I just purchased one of these from spray gunner and I already have the already have the ps270 and the ps289 and they are just great. I picked up the ps267. There ABs are a great value. Like you I have become an iwata fan. Why waste your money on cheapies but they have there place. I got my 1st AB at 15 years old. I'm now 62 and I like your site as it gives a bit of knowledge.
Thanks! I have one video called "the best reducer is free" or something like that where I show how I use distilled water to reduce my paints. My 5 tips video also goes into paint reduction tips. Hope this helps and best of luck!
I just bought a PS-289 & really like the angled air stem approach, this airbrush feels great in the hand and the trigger is really nice. However: 1) I bought it new from Amazon but when I stripped it down there was red paint on the nozzle threads and in the head, so I guess this is actually a return 😡 I've had this far too many times from Amazon this year. 2) The spray pattern is way too narrow for the 0.3mm it's supposed to be, it's very similar to my SOTAR but the SOTAR does everything the PS-289 does and does it better, I got the PS-289 as a general purpose but it really isn't, it's a detail brush - the spray pattern on the 0.2mm PS-270 etc nozzles must be tiny! 3) The air velocity is nuts, I had to turn down the MAC valve as paint was drying before it hit the surface. I tried exactly the same mix in my SOTAR from the same distance, hose etc and didn't have a problem. So now I don't know whether to return it & get a Patriot or PS-266, both 0.5mm; or keep it and source 0.5mm parts and hope they fit. Apologies for the essay!
I love mine, I got it after I wasn't satisfied with ergonomics of the PS-289 for the reasons you mentioned, as well as the angled air valve having issues with my quick release adapters. I think the 1/8" hose is also needed for use with Mr. Hobby compressed air cans, which would also give the adjustable air valve found on many of their air brushes something to do (pretty redundant with a compressor regulator). Would love a .3/.35 version of the PS-267.
I just got a 771 per your excellent review. If I leave the protective cap over the needle, paint sprays on it and clogs the tip. I’d rather leave it on to protect the needle but can’t. I also have an Eclipse HP-CS. I much prefer the 771 for control and ease of use. Also the 771 moves noticeably less air which is nice when using stencils. Had I seen this before getting the 771, I may have gone this way The Iwata nozzle tool and wrench both work on the Creos. My 771 was $175 on sale from Spraygunner
isn't the 771 great? I love that airbrush so much. It got me hooked on this creos brand. I agree with you on the lower airspeed- so much easier to spray over frisket and shields. The eclipse and the 771 is the perfect duo if you ask me. Thanks Chuck.
I have a ps267(0.2), ps274(0.3), ps266(0.5) and ps771(0.18) for spraying on plastic model and garage kit. Creos and Tamiya airburshes are excellent for hobby paints because the paints are thicker and sticker than other art paints. I recommend that try to add some paint retarder(10%) while using a fine detail airbrush and don't stop the air until fully push back the trigger. PS771, PS289, PS270 have semi-soft bottom on the triggers. It means it always sprays a little bit of paints while u are pressing the trigger, even u doesn't pull the trigger yet. Reducing the air pressure to about 10psi-15psi is also helpful for some paints like acrylic and water based hobby paints.
I just received the GSI267 and the first thing I did was the soap test and mine had no leakage. I got mine from spray gunner. Im going to do some spraying on a fiat g50
I love the 289 as well. Creos makes some amazing airbrushes. I find that this 267 sprays pretty similar to the 289. If you really want detail the 771 is the way to go!!
Yet again I find myself wanting an airbrush that I don't really need. FYI - I did pick up that other Creos to replace my CMB and holy crap is it good. It's not exactly the same in terms of feel but in terms of performance I am hard-pressed to see a difference. Creos might be my new favorite airbrush brand.
I know what you mean. I don't need any extra airbrushes either, but it's so fun to collect them and see what they offer! Aren't they (creos) great?! The first creos I bought was the 771 and it got me hooked on the brand. Really glad to hear you feel the same, because I highly respect your opinion Jay.
Great video. I notice in alot of your reviews that you mention how airbrushes are "great for beginners" or that they are premium, but i was wondering. .. What would you recommend as someone's SECOND airbrush. Not their first beginner brush but not the top of the line brush either. Im a model painter myself and ive been doing a ton of research to find a more incrimental upgrade to a brush that gives me decent detail, atomization, and reliability without needing to last me for the next 15 years in the hobby.
I'd say the Iwata eclipse or the new Harder and Steenbeck evolution 2024 are both very solid options. The eclipse is my favorite but the new evo is a pretty solid contender. They are well priced airbrushes and will last for way more than 15 years. best of luck to you!
Thank you for the nice review. Can you plug the PS-267 directly into your Iwata 10' hose, or do you need an adaptor? I'm trying to use my PS-267 with a Paasche hose.
Yes, the iwata air hose has a 1/8" connector which is what most airbrushes (creos, iwata, Harder and Steenbeck, etc.) use. Paasche and badger use their own connections so they need adapters.
Using nozzle sealant is usually better than using o-ring. Some airbrush cleaners are strong (e.g. acetone and lacquer thinner) that FKM/FFKM o-ring can't handle with it for a long-term. BTW, PS267 and PS270 use the same nozzle and needle.
The needle cap on this airbrush... are any of these caps interchangeable with like cheaper caps? i have a cheap master airbrush but its needle guard is what keeps me coming back and using it, just press it into my hand and bubble up the paint. i wonder what the thread dimensions on these tiny caps are like.
I would really like to try this airbrush but unfortunately, as a miniature painter, the large paint cup is completely unnecessary. It's a pity that this airbrush isn't available with a smaller cup or only with a paint well.
I prefer smaller paint cups too. It's the reason I'm such a fan of removable cups from brands like harder and steenbeck. It's so nice to have that option to swap them out for different sizes.
Just got a PS-266 and totally agree about the stem angle.
A creos with a straight stem feels so good to use.

spraygunner is awesome. I bought my first creos airbrush from them!
Your reviews are so detailed and masterful. I have bought a couple airbrushes learning of their good features from watching your videos. Great stuff.
I appreciate that very much- thank you! Have a great weekend 🙂
Your reviews are detailed and clear. Thx.
thanks Mike!
They are good brushes the creos cannot fault them thanks for sharing
they sure are. I love painting with them. Thanks Rob!
Great videos. I'm new to airbrushing and I'm wondering if you have steps or a video that talks about how to thin acrylic paints.
Thanks!

I totally agree with you, the 270 is also good with a 2mm
I've heard so many amazing things about the 270. I need to add that one someday! Thanks so much

That's right! They sell compressed air cans as well. Very good point. I've really been loving this 267 as well. It's fantastic to paint with

That is awesome! so glad to hear it. Just yesterday I added some beeswax to the threads and it sealed it right up.
Love my PS-289 0.3! One of these days I'll get a PS-771, but dang - selling me on this.

What if apply the 0.2 needle, nozzle and nozzle cap from ps267 to ps276?
Great review, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Louis!
Great review, thanks!
Thanks Jeff!

yes, these needle caps fit a lot of different airbrushes. They fit all the iwata and master airbrushes I own
Grazie.
thanks so much! I got your email and will get back to you today or tomorrow to help you with your painting. Did you start any practice paintings?
Great review and interesting.
thanks!
Professional 👍
