in the browns they just lay there during the day

He mailed me some hot spoons all had single hooks .. put the first one down mongoose color Atlantic grabs it I'm all excited my first Atlantic.. thing jumped thru hole in the net busted the line took the spoon I was like what just happened. My son's like idk
Great video. Everyone talks about catching browns in the spring. Any idea where you can catch them in the summer? I’m just asking because I fish near Chicago and in July / August you have to go really far offshore to get to lake trout. No one fishes closer in and I’m wondering if maybe there is a good option for brown trout.
take the thermocline to the beach give or take 5-10 feet. browns are going to be where food is at. they can be in warm water. if thermocline is 30-50 20 fow snake in shallower and deeper. no reason for them to leave unless break dips 50-70 but what that happens during king season and nobody cares about browns than in 30-40 fow
browns are elusive. I dont know how a boat can catch any at all. I fish the beach and I literally lay down even the folks walking dogs etc poof gone. one boat running the beach poof gone. fish miserable conditions to keep folks away all together. gl

wow i can't imagine hitting the boat ramp and it's 14 out. that's true dedication brrrr.......
