This is an exceptionally well-made guide, you should be very proud! The fight is actually much more forgiving than I expected. I couldn't match the guide's exact setup but managed to win with what I could cobble together, and while I only got him to about half health in the first stagger, he was surprisingly polite about letting me Firaga the rest of it away. So to anyone reading who also can't match the builds exactly, don't be discouraged!
This pretty much happened with me. I finished him with Bahamut's Megaflare and a single Tifa doing a Fire spell to get him. He isn't as difficult as those a-holes from Top Secrets. His healing was also not that difficult, for Fire spells seem to stop it for a time.
I tend to only lurk YT and don't really comment or participate but this guide was so good and I replicated the strategy after a few tries and reading and it was just too amazing. Thank you so much for this.
I'm late to the PS5 party, but after 2 years away from the game and finally playing intergrade, I took Weiss down in under an hour with this guide. Great Strat.
Hands down best guide. I knew from the moment I saw you break it down step by step that this would be the one for me, and sure enough! I took about 3 or 4 attempts getting used to dodging Weiss plus one where Aerith staggered him too early 😅 but on my sixth attempt, it worked almost as well as your video. Thank you Jame! This is the best Weiss guide by far. It might seem like a lot of steps, but it's very easy to follow. After trying someone else's guide and failing, I followed this guide and beat him on the first attempt! A few things to note: 1) You can get extra Fury Rings by starting Chapter 14 and running straight to Don Corneo's mansion. Takes about 5mins to get two more. 2) Remember to lock onto Weiss at the start! 3) Focus on learning how to dodge Weiss' attacks first before following this guide properly. It should only take a few attempts to get used to the timing. 4) If you're caught on the back-foot for Evisceration or Crosswide Cleave, just spam a backwards dodge. You may not get the pressure, but it saves being hit hard. You have lots of time before Phase 2, so it doesn't matter if you miss a few chances at pressuring. 5) The dodge for Stab is later than you think. Don't panic and wait till he gets close. The timing window is reasonably generous 6) If you need to get your bearings or if you're at a stage where you need to issue multiple commands quickly, just mash L2/R2 (to bring the menu up) and then (maybe) pause. It's safer than pressing X as you won't accidentally issue a command.

Thanks to this guide I beat him on my 3rd attempt after many failures using other guides. If you are missing any of the purple materia you can buy them from Chandley in the hallway. You don't have to master them.
Took me about 10 tries but I got it. I couldn't beat him in the staggered state but once he shifted I was able to summon ifrit and smack him with aerith, cloud and tifa. Thanks again. Your guides were awesome. Finally got my platinum. Now on to crisis core 😊

I was seriously expecting a godlike fight... This was actually easy once I got the fight down. Well, with that out of the way, I thank you very much for helping me Platinum my favorite Remake of my favorite Final Fantasy title. Again, the hard work you put into these guides I can't express the gratitude enough. And thus this journey comes to an end. But, I'm really hoping to see you again when Rebirth releases. And I'll be sure to look you up first should I pick another title I wish to 100%.

Gotta say I was skecptical about any strategy that didn't include double maxed HP Up and MP Up, since I was used to tanking and being conservative with these challenge boss fights, but this do or die strategy worked out in the end (not as perfectly as the video - but got there in the end with Firaga burning Weiss alive). In any case, thank you very much for helping me get the final trophy for Intermission/FFVII Remake (now to wait for either FFXVI or the next VII Remake chapter).

Thank you very much for this version of Tifa's Strat. Even if you're not able to stack up to 300%+ on first stagger, it is possible to back up with Firagas when he pulls out the mini gun. Great video!
Amazing guide, quick to the point and explaining everything. Beat him on second try using this guide. Fumbled a couple of inputs first try but that was still close even with my mess ups. Doing a 100% run in preperation for Rebirth at the moment.
Took me some time get Cloud and Aerith on the Arcane Ward and still didn’t do max damage because of my mistakes, but I got his health down to 20% and was able to finish him in the second phase! Thanks for showing me how to defeat Weiss using this easy to follow guide!
This is incredible! It took me a few tries to get it done fast enough, and then his HP got wiped out in no time. Thanks for your help, and for the step by step guide.
This strat also worked for me, so thank you very much! The one thing I will stress that helps is you can probably have him in the second phase with about 1/4 of his hp left. Then you can just dodge with Tifa (it's really easy) and then let Cloud and Aerith FIraga him down. His defense is MUCH lower in phase 2 and he doesn't really do anything if he can't get to you.

