Most others seem to overcomplicate this, I dunno why, it's the same with Sephiroth, everybody overcomplicates him as well. Personally, when using this strategy and its a similar type of thing with Sephiroth, I find Weiss quite easy. I can't believe some players say Weiss is hardest boss ever, a single boss will never be as hard as the multiple boss gauntlets that are Top Secret and the the end few chapters

I've done Chapter 1 collectibles for Yuffie and the Weiss fight, I've still got to do chapter 2 collectibles and Hard Bosses, yes I plan to, I haven't got back to it yet though
I spent nights on this without being able to keep him from phase shifting, it turns out I was getting too far away from him while parrying for him to use Stab. He was using nothing but Eviscerate because of that. So make sure not to go ham with the Parries. Hopefully I can finally beat him now. Edit: literally the same attempt I beat him. Thank you so much @Optinoob! You’ve helped me with every boss and I wouldn’t have finished hard mode without you. Easily the best and most clear boss strategies. You’re awesome! Finally done getting the trophies in this game just in time for Rebirth!
After 2 years and 2 months I decided to try Weiss again after watching your guide. I did it after 2 tries after a lot of mistake and Tifa was even out. Thank you so much for your excellent strategy!

Unreal. Read so much about this dreaded fight and watched so many videos of complex and quick guides then found this. Knew it would be the one I’d use. Farmed Materia but not to max, and decided to test if I could handle him and practice timing the dodges. Took him down on my 5th attempt 😮 Thank you man. Platinum and 100% completion ❤
You are the best! No one can make a guide like you. Other UA-camrs 'easy' guide assume you have weapon upgrades maxed out and maximizes the slot usage. That kind of guide intimidates the person looking for an easy guide because it gives us a sense that it's near impossible boss if you don't have this exact setup. Your guide gives a sense of calm and ease because it makes us feel wow if this guy can beat it with so few upgrades and slots, it actually must be easy; and your commentary does actually show that it is easy.
I mean I guess different strokes. It took me way less time to grind the materia and gear I needed to just….not learn a 200 button sequence and timing to weave the abilities in.

Thank you for this amazing and easy to follow strategy! It's just gone past midnight and into the 29th Feb 2024, the launch day for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and this was the final trophy left on Remake INTERmission for 100% completion...and I just got it!! 🎉 I had Ultimate Weapon 2.0, The Road to Revenge and Corrupter of the Immaculate left to obtain today and I honestly thought I'd struggle with this boss for days. Thankfully I had my PS4 save which had ALL the Materia and gear I needed maxed out. This fight was WAY easier than the Pride and Joy bosses. The R1+Triangle movement makes it easy to dodge and pressuring him wasn't as hard as I thought. For others who are attempting this, it's fine to recast Regen and Barrier once more if you need to during the first stage, as I did and still had enough time. The trickiest part is the final chain of spells for the stagger. Once again, thank you so much for this strategy, what a relief and I can now fully enjoy starting Rebirth once it arrives today 😃🎊.

I managed to do it without gotterdamerung (you can actually fight him without doing the 5 summons one, forget the name; I only know because I haven't yet done all the coliseum fights and don't have access to it. Tried Weiss and was able to). My advice; just before you push him into his first stagger, get Aerith to use arcane ward, and thay way you can get the extra damage out without needing Tifas LB (I ended up using it in his second stagger and was enough to kill him, again, by trying to make sure Aerith was standing in the arcane ward when peppering him with blizzaga). After watching many tutorials, yours was the one that finally worked. Beat Weiss on the 3rd try. First try I somehow ran out of ATB on Phase Two and couldn’t build up enough before he slaughtered Cloud and Aerith. Second try Weiss was taking his time with attacks on Phase One and couldn’t Stagger him before the phase change. 3rd try was definitely the charm. I even missed a couple Blizzaga attacks and still beat him.
Thank you so very much.. I tried this about 50 times before stumbling on your guide.. It helped a lot... Another point is, if Weiss gets staggered while he is shifting between Phase 1 and 2, he moves to phase 3 immediately after he recovers from stagger(he recovered his health in this phase) .. So timing is everything
This is an excellent guide, after following other unsuccessful & over complicated guides. I beat Weiss on the third try. Only variation i made was using Firaga instead of blizzaga, as i kept missing with blizzaga because he kept moving. Thanks for your help!
Your video was the only one that got me through this. In my case however, I had to cast blizzaga like 4 or 5 more times to finally bring Weiss down. I now have achieved 100% completion of the game. Cheers to your video. ✌️

Took me a few tries to finally take him down but yet again your guide was amazing. First part was hard to get him staggered but once I got to just second phase, the rest was a cake walk. We just kept blasting him with Blizzaga until he died 😂. Awesome work as always!

