Cole Hocker Wins 2nd Straight Olympic Trials 1500m, Meet Record!

Cole Hocker of Nike won his second consecutive U.S. Olympic Team Trials 1,500 meters final on Monday at Hayward Field, kicking to the victory in a personal best time of 3:30.59, which is also the Trials record.

Brilliant race, should be studied by all serious middle distance runners. Stay out of trouble (crowd) initially, move up with more than a lap to go, and a really fast finish over 200+ metres. If he can stick to this type of plan, Hocker has a good shot against Ingebritsen, Kerr, the Kenyans, and others in Paris. I hope Nuguse does not finish up like Lincoln (late fifties) or Jazy (early sixties), coming up just short (?), in the most important races.