After hours of research, countless attempts, and 3 days of failure, this guide has been the shining light, my knight in shining armor, and my savior from the darkness. I was so lost within the sauce trying to beat Weiss, my life seemed like it was at a standstill. I've had no problem with any of the other bosses within the game including the dlc until I've encountered this white haired devil. Thank you so much for bringing me this much needed closure. Tell my family I love them for I can die a peaceful death and a happy man.

Perfect guide. I follow your setup and succeed in 2 tries. Dodging was easier than I thought, even the jump over during Stab (don't know why but it was almost impossible against Reno but here it works all the time). Thanks a lot.
This is the best guide out there! Took me four tries, mostly just trying to learn how to dodge properly. I still botched it and kept going, by the end I only had aerith alive launching fireballs but he was weak enough to finish. Thank you so much!!!

This was epic! When the DLC came out I've tried it a couple times and even wathced a couple tutorials but I couldn't do it. Now with Rebirth on the horizon I thought I'd give this and the Yuffie epic bosses another go. And now, with help of this little guide, I have done it! Finally! Thanks alot for this, really appreciated.
Was trying to get this done before rebirth and came across this guide. I followed about half of it because my skill master materia were lvl 1 and u just couldn't figure out how to dodge evisceration reliably, but even with that much I was able to get him down to 20% in 1 stagger and then ifrit/firaga him to death with aerith while running away with Tifa. My main issue was spamming cure with aerith because I kept getting hit and having her out of atb when it came time to kill. I'd say this guide isn't easy and definitely requires a lot of work to pull off (and the timing is way tighter than expected), but if I was able to win with only half of it, then I bet it's amazing when you can actually pull off all of it. Thanks! All in all, it took me maybe an hour and a half to get the win.

I tried doing this strat on the first time I tried fighting Weiss. It's been years since I last played so I am a bit rusty with using all characters but I managed to defeat him on my 3rd try. I followed your strat but he still had more than 1/3 of his health when he went to his 2nd phase. Fortunately for me, though, he was such a pushover in that phase. I just spammed Firaga over and over while dodging to fill up the ATB of all my characters and he died soon afterwards with minimal effort
Yo, you did a phenomenal job with this, not only figuring out this very effective strategy, you also did a phenomenal job putting this together the way that you did. I found your post on reddit, and I usually can't stand watching video walkthroughs because so many are overly drawn out and oftentimes rambling on about so many unrelated things. That being said, I was having a bit of difficulty getting down the whole flow of things down and executing all the steps efficiently. I typically do better seeing a good demonstration at first. After wasting a few days, not really wanting to watch a video for it. I finally decided to cave in and watch it, just to be amazed at how well you put this together. I wish I would have done so sooner ctfu. This is the kind of guide video I like, yet the majority of video guides are usually so overly drawn out that I have a tendency to waste a lot time figuring things out for myself before eventually caving in to watch one because I'm usually thinking they're gonna be like 3 times longer than they need to be. You did such a good job at this and helped me out big time, coming in Clutch with this strategy, so I felt I owe it to you to tell you just how helpful this was, and just how good of a job you did with all of it. Got it on my third try with only 2 fury rings. went gotterdamurung with tifa, but failed to get it off before the end of stagger and he was immune to it, lol. slapped on 3 more firagas between cloud and aerith and he went down. GG. Thanks! +tip incoming.
This guide is what allowed me to finally beat him. I didn't do it perfectly I had to fight through the last phase legitimately but I skipped that BS second phase and flailed my way to victory!

So wasnt able to get him lower than a quarter health remaining but if your having the same issue just use the same arcane ward from before and cast firaga, then switch to another character and do the same until you get him. Good video, I must have been messing some part up but I got there!

This was a very fun fight once you are properly prepared specially using shortcut commands with Tifa. This guide worked perfectly. Earned a new sub and look forward to your future guides once part 2 comes out.
Amazing guide thank you, I think the one thing that was different for me was that refocus only give +2 magic but it still worked perfect. Got him down to a sliver on the second try and finished him with a firaga

Took me like 3 tries to learn to dodge and 1 more to defeat him...i got like 70% of his HP on the stagger and on the second phase i just kept running and using Firaga with Aerith and Cloud and Fire with Tifa. Took me like an extra minute to take him down but 4th try. this guide was insanely good

This is so much easier than Bahamut and Pride and Joy tbh. There’s so much room for error. I somehow flubbed getting him all in one stagger but I just kept casting spells and dodging and he went down like 30 seconds later. Only took like 3 tries. Thank you!