Thanks for this kind sir. Whilst I did not follow your materia 100% and made small mistakes I still managed to get it done. I think the main takeaway here for me was the overall strategy, but more importantly for my situation I put synergy and lightening on cloud, I only had 2 maxed ice materia so used fire on tifa and to compensate gave her another armor to stack refocus and magic up to bolster her stats. Tifas x2 true strike and limit were paramount in first stagger.. and one additional thing was in phase 2 weiss throws those purple clouds that silence your spells. For this reason I kept guiding him and team away from those aoe. I then just spammed aga spells and he didn't make it to phase 3..bit untidy but a win is a win. I even whiffed half her limit break! 100% accomplished many thanks. Great format and explanation.
DUDE! Just beat him first try with this strategy! THANK YOU! I was stressed out over this and you made it practically a joke. I didn't even manage to pull off your strat 100% either. Second phase I messed up and forgot the Tempest charge. Spammed ice magic and killed him before the second stagger though.
I really dont see what all the fuss is about with this fight, HArder Than Top Secrets some say!! I think just a prime example of some guides making it much harder than needs to be!! I actually think a lot of FF7 boss guides are like that unfortunately. I think the Sephiroth fight is a good example as well
I haven't played this game in a year, and this trophy was really starting to hang over me. After watching your video I beat it on my first try. The end was a bit chaotic (I barely remember the FF7R controls) but having Tifa's Limit at the 'stagger' made all the difference. Thanks man, I'll check back in for your rebirth content.

You legend. Booted up my old save to see somehow it decided I never beat him the first time (despite having the trophy). And with your help I was able to shake off the rust quick as you like and remind it who runs things around here.
By far the best and easiest guide I’ve seen for Weiss. No crazy detailed instructions. Kudos for also putting the strategy in writing on screen. Made it easy to follow.
And thanks to your guide s for Top Secrets and Weiss I've got 100% completion on FF7 Remake as of a few days now. The barrier materia in this fight made the difference for me in his first phase, for some reason I had a bit of trouble consistently parrying his stab. I also never could beat his second form in time. I put down an arcane ward with Aerith and had Cloud and her spam blizzagas. But despite that I still somehow ran out of ATB and he destroyed them both, so I just had Tifa left and was panicking. I summoned Ifrit and dodged him as he only had a little health left and none of my attacks damaged him. But then Ifrit did his explosion thing before he left and Weiss went down. Talk about stressful, but it's over :)
@@mac1bc Thanks, this was definitely the ultimate test for FF7R with a boss who has insane health, can't really be damaged at all in certain phases, has a time limit; etc. it's definitely a challenge.

You are a legend mate, I never even considered using Iron Maiden before losing to Weiss a full 3 times. I had to replay the story MOTH to steal it because the simulator does not give steal items. I went from getting super annoyed during his regen phase to whooping him super quick. Thanks for helping a second time and I have subscribed. Thank you for yet another great guide. This dude was tough and I kept getting hit with that skill he does where he hits everyone for 9999. After two hours I said "Welp, Opti probably has a guide". It was far dirtier for me as I got silenced with Tifa in that final bit with all the blizzaga spam but I made it work. Thank you again. Now to absolutely blaze through your hard mode guide with 3 gotter's.
Using your guide I beat him in two attempts. The first one wasn’t even really a legitimate attempt because all I was doing was learning how to dodge his red attacks. So much easier than Top Secrets.
Thanks dude I have three limit break accessories to go into hard mode with beat the normal mode on remake (again) and intermission and all the simulator things in 49 hours and 20 minutes and 23 seconds and did all chapter 14 quests hard mode is going to be so much more fun with these level 2 limit breaks. I still think it's going to be enough of a challenge that I will need more tutorial videos but I'm not as worried because I have the accessories. I'm finding a common trend in these very hard battles, and that is if my nerves are on edge I usually lose but once I calm down I start improving. I can recall exactly which fights and parts are going to be brutal for me. Rufus, Jenova, Motorcycle, and others. Edit: oh sh-It just hit me that I have to do the simulator DLC. Yikes. I can write it off as not being official to the trilogy or do it at any other time.
Did it second try with this strat. I even had about half my "Plus" materia only at lvl 4, and accidentally forgot to put max ice on Aerith (I was leveling some extra materia prior). Strat still worked. First try was getting a feel for the fight and playing too defensive, but following the strat is pretty foolproof. Thanks for this guide!

