Heart warming to see a DNF Duel lover!
PS:- I read your description & it says you're a software developer. I was curious as to what knowledge is required to reverse engineer video games. I'm interested in old arcade games & have wondered how is that people got rips of it. And many other such questions. Like how people got frame counter in FightCade & all. What technical knowledge is required to perform all those I wonder. Anyways, you're doing great work! Looking forward to more content from you in the future ...

Thank you so much for your support, means a lot to me!
I’m not sure if my current job had anything to do with it, but I started competing in fgs when I was in college. The knowledge I acquired comes from 3 things: practicing (by both training and playing), watching other pros play and researching info on the internet. When it comes to frame data and technical stuff like that theres usually a wiki online where it shows info like that, don’t quite remember whats the DNF duel one as it has been a long time since I played it, but usually by googling frame data you can most certainly find it.
In regards to your question with Fightcade, I’m not sure since I haven’t used that feature as I’ve only used Fightcade very occasionally and casually, so I haven’t cared that much in regards to that except maybe 3rd Strike, but again I just googled the frame data on Alex who was my main on that game.
I haven’t used any of my developing skills when it comes to learning and playing fighting games and I don’t think you need any of that to become a good player, the 3 aspects I mentioned above are more than enough I think. If anything googling stuff is what most developers do I think, and therefore is our most developed “skill” 😆. Hope this answers your questions.
Let me know if you have any more questions, I am always happy to answer them to the best of my ability! As of know I am working on a video related to KOF neutral, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

@@luigifgc7485 Thanks for the elaborate response! I was curious about reverse engineering games, like how people make mods & all. I was looking for instant while running attacks guide for Tekken, & it pissed me off to no end that the only guide which was helpful was the one which had the Tekken Bot Prime overlay working. That means that the in game input display wasn't sufficient. I was thinking what if there was a way to get frame counter working for older fighting game titles. Even companies when re-releasing titles don't provide elaborate practice tools. That's what I wanted to know how is it possible to mod the game in such a way that frame counter becomes available. SNK released Global Match but it DOESN'T have the frame counter display of XV! There must be a way to reverse engineer/mod the game. That was what I wanted to know what technical skills are required to achieve that. Also, wouldn't it be cool to get hitbox viewer for all fighting games?
Looking very much forward to KOF neutral video! Thanks!

@@sneharashmi7553 Yeah I agree we need more tools like that in-game, sadly very few has them, I know Sf6 and Thems Fighting Herds has one tho! Sadly atm i dont know any technical stuff to figure things like that in game, only googling stuff.

@@luigifgc7485 OK thanks! There must be some reverse engineering behind that I guess. I remember reading about SFV hitbox viewer group & they politely stated not asking for source code. I love Tekken, & I thought it would be cool to replace PS1 Tekken 3 models with their arcade counterparts because of the higher polygonal count. Also, same with Tekken 6. Tekken 6 arcade version has the most detailed character models till date in my opinion. And that includes Tekken 8. I mean it. It would be cool to get the models swapped in emulators. It might be possible, coz someone uploaded Virtua Fighter 4: Final Tuned models & stages which was an arcade only release to Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution on PCSX2. Crazy engineering wizardry I guess. So disappointing that when Capcom released their collections, they didn't bother to include extensive training mode stuff. Might be American Japanese thing, coz KI & Skullgirls have frame data & hitbox viewer but not Japanese fighting games.