Third try thanks to your guide...didn't get him in the stagger but I had enough atb to brute force the rest...actually the killing blow was a single attack from Aerith lol
Great job on the guide. I really appreciate the fact that you listed all the commands clearly, unlike most other guides that make you figure out what the hell is the player doing. Got it done on my 2nd try.
Decent guide, took three tries only. Also completely screwed up on the third try and only took off ike 70% of his health during the stagger but managed to finish him off with Firaga casts from Aerith & Cloud and Fire + synergized Fire casts from Tifa and Aerith while spamming Parry to dodge his second phase attacks. So, following this it's entirely possible to beat him even if you mess up.
Once more, a great and precise guide to beating Weiss. Honestly, compared to the Top Secrets gauntlet, Weiss isn't THAT difficult. Its just a means of learning to dodge his attacks, increase the Stagger bar, stagger him, and then do the stuff as outlined in the guide here. That said, I only managed to memorize the first phase of this fight after a 6-7 tries. Deleted his HP bar by half, and then went into the second phase, where I just spammed Firaga with Arcane Ward with Cloud and Aerith as much as possible, while distracting Weiss with Tifa. On that said, I also had Tifa throw in some Firaga spells, and had Cloud call Bahamut to do some damage as well. Ultimately I beat him with a combination of Bahamut's Megaflare leaving Weiss with a sliver of health that I finished up with Tifa doing a single Fire spell to his face. Never had to go into his third phase at all, or face his Instant Kill move at all. His healing phase was also not that difficult.
finally got a ps5 and can attempt this. I am godawful at parrying and dodging, so even with this guide I'm gonna struggle, but I still like how well detailed it is
I think you'll do fine. You have plenty of room for error and you can just Cure Tifa as many times as needed while you learn the timing to dodge each attack.
@@JamesGuides I dunno. Several tries later, Stab is the only one I can seem to somewhat consistently dodge. the other two he still hits me most of the time, or I dodge, and then he just parries my next punch and strikes again

This was the last trophy for the and I thought I was gonna be one of those that we try and die a lot, like a LOT. (Im well versed in FF superbosses lol). but... dude.... duuuuuude, I GOT IN THE FIRST TRY! thank you so much for all your hard work in putting the strategy together, U have my deepest admiration. ps: the gütter acessory works, for those who got one from Prototype, is just halfed (is that word correct?). I was slow and only used when Weiss changed phases and was immune lol... but it works!

The one thing I will stress that helps is you can probably have him in the second phase with about 1/4 of his hp left. Then you can just dodge with Tifa (it's really easy) and then let Cloud and Aerith FIraga him down. His defense is MUCH lower in phase 2 and he doesn't really do anything if he can't get to you.

After hours of research, countless attempts, and 3 days of failure, this guide has been the shining light, my knight in shining armor, and my savior from the darkness. I was so lost within the sauce trying to beat Weiss, my life seemed like it was at a standstill. I've had no problem with any of the other bosses within the game including the dlc until I've encountered this white haired devil. Thank you so much for bringing me this much needed closure. Perfect guide. I follow your setup and succeed in 2 tries. Dodging was easier than I thought, even the jump over during Stab (don't know why but it was almost impossible against Reno but here it works all the time).

This is the best guide out there! Took me four tries, mostly just trying to learn how to dodge properly. I still botched it and kept going, by the end I only had aerith alive launching fireballs but he was weak enough to finish. Thank you so much!!!

This was epic! When the DLC came out I've tried it a couple times and even wathced a couple tutorials but I couldn't do it. Now with Rebirth on the horizon I thought I'd give this and the Yuffie epic bosses another go. And now, with help of this little guide, I have done it! Finally! Was trying to get this done before rebirth and came across this guide. I followed about half of it because my skill master materia were lvl 1 and u just couldn't figure out how to dodge evisceration reliably, but even with that much I was able to get him down to 20% in 1 stagger and then ifrit/firaga him to death with aerith while running away with Tifa. My main issue was spamming cure with aerith because I kept getting hit and having her out of atb when it came time to kill.
I'd say this guide isn't easy and definitely requires a lot of work to pull off (and the timing is way tighter than expected), but if I was able to win with only half of it, then I bet it's amazing when you can actually pull off all of it.