After watching your video and following most of your set up. Got it done in 4 tries. The first 2 were spent learning the parry windows and how to evade the stab. 3rd attempt i messed up the blizzagas and he went phase shift to immaculate end. But 4th time.. woot i ended it quickly.
Youre such a godsend. I used your set up but when he got to his second phase, I sorta just summoned Bahamut and went from there since it wasnt going well but I beat him. Thanks so much!
Beastly strategy! Working my way to the remake platinum and this fight was available to me as I’ve completed Remake and the DLC on normal mode a few years back! Took a few goes but made short work of him in the end!
Damn, I didn't know you need to hold R1 and pressed circle for tifa to dodge quickly, once I knew that, it was easy to dodge and pressure Weiss. Took me 4 times to figure that out, finally got him after spamming blizzaga like there's no tomorrow! Thank you optinoob!
Thanks for the guide! I was able to finish him in less than a couple hours. I found getting the second stagger was hard. I also casted an arcane ward to make sure it wouldn’t take too long. One round he survived with a single pixel of health, stagger wore off, and I just gave up. Luckily I got him the next try after :)
Man this strategy made my day, been playing ffvii remake the last few days and this fight was driving me nuts. At the end I kinda ended up winning in my own way but most of the battle was way easier. Can't wait to get Rebirth!

After watching many tutorials, yours was the one that finally worked. Beat Weiss on the 3rd try. First try I somehow ran out of ATB on Phase Two and couldn’t build up enough before he slaughtered Cloud and Aerith. Second try Weiss was taking his time with attacks on Phase One and couldn’t Stagger him before the phase change. 3rd try was definitely the charm. I even missed a couple Blizzaga attacks and still beat him.

Another point is, if Weiss gets staggered while he is shifting between Phase 1 and 2, he moves to phase 3 immediately after he recovers from stagger(he recovered his health in this phase) .. So timing is everything
This is an excellent guide, after following other unsuccessful & over complicated guides. I beat Weiss on the third try. Only variation i made was using Firaga instead of blizzaga, as i kept missing with blizzaga because he kept moving. Thanks for your help!
Your video was the only one that got me through this. In my case however, I had to cast blizzaga like 4 or 5 more times to finally bring Weiss down. I now have achieved 100% completion of the game. Cheers to your video. ✌️
I know I’m late to the party but this is the easiest way to beat Weiss. I also spent hours with other guides trying to beat him. Tried this guide and beat him on my first try. Thanks for the awesome video.

Took me a few tries to finally take him down but yet again your guide was amazing. First part was hard to get him staggered but once I got to just second phase, the rest was a cake walk. We just kept blasting him with Blizzaga until he died 😂. Awesome work as always!

Thanks for this kind sir. Whilst I did not follow your materia 100% and made small mistakes I still managed to get it done. I think the main takeaway here for me was the overall strategy, but more importantly for my situation I put synergy and lightening on cloud, I only had 2 maxed ice materia so used fire on tifa and to compensate gave her another armor to stack refocus and magic up to bolster her stats. Tifas x2 true strike and limit were paramount in first stagger.. and one additional thing was in phase 2 weiss throws those purple clouds that silence your spells. For this reason I kept guiding him and team away from those aoe. I then just spammed aga spells and he didn't make it to phase 3..bit untidy but a win is a win. I even whiffed half her limit break! 100% accomplished many thanks. Great format and explanation.

DUDE! Just beat him first try with this strategy! THANK YOU! I was stressed out over this and you made it practically a joke. I didn't even manage to pull off your strat 100% either. Second phase I messed up and forgot the Tempest charge. Spammed ice magic and killed him before the second stagger though.

I think just a prime example of some guides making it much harder than needs to be!! I actually think a lot of FF7 boss guides are like that unfortunately. I think the Sephiroth fight is a good example as well
I haven't played this game in a year, and this trophy was really starting to hang over me. After watching your video I beat it on my first try. The end was a bit chaotic (I barely remember the FF7R controls) but having Tifa's Limit at the 'stagger' made all the difference. Thanks man, I'll check back in for your rebirth content.

You legend. Booted up my old save to see somehow it decided I never beat him the first time (despite having the trophy). And with your help I was able to shake off the rust quick as you like and remind it who runs things around here.
By far the best and easiest guide I’ve seen for Weiss. No crazy detailed instructions. Kudos for also putting the strategy in writing on screen. Made it easy to follow.

And thanks to your guide s for Top Secrets and Weiss I've got 100% completion on FF7 Remake as of a few days now. The barrier materia in this fight made the difference for me in his first phase, for some reason I had a bit of trouble consistently parrying his stab. I also never could beat his second form in time. I put down an arcane ward with Aerith and had Cloud and her spam blizzagas. But despite that I still somehow ran out of ATB and he destroyed them both, so I just had Tifa left and was panicking. I summoned Ifrit and dodged him as he only had a little health left and none of my attacks damaged him. But then Ifrit did his explosion thing before he left and Weiss went down. Talk about stressful, but it's over :)

@@mac1bc Thanks, this was definitely the ultimate test for FF7R with a boss who has insane health, can't really be damaged at all in certain phases, has a time limit; etc. it's definitely a challenge.

@@mac1bc Yeah, the back to back fights were awful for sure, especially Bahamut, but after I used Optinoob's strategy, I got it done first try (none of the other video strategies worked for me).

You are a legend mate, I never even considered using Iron Maiden before losing to Weiss a full 3 times. I had to replay the story MOTH to steal it because the simulator does not give steal items. I went from getting super annoyed during his regen phase to whooping him super quick. Thanks for helping a second time and I have subscribed. It was far dirtier for me as I got silenced with Tifa in that final bit with all the blizzaga spam but I made it work.

Using your guide I beat him in two attempts. The first one wasn’t even really a legitimate attempt because all I was doing was learning how to dodge his red attacks. So much easier than Top Secrets.

Thanks dude I have three limit break accessories to go into hard mode with beat the normal mode on remake (again) and intermission and all the simulator things in 49 hours and 20 minutes and 23 seconds and did all chapter 14 quests hard mode is going to be so much more fun with these level 2 limit breaks. I still think it's going to be enough of a challenge that I will need more tutorial videos but I'm not as worried because I have the accessories.
I'm finding a common trend in these very hard battles, and that is if my nerves are on edge I usually lose but once I calm down I start improving.
I can recall exactly which fights and parts are going to be brutal for me. Rufus, Jenova, Motorcycle, and others.
Edit: oh sh-It just hit me that I have to do the simulator DLC. Yikes. I can write it off as not being official to the trilogy or do it at any other time.
Did it second try with this strat. I even had about half my "Plus" materia only at lvl 4, and accidentally forgot to put max ice on Aerith (I was leveling some extra materia prior). Strat still worked. First try was getting a feel for the fight and playing too defensive, but following the strat is pretty foolproof. Thanks for this guide!

After watching your video and following most of your set up. Got it done in 4 tries. The first 2 were spent learning the parry windows and how to evade the stab. 3rd attempt i messed up the blizzagas and he went phase shift to immaculate end. But 4th time.. woot i ended it quickly.

Beastly strategy! Working my way to the remake platinum and this fight was available to me as I’ve completed Remake and the DLC on normal mode a few years back! Took a few goes but made short work of him in the end!

Damn, I didn't know you need to hold R1 and pressed circle for tifa to dodge quickly, once I knew that, it was easy to dodge and pressure Weiss. Took me 4 times to figure that out, finally got him after spamming blizzaga like there's no tomorrow! Thank you optinoob!
Thanks for the guide! I was able to finish him in less than a couple hours. I found getting the second stagger was hard. I also casted an arcane ward to make sure it wouldn’t take too long. One round he survived with a single pixel of health, stagger wore off, and I just gave up. Luckily I got him the next try after :)

Man this strategy made my day, been playing ffvii remake the last few days and this fight was driving me nuts. At the end I kinda ended up winning in my own way but most of the battle was way easier. Can't wait to get Rebirth!

Great guide, basically one shot it after I figured out(after like 5 attempts :D) lvl 3 magic doesn't take 2 ATB's like it does in Rebirth. Thanks for making this!