I tried doing this strat on the first time I tried fighting Weiss. It's been years since I last played so I am a bit rusty with using all characters but I managed to defeat him on my 3rd try. I followed your strat but he still had more than 1/3 of his health when he went to his 2nd phase.
Fortunately for me, though, he was such a pushover in that phase. I just spammed Firaga over and over while dodging to fill up the ATB of all my characters and he died soon afterwards with minimal effort
That's the cool thing about this strategy, it has room for mistakes ;-)
Yo, you did a phenomenal job with this, not only figuring out this very effective strategy, you also did a phenomenal job putting this together the way that you did. I found your post on reddit, and I usually can't stand watching video walkthroughs because so many are overly drawn out and oftentimes rambling on about so many unrelated things.
That being said, I was having a bit of difficulty getting down the whole flow of things down and executing all the steps efficiently. I typically do better seeing a good demonstration at first. After wasting a few days, not really wanting to watch a video for it. I finally decided to cave in and watch it, just to be amazed at how well you put this together. I wish I would have done so sooner ctfu.
This is the kind of guide video I like, yet the majority of video guides are usually so overly drawn out that I have a tendency to waste a lot time figuring things out for myself before eventually caving in to watch one because I'm usually thinking they're gonna be like 3 times longer than they need to be.
You did such a good job at this and helped me out big time, coming in Clutch with this strategy, so I felt I owe it to you to tell you just how helpful this was, and just how good of a job you did with all of it. It is in my best Shao Kahn impersonation Outstanding!

Got it on my third try with only 2 fury rings. went gotterdamurung with tifa, but failed to get it off before the end of stagger and he was immune to it, lol. slapped on 3 more firagas between cloud and aerith and he went down. GG. Thanks! +tip incoming.

This guide is what allowed me to finally beat him. I didn't do it perfectly I had to fight through the last phase legitimately but I skipped that BS second phase and flailed my way to victory!

So wasnt able to get him lower than a quarter health remaining but if your having the same issue just use the same arcane ward from before and cast firaga, then switch to another character and do the same until you get him. Good video, I must have been messing some part up but I got there!

Amazing guide thank you, I think the one thing that was different for me was that refocus only give +2 magic but it still worked perfect. Got him down to a sliver on the second try and finished him with a firaga

Took me like 3 tries to learn to dodge and 1 more to defeat him...i got like 70% of his HP on the stagger and on the second phase i just kept running and using Firaga with Aerith and Cloud and Fire with Tifa. Took me like an extra minute to take him down but 4th try. this guide was insanely good

This is so much easier than Bahamut and Pride and Joy tbh. There’s so much room for error. I somehow flubbed getting him all in one stagger but I just kept casting spells and dodging and he went down like 30 seconds later. Only took like 3 tries. Thank you!

Decent guide, took three tries only. Also completely screwed up on the third try and only took off ike 70% of his health during the stagger but managed to finish him off with Firaga casts from Aerith & Cloud and Fire + synergized Fire casts from Tifa and Aerith while spamming Parry to dodge his second phase attacks.
So, following this it's entirely possible to beat him even if you mess up.
Once more, a great and precise guide to beating Weiss. Honestly, compared to the Top Secrets gauntlet, Weiss isn't THAT difficult. Its just a means of learning to dodge his attacks, increase the Stagger bar, stagger him, and then do the stuff as outlined in the guide here.
That said, I only managed to memorize the first phase of this fight after a 6-7 tries. Deleted his HP bar by half, and then went into the second phase, where I just spammed Firaga with Arcane Ward with Cloud and Aerith as much as possible, while distracting Weiss with Tifa. On that said, I also had Tifa throw in some Firaga spells, and had Cloud call Bahamut to do some damage as well.
Ultimately I beat him with a combination of Bahamut's Megaflare leaving Weiss with a sliver of health that I finished up with Tifa doing a single Fire spell to his face. Never had to go into his third phase at all, or face his Instant Kill move at all. His healing phase was also not that difficult.

I am godawful at parrying and dodging, so even with this guide I'm gonna struggle, but I still like how well detailed it is
I think you'll do fine. You have plenty of room for error and you can just Cure Tifa as many times as needed while you learn the timing to dodge each attack.
@@JamesGuides I dunno. Several tries later, Stab is the only one I can seem to somewhat consistently dodge. the other two he still hits me most of the time, or I dodge, and then he just parries my next punch and strikes again

ps: the gütter acessory works, for those who got one from Prototype, is just halfed (is that word correct?). I was slow and only used when Weiss changed phases and was immune lol... but it works!
